  1. Asked in RSQ but didn't get a reply. So... Out of these 3 cards, which would you say is the best buy? GTX 260 GTX 280 9800 GX2 The 280 is obviously the most expensive, but is it worth paying an extra 100 pounds over the 260 or 50 over the GX2? At the moment the only use I can think of is for gaming, but mainly I want one of these cards because of CUDA. At the moment the apps I use don't support this technology but when they do, it'll be worth having a card like this.
  2. To the whole "get a bmx" crowd: do you guys seriously think that your in a position to advise him on what to ride? If he rides an Inspired or whatever that is, it's because it suits him best. Such comments really work on my nerves, no appreciation whatsoever, just trying to be a smartass and ending up looking like a total knob.
  3. Nasty squeak usually means the disc is contaminated. Freewheel - it's new, needs time to bed in. If it's still like that after say 20 hours of riding, consider contacting the shop you bought it at.
  4. I've been running one for about 3 months now and no problems so far. That's on a 26" wheel too which will be weaker than a mod wheel.
  5. That's actually really good looking. edit: So it's you who fails my friend
  6. They'll be fine for that.
  7. Rear rims are the same (or really similar) to TryAlls which I think are really good. Front rims are similar to TryAlls but have a slightly different shape. I've compared the two with a simple test where you push down on an rim and the Trialtech didn't bend as easily. Needless to say neither the Tryall or Trialtech front rim are for bashers. They're light rims and as long as you don't do front wheel dropgaps, they'll be fine.
  8. Wow, what a vid! I never really liked Hermance's style but recently it's become more appealing. Also some beastly editing skills, take a look at the transition at 01:17
  9. Staples was actually a comp rider before he started getting really creative at street. You could actually see that in his riding, completely different use of brakes for example. Comps require high skill and part of that skill is understanding the obstacles you ride. We might mock the street riders as not having high skills on anything but simple terrain but I'm pretty sure those guys you mentioned would do much better than you think, especially someone like Rowan.
  10. It is a compliment, you Rowan and the Danny Mac video guy (Brainchild?) release the best UK videos in my opinion. Yours I like especially because of the creative editing and the original tunes you use. It's just this one didn't work for me because of the music. That is all, I'm not criticising your riding since I'm in no position to do so and even so, it's pretty damn impressive.
  11. I think Bigman's Trialtech weighed 620g. Need to PM him about that. Anyway, found out that the wheelbase has decreased by 10mm meaning these forks probably have 35mm rake despite what the Echo website says. So that's another point in favour.
  12. BB5 + SD7 lever for a very aggressive and powerful front brake. Hope Mono Trial if you want to use it on the rear.
  13. The front rim is a Trialtech, the rear is a BT which is essentially an eyeleted Tryall. Will be changing that to a CNC'd Trialtech like the thing Bigman made some time ago. Anyway, thanks for the comments. Will be updating this thread throughout the next few months.
  14. Isn't he actually a concealed senior? I've seen him edit his posts quite a few times without the whole "this post has been edited by..." thingy at the bottom. Either way, whoever complained about him being senior is a pretty sad individual.
  15. Well Forteh, that's an excellent question and I thank you for it. I think it's great we post on a forum where you can ask questions. Because without questions, we just have answers. And an answer without a question is a statement. To be serious though, I don't know. They seem to be ok, Deng hasn't gone over the top with making them as light as possible. All I can say that after examining them and checking the steerer/crown area, I'm confident. The steerer itself is fairly thick, the same as in Pre '07 Deng forks.
  16. Was: Now: New front wheel including some Sapim Lazer spokes and a rear rim CNC milled according to Bigman's instructions (thanks for the help man). Weighs in at 628g which is a little worse than Adam's result but he must have just started off with a lighter rim since the holes are the same size.
  17. Impressive editing skills but he's gone a bit over the top with them. I liked the natural section a lot, very well put together. And I experienced a pleasant feeling watching it, that I'm sitting in a warm cosy room. Seems like quite a good camera he's using, do you know what it is?
  18. How the hell is half of that stuff even possible.
  19. I was wondering about this some time ago, wouldn't a Pro II 110mm hub just be a Profile? In terms of performance of course.
  20. They are lighter but weight isn't the main factor when it comes to rim strength. The SL's have a shape which would suggest they are quite strong. They're fairly stiff when you press down on them but since nobody has given them a good bashing yet, I doubt you'll get any genuine answers to your question.
  21. Greetings

    Rim Bending

Haha that made me chuckle Not too strong eh?
  22. Go to the moon and live there in luxury for a week under a huge dome with my mates. I'd certainly like to ride trials there, on a frame filled with concrete. Probably wouldn't be too pleasant returning to earth and experiencing the huge gravity difference though
  23. Found both those vids to be fairly similar, music aside. The riding in the TGS vid consists of lines as well. For me, you're what would result if Neil had aspirations to ride like Rowan. In essence, your riding is really unique - both your style and the obstacles you choose to ride. Nevertheless, these videos didn't get me at all. Might be the music, Sunday Jen worked brilliantly in The Collective, in fact I'd class that part of the film as one of if not the best in the whole biking cinematography. It just doesn't seem right having that tune in a Trials vid but those who haven't seen The Collective, will probably disagree.
