  1. You need to keep your legs bent, that's quite important. Rear wheel should be quite high up. Basically when you're hopping on the front wheel and starting to fall backwards, just correct it by jumping back. Basically hopping on the front wheel isn't only done by the arms, your whole body including the legs comes into it.
  2. Company: Monty Bar: 221Ti +60mm Grips: Trialtech foam / Echo rubber Positives: just the best bars around, lots of rise, really comfy geometry Negatives: they need extending Score out of 10: 10 Company: Trialtech Bar: Sport riser Grips: Echo rubber Positives: lots of rise, nice width, really comfy Negatives: Not enough rise for my liking Score out of 10: 8
  3. 1. Mitsubishi Evo X MR (current dream car) 2. BMW M5 E61 Touring (for the practical journeys) 3. Mercedes SLR (for the sound) 4. Bugatti Veyron (for the speed) 5. Pagani Zonda (for the insane looks) edit: more to the point, if you had these cars in your garage, which would you take out for a spin first?
  4. white tyres? They look gash on normal bikes but they might look interesting on this one.
  5. It's actually not that difficult, you just use thin strips of aluminium along the grooves in the spline and bend them into the axle. That way it's pretty easy to put the crank on. Once it's on, you just cut off the strips that are bent into the axle so the bolt can go in.
  6. Popcorn!!!! I'm not a fan of Benito's riding but that was really good. Overall a fantastic video but I think that whoever made that should invest in a wide angle lens. Some shots were quite poor which is a bit of a let down when you're shooting such a good rider in such beautiful surroundings and with an HD cam.
  7. Marmite is very dark brown, almost black. It's just the lid that's yellow
  8. Very easy one. The Santa Pod banner is left to cause massive confusement to those who figure out the name of the car
  9. That's my only idea, shave it off. The razor above is really good because it adapts to the shape of the object very well. Ask her, she uses it and she looks happy so maybe you will be as well. Or just drill holes in your tyre, see how much you gain and how long it lasts. You might be first, thus the drilled tyre concept will be named after you.
  10. a state of trance yearmix 2007, 8 minutes in anyone from the in crowd care to join in?
  11. It's to do with strength. The GU would be a weak frame if it didn't have all that CNC work and huge strengthening metal plates welded to the tubes. It's the same like asking - what's the point of welding the bottom and top tube together? Just please don't tell me that the TP allows for more body movement than an Echo Lite. Although it might, you must be made of rubber to actually benefit from that.
  12. Your new bike has longer chainstays and longer wheelbase. This will make bunnyhops more difficult. High bb's making bunnyhops impossible is a popular misconception. Riders think so because it's considerably more difficult to bunnyhop something with +60 rise than ie. a Pitbull short. This is not because of the frame but the stem/bar combo riders use in their +60 bikes. If you ran the same stem on a GU TP and a Pitbull S, I guarantee you could bunnyhop the TP more easily.
  13. Seems a funny thing to fight over? It's just a GIF. And it hides how much posts you've made. Perhaps the reason why OBM is more than just a member. Imagine having to scroll through 20 pages of square boxes before actually getting to his post.
  14. Dunno if it's been mentioned but Rosin pads for Yellows? Old Monty pads were called rosin pads over here, not sure if that was an official name.
  15. There's no room for testicles!
  16. Never liked Top Cat.... clearly somebody wanted to make a cartoon about tramps but thought giving them a tail and pointy ears would work better.
  17. Haha that bin is one of the funniest stacks I've seen
  18. You might want to ask somebody who uses a bolt through on the rear but certainly a front one with an M4 head is not good enough. I mean it's ok, but very often when I take the wheel out and put it back in, it has to re-align itself in the forks once you start using it. This just shows that the wheel actually moves around in the dropouts even when it's bolted down.
  19. Take a look at some Echo SL parts - front hubs, SL 4bolt forks and Echo brakes. I'm not sure how much vees weigh but a front Echo brake with pads and mounts will be around 250g. You could also go with radial lacing and some light spokes (according to my mate lightest ones that are of any use in trials weigh 135g). Could also consider a Trialtech stem, these weigh a silly 155g. edit: As for Ti skewers, I'd stay away from these. They're really light but don't have much clamping force. And as is the case wit Ti bolts, the heads round off really easily. So that + M4 allen key socket = fail on rear wheel and minor inconvenience on the front wheel. It's actually better to use aluminum bolts where strength isn't a necessity.
  20. Pretty much, though I prefer extended 221Ti's on both mod and stock. Trialtech risers are fantastic, I just prefer even more rise than they offer. So yeah, unless you want to play around with extending bars, get TT's.
  21. Looks great that, thanks for uploading onto IS. Really impressed with how light it is. As far as I can see, it's an almost no-compromise bike meaning you haven't just bought the lightest bits that in the long run make riding a nuisance (constant flats for example). Mine currently weighs in at 9,94kg, going to get it down to 9,17 with ease as soon as the Echo SL shipment is in. Then it gets tough since the weight gains are small and require replacing with very expensive ti/cf parts. Nice!
  22. I don' think that brownish colours go well with trials parts. Brown is the colour of mud, it's depressing. High contrast would be much better, pick some bright and dark colours. edit: didn's see the post above. That's amost what I'd have in mind, though fluo colours are a bit controversial - many riders dislike them. Head tube could also do with being black since it'd fit black forks better. Good to see companies are paying more attention to paint jobs, they really do make a hell of a difference. That's one of the things which distinguishes brands like Monty and Koxx from the rest.
  23. Had quite a bit of experience with DD on a mod. 203mm - never hit it, 180mm - rode that on natural, got really battered and bent but from generally hitting it against pointy rocks. I wouldn't worry about sidehops onto walls, it's irregular obstacles that can be a problem. Anyway, it's really hard to hit a rear rotor when riding street. Don't worry about it.
