  1. You need to distinguish genuine TryAll designed parts from those which come from OEM manufacturers and have a TryAll logo printed on them hence doubling their price - like for instance TryAll Wellgo MG1 based pedals. Koxx (or Try-All since it's the same) do a lot of R&D so at least you know that your money is going into the development of new interesting parts. As for the frames, some are incredibly complicated (like the Boxx for instance) and that sets it's price so high. If you're just looking for some tubes welded together, you can get a much cheaper frame from say Echo or Zhi. Koxx/TryAll offers some very interesting parts for demanding riders but if you're just looking into building up a bike which will last as long as possible, get something else.
  2. If your video is 25fps (50 interlaced), just select 50fps in output, and tick deinterlace. Don't forget to increase the bitrate though since the video will have double the amount of frames. With the same bitrate, quality will be noticeably lower. As for encoding HD, the best resolution will be 720 with square pixels. No consumer or prosumer hd camera will capture more than about 700 lines despite the HDV standard having 1080 lines. So if you use a good encoding setting for 720p50 video, the quality will be pretty much the same as that of the input. Premiere CS3 supports H.264 (mpeg 4) which is supposed to be the best video encoder to date. WMV is good, but MP4 is better and on some PC's it will compress much more quickly. Also, if you're uploading anything onto Vimeo or Youtube, MP4 will be the better choice due to no audio sync issues.
  3. Once deinterlaced, you can doulbe the frame rate to obtain the same smoothness of progressive video as in the interlaced form.
  4. Do not be alarmed, help is at hand. This is roughly what Trials Forum looks like on a graph representation. The Z axis represents member dissatisfaction The X axis represents the outdoor temperature The Y axis represents everything else (hunger, comfort, blood alcohol level, life quality etc.) So as you can see, the outdoor temperature has caused your member satisfaction to drop. You are now on the dark side of the graph, and need to wait until it gets warmer outside. Expressing your dissatisfaction will only move your position along the Y axis, so you might as well just get drunk instead since nothing will help you get back into the blue zone. We're all looking forward to spring, it's only a matter of time.

    New Bars

Yep, Monty's are great but if you want ready-made 740mm bars, Trialtechs will be the best. Monty's have more rise (backsweep and upsweep) but you need to extend them which is a bit of a nuisance.
  6. Sorry, couldn't resist replying to a few of these: No, have I said that anywhere? There is a difference between threads like this one, and threads made only to discredit a company. No, I suggesting legal action as a way to prevent these problems from happening. By writing that a discrediting thread is a bad idea, I did not mean to say that people should keep getting ripped off. Preventing something from happening, that has already happened many times before? So in your opinion, a sticky will prevent everyone from buying at this shop and help those who are already in trouble? Strangely, the numerous threads about these problems we've had in the past few weeks haven't helped much if people are still experiencing difficulties. And how will that sticky help a new rider who has never heard of TF and has just googled uk trials shop and decided to purchase a bike there? People in this thread are not talking about prevention anymore Mark, they're talking about a cure. What you're suggesting is not unlike placing a warning sign before a bridge which will collapse if you try to cross it rather than just demolishing it. [nevermind] I speak as an individual here.
  7. Perhaps they're made of iron. Why is the chain on the other way round?
  8. There was a very similar situation this end but not as extreme since nobody got robbed and as far as I can say the shop didn't break the law. However, it gradually came to a halt chiefly due to a series of topics on an internet forum. Now all that's left of it is a website which hasn't been updated for ages. So yes, a sticky would probably ruin T-UK. The question is - what's the point? If you can take legal action against a company that's not living up to standards set by the law, do it especially as it's only going to cost one phone call. It's much better than forcefully informing everybody around about how bad one place is, especially as you have a great alternative like Tarty. I've had good and bad experiences with Dan but can say he's never caused me too much trouble. However, storing of card details is a bit worrying. I do hope that what happened to Nick was caused by the payment being split into a few installments and isn't common practice.
  9. Most of us use Adobe Premiere (preferably 2.0), there's a 30 day trial if that interests you. It's going to be hard to find freeware which actually works. Most of these programs are over simplified which means they have virtually no potential whatsoever. You could google DVD Video Soft, they make some great little programs and I'm pretty sure they have a video editor as well.
  10. I've just though of a game. Firstly, we guess how much it would cost if it had TryAll written on it. Secondly, we send that image to Mr Hermance. Then we play the waiting game. Whoever gets closest to the retail price of the new TryAll jockey wheels gets to buy them with a 5% discount. My suggestion: 49,99 for the normal ones 99,99 for the ones sold in a box full of titanium gas and carbon fibre emptiness.
  11. Perhaps put more care into your posts, they're really difficult to understand.
  12. I like your thinking The other less original way would be to gradually undo the small screws on your vee.
  13. ...get on it and wonder why the bb rise depends on how long you haven't had a dump for.

You can upload new maps via TomTom Home but they're fairly expensive. You'll probably need an additional memory card for that, my eastern and central Europe maps take up 1,7gb. Oh and while we're at it, another reason why I hate TomToms - 2gb TomTom memory card (ordinary SD) - 28 quid, Goodram SD - 2,90p. You're really not paying for anything but the name. I'd recommend a normal PDA and a very good map to go with that. It'll be slightly more expensive but depending on your occupation, could also be much more useful.

I wouldn't, unless it gets strong support around your areas. I've got one and although I try to keep it updated, it's got me into trouble EVERY time I used it. Once it decided to treat ferries as bridges and I spent the whole evening looking for a crossing that was a bridge, not some stupid ship which doesn't exist. On another occasion it quite literally got me lost and then lost itself. The TomTom is a handy tool when you know where you're going yet like to be bossed around during the journey.

    Tra In Hd

Yep, certainly one of the best trials vids of all time. Wish he'd release a new one...
  17. Blimey, that was amazing! Any there any more vids of this guy?
  18. TRA rode with a broken arm or wrist, it sure didn't help him recover. Just made things worse.
  19. 30 GBP is a perfectly normal price, do some research before you accuse a company of overcharging on postage
  20. I'd go with Snowy/Yellows or Blueberries. Don't know which are better, got Bluberries on my front brake and they're great. Used Snowys on the rear for a time and they were great too.

    Rage Bar 09

Yep, that's about right. I'd recommend TT bars due to their width but it all depends on your preference. Both bars are very good.
  22. Best of 2008 was much better, he's actually a very good rider. Looks like he also took part in Latvia's Got Talent or something like that
  23. Seeing how the Coust promodels have looked like in the past few years, I'm going to give a shot at the Atomz Coustellier:
  24. I made an exact copy of Bigman's rear rim with his help and it's been fine so far. In fact I'm thinking about making the holes much bigger. Mine currently weighs around 635g. It all depends on how you ride, if you think you're smooth the best way would be to get hold of someone who will CNC it for you and have a few rims made at once. Doing those rims with a file is a nightmare, you'll be lucky to finish it in 8 hours if you work non-stop. To be honest, it's the most tiring thing I've done in my whole life. As for the edges, they don't need rounding off. I've been riding square holed rims for over 2 years and had no problems with them cracking at the edges. It's obviously more mechanically sound but I wouldn't bother.
