Teenage Angst Communal Agony Aunt Thread
Greetings replied to Has anyone seen my shoe?'s topic in Chit Chat
Tease her with a pic of your 126p. If it works, she's yours forever -
How do you wish to accomplish anything with that attitude?
-
Probably because SL is the only complete group at the moment If Tarty's info is correct, this is a good example to demonstrate how the head tube angle affects reach. Wheelbase: 1085mm Head Angle: 72.5 degrees Centre of BB shell to top centre of head tube: 670mm Wheelbase: 1080mm Head Angle: 70.5 degrees Centre of BB shell to top centre of head tube: 640mm Both frames have the same rise and CS length. Despite the 1st frame having a 5mm longer wheelbase, it has 30mm more reach.

People In The Know About Hd Cams & Computers Look In
Greetings replied to Damon W's topic in Trials Chat
If it's jerky, you need to upgrade your pc. An X2 6000+ will be quick enough for editing, but not quick enough for exporting unless you want to leave it over night. A quad core 2,83ghz Intel is fine for editing, and fairly good for exporting though to be frank, there are no consumer processors that can handle HD exporting times. On big projects, +4gb RAM is a must. I'm running 4 gigs at the moment and the memory usage often goes over 80% which means that there's too little memory and much of the data which should be stored in RAM, is going on the HDD. This slow things down. GPU accelerated editing is not supported by Premiere yet, and I doubt it is by Vegas either. Premiere does support some cards which supposedly improves editing but to be honest, that doesn't work at all. What you want is a CUDA enabled card like the new GTX series and a CUDA plugin for your editing software which at a guess should be available within the next year. There are already some MP4 compressors available that make use of CUDA and the speed of compression is about 18x quicker than on a quad core platform. -
Awwww Yeah I think 1 group will be better. At the end of the day, a good vid is still the result of a high level of riding, editing skills and nice shots, NOT wheel size.
-
You forgot mine but I'll let you off Since there are going to be 20/24/26 inch groups, where would I stand if I wanted to ride a 20 and 26" bike?
-
Yeah, but 1010mm AND 71D head tube = worldwide fail. If it had a 72D tube that'd be a totally different story.

Some people are a bit emotionally selfish if that's a good way to put it. It looks like she will only meet you if she really wants to and there's not much you can do to change her mind. If you try, you'll probably just make things worse. To put it simple - she's confused. -
375mm chainstays were what made the Python what it was. Deng should really keep the geometry of his flagship models unchanged.

That was marvellous. I love the surroundings this video was shot in, and being in HD it makes the experience so much better. Music was great too. I'd say this vid is more like something to chill out to while smoking a sheesha and having some friends over rather than something you'd watch to be impressed by huge moves. Some of those girls were pretty hot and lol at the dogs with LED collars Definitely a keeper
-
Whey! Something to look forwards to Will edit when watched.

I agree with Anzo. The one thing I'd advise is to be mature, agree to move on and then explain to the police why you're riding on walls and benches and not in a trials park. They're people as well and they probably have kids themselves. The problem is that they must deal with chavs and other young people of a similarly aggressive nature on a daily basis and already have a certain attitude towards teenagers. Show them that guys on seatless bikes deserve to be treated with greater respect by talking to them in a civilised manner and EXPLAINING your situation.

Start using common sense Mark and stop taking things so literally. Light components are referred to as competition parts since that's the group where weight is most important. It doesn't mean that it's targeted at competition riders - frankly speaking, it's pretty obvious that these have been released for street riders who value light bikes. Besides, what would you rather call it? Obsessed With Weight Parts For Light And Happy Satisfaction? It doesn't mean that if you snap this frame, you won't get a replacement because it's classed as a comp product. It's actually down to the shop to decide whether something is covered by warranty or not. As for the forks, they're supposed to be light, not strong. I'd think that's fairly obvious
-
That is quite a ridiculous situation. People should learn to use common sense a bit more rather than stick to the rulebook. Over here we get none of this, in fact the police find trials very interesting and even encourage us to show them some moves. They only react when they can see that other people are not happy with us riding. Even then it's usually the same old story - move along, we have nothing against you riding but somebody made a complaint.
-
Well he's still continuing the trend of that frame having brilliant geometry. So in my books, it's still a Control. Personally as a rider, I don't think that frame is a looker, nor is the Team. But we must remember that the key feature and reason to buy this frame is the low weight. So if I were to build up an insanely light bike, I wouldn't think twice before getting one of these.
-
Thanks guys, much appreciated Couldn't be bothered to trials tube it, the file is too big for my upload speed Just use Jon Mack's Vimeo account if you want to download.
-
I'm up for it, hope it works this time about the rules... why not make a 45 second time limit? Oh, and it's kerb, not curb.
-
This might be the dumbest post ever on TF - but are you sure that frame takes a 19" rim?
-
Nico is a fantastic rider. The other chap I've never heard of but he's really good too.
-
How pimp is that Hang on to it man.
-
Quite an odd statement coming from somebody who rides once a week but having made this vid I've realized how much time I've spent riding and how much it has affected my life in almost every way possible - all for the better Was supposed to be a bit shorter for the progress to be more obvious but unfortunately it ended up being 7 minutes long. Went for the oldschoo Gerrardo Garcia / Ot Pi kind of music http://www.vimeo.com/1799032

Does Using A Brake Booster Improve Your Brake?
Greetings replied to Ross McArthur's topic in Trials Chat
Perhaps you're running a strong rear wheel but for lightweight wheels which don't have much stiffness, that won't work. For some reason even Tart couldn't figure out recently, such wheels will bend towards the drive side when you press the pedal hard. So in my bike for instance, I have the non drive side pad almost touching the rim, while the drive side one is far away. -
It didn't instantly occur to me this is an A3, the colour makes the frame look completely different. nice one
-
I don't think they do. Haven't had these mounts in my hands but I do have some 80's 4bolt mounts at home which work on the same principal. They clamp on the full length of the slave. Edit: interesting fact - the Tryall and tryall based rims do not have parallel sidewalls. They are at a slight angle facing towards the hub. So I'd think Tryall would be the last manufacturer to introduce such clamps since I can't see how these would work on their rims? Half a year ago me and my mate were planning on releasing clamps like these but we found that they'd be incompatible with too many types of rims.

Why create such a fuss? These people must know what they're doing else they'd never have built this thing. I wonder how long it would take to defrost a loaf of bread that's been cooled down to 0K.
