  1. What rear rim is that? Looks a bit like the new Echo?
  2. It's amazing how little effort it requires yet the muscle pain starts fairly quickly
  3. I've seen at least 10 videos of different people being lucky when something went wrong on a drop gap. And despite this all of you still do these stupid moves.... Hope you get better soon.
  4. I often ride on my own. It's only then that I get things done. For instance if a riding spot gets boring, you don't have to convince everybody to move on, you just go where you wish.
  5. Lol, they've been availible over here for almost 2 months I think Rides like a Yao Zhi. Fact
  6. Arrr... was supposed to go to bed Got to see this beforehand. Will edit when downloaded edit: Great video I can't believe you've been riding for only a year. A new Tra in the making me thinks. That guy at the end is so creepy
  7. Must have been ~13. Couldn't be bothered to do it any more. I liked it many years ago though, it was such a manly activity and I'd cheer the hairs as they grew along so as to be able to shave again.
  8. More precision moves? People doing taps onto poles and stuff like that. There is a limit to human strength and I don't believe we will have some guy backwheel 6 feet.
  9. Howsexy Getting mine in a few days, can't wait!! Is that the 140x30 stem Dave? How does the bike feel on taps?
  10. Unlucky I remember us going to that shop in Derby and you buying it, I'm sure you didn't think you'd destroy it so quickly Finally got my helmet and I'm always going to wear it. And it looks ace as well
  11. They are incredibly strong but not too flexible so you'd use up most of the power to turn the cranks.
  12. Guess who this is. Soooo characteristic! Isn't he riding a Karpiel?
  13. Trials frames: -2x Monty 221 X-lite (the one with the square bottom tube and the '99 design). Old monty: Broken chainstay from lack of brake booster and material fatigue, newer monty - seat tube snapped off at the bb resulting in a very springy frame. Freeride frames: -Mongoose NX9.7 - 9 cracks and 3 snaps after not landing a stairgap properly. All welded nicely and used for another year.
  14. The holes on the bashguard shouldn't affect the durability in the slightest, nor should those on the cranks. How much this guy has gained drilling these holes is another matter.
  15. It's been about 4 years since Koxx released the first Levelboss. And that's about when the manufacturers started producing low frames, gradually reaching the point where the top tube is straight. Then we've had the Python, another "ridiculous" design, a mod frame with the geometry of a stock bike. Then mods without bashguards, frames filled in with helium, high bb rise frames (note that the majority of the Echo frames have a very high bb). Ok, now we've got stock frames with horizontal dropouts designed for 116mm hub spacing. Millions of colourful and differently shaped parts are available only to make the life of wholesalers more tedious. Oh, and titanium frames - in this case Triton which is becoming more and more popular. And this has all happened within just a few years. Obviously, we can easily guess what trials frames/forks/components will look like in a year or two - they won't change that much. But my god, in 10 years? How popular will trials be then? How many people will be riding and how big a company will Echo be? I dread to think. One thing is certain - people aren't going to stop riding and the sport will become more and more popular and so the manufacturers will have to adapt to the demand of the market. Discuss
  16. It might be a silly question but how long have you been riding in those shoes Neil?
  17. Nothing wrong with him posting it in here, is there? Maybe somebody else can benefit from what he's written, that's after all what this place is all about.
  18. Greetings

    Beau New Vid

I really enjoyed that. Lots of variety and not just drop gaps. Music was also nice, I can remember it from some very old videos.
  19. Going to use your method (with grease etc) tomorrow. I've always had problems with the hub not being in the centre of the wheel and could NEVER get it right But my rear wheel is so bad at the moment that it'll be much better even if I don't get it right... If some of you have a perfect pitch, it might be a good idea to tap the spokes with a screwdriver and listen to the sound they make. A high pitch is made by a tense spoke and a low pitch by a loose one. edit: and this way you can get even tension in all spokes, probably resulting in a straight wheel? Just make sure they all make the same sound.
  20. Interlaced video perhaps? Looks a bit odd but then the quality is too low to judge. Harsh bail, lucky you hit it with the upper part of your back.
  21. That bike is just pure sex!! But what colour is it though? 3 pics and each is different - orange, dark red, mild red edit: requests pictures of disc mount
  22. I'd rather have horizontal dropouts and go through the procedure of setting up the wheel once every month than having a chain tensioner which will weigh more and get in the way.
  23. Me thinks: that bike + silver stem = best looking mod ever
  24. Music was absolutely awful, riding was ok.
