Yep, a Charade I love its silly name, I love the look of it and how it's just so much fun. Actually I'm more excited about this piece of junk than I was about collecting the M3. Budget is 650 quid so got 300 left - got a seat, seatbelts and wheel, need some really good winter tyres, car requires basic maintenance and a steering boss. That's about it.

Bought a new car today, it's the happiest thing on 4 wheels. Got it for 360 quid, was a very long and awful drive though, very bad weather conditions. Took a friend with me to test it out, the test drive was the funniest thing ever. Amazingly good driver, slippery roads and a car which he absolutely thrashed while taking the piss out of it every second. The owner wasn't really bothered, he just gave us the keys and went back home. I drove it once we came back on some snowy roads and it's so much fun. Absolutely love it. Fairly sharp controls, everything works, suspension is good, engine has more than enough power (had 90bhp new, which in a car that weighs 800kgs is nice). It's a bit early to say but I think it's my best purchase ever.

f**k me, is that really true?

People should be allowed to wear whatever they want. Full stop.

Ha, this might be my next car http://otomoto.pl/da...-C27080884.html Sounds like it could be a better alternative to the Justy, much longer wheelbase and a lot more power. Plus the name. Dai Hat Su. I want a Daihatsu in my life. Called the guy, car sounds ok, if all goes well we might buy it Monday/Tuesday. In all fairness, it's cheaper than a set of winter tyres for the M3. Plus it's going to be a LOT faster in these conditions.

Somersby cider is finally available in this country. Been drunk every evening of this week, probably going to grow a belly too. Can't drink enough of this thing.

Has anyone on here owned a Subaru Justy 4wd? Any known weak spots or other things to pay attention to?

Cheers! Here's a compilation from various angles (stationary/roof/inside) + prize giving. Favourite bit must have been 2:37, two absolutely mental corners. It really was a case of full throttle and pray to god that you manage to stay on the track. Seems from the vid the car was in a 3 wheel drift too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSkzRXCKW9E

Onboard from last comp, very quick special stage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLtjju8NbPw Also comparison between one of my runs and my friends who frequently wins our class. Mine was done on a slightly more moist track, earlier in the comp. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jb5_kj0YOfg Got a lot of clips from around the track, going to edit them together later on. edit: Prawn, that shell in the picture isn't my old one, it's very similar though. You've got a good memory!

Surely it can't be that difficult to make a stronger TR freewheel? After all Echo did manage when they introduced this product back in 2009 or something.... The quality has gone downhill a bit since then.
-
SL's are Ti, that's a TR. I've brought this matter up with Echo a few times but they don't seem to see this as a problem. Apparently dealers don't complain (enough?). The failure rate is in my opinion unacceptable, and it's a lot higher than 1/1000 as someone made up on the 1st page. It sucks that trials riders still can't buy a 100% reliable freewheel. They either engage very well and break apart, or skip frequently and erm... don't break apart. Just a few days ago I was trying to replace the chainring from a broken Echo freewheel with a Bonz chainring. I found that the thickness of the Bonz/(generic Monty 221 type) chainring is over 1mm greater. Perhaps that would be something to consider.

Last sprint event of this series/season over. Can't believe the result: 1st place class 5 (above 2000cc, single axle drive) 1st place class RWD 3rd place overall (lost to an Evo and a STR) 3rd place class 5 2012 Going to sort out some vids soon, random pics:

I might be a bit backwards, but to me Biritsh humour is stuff like Yes Minister, Monty Python, Faulty Towers, Two Ronnies... or has it changed recently? The only American humour that I think I'm familiar with are some popular sitcoms with a live audience that helps you determine when to laugh. I can't stand it. So I'm not too sure about what British and American humour stand for these days, but definitely among the shows that I'm familiar with, British comedy wins hands down.

Out of interest, has anyone on here driven a Toyota AE86?
-
Nah, that's the E38 (7 series, my daily driver). It's a common problem with these engines apparently but I never considered doing it. It's probably never been checked. edit: JD should probably have his checked too. M3 is fine and ready for a comp tomorrow. Special stage apparently almost all on the track so my friend is taking part in an M3 GTR rather than his regular M3 so I'd say we're all pretty much screwed. With a bit of luck, I might come 3rd in class. Fingers crossed.

I love my E38 car mechanics. I left the car for a few minor jobs, mostly things that were annoying me for months. And they did all those jobs and also thought it would be a good idea to remove the oil sump. What they found was the oil pump secured to the engine only by the chain it's driven by and and 2 completely lose bolts. 4 bolts were in the sump. Thank you guys, you saved my engine.

I was constantly tired, the reason for that I think was the lack of a challenge in my life. The problem started apeparing after I finished uni, my job generally isn't challenging, doesn't require me to have to go to work (I work at home) and there's little stress involved. I've found that going to bed late (like 1-3am) isn't necessarily good. I find that the later the hours I go to bed, the worse my sleep is and the longer it takes me to fall asleep. In my case there's nothing that makes me have to get up early in the morning but I feel considerably better if I go to bed at midnight and get up at 8am, rather than 10am. Working out a lot also helps battle this feeling. Perhaps stretch in the morning, go jogging. And in the evening do something that requires a lot of physical effort.

Just noticed my D2 suspension is completely shit. Pretty much every corner looks like this with the inner right wheel bouncing up and down: Tried increasing the damping but it doesn't help. Not sure why the inner left wheel doesn't bounce. Can't wait to get my hands on an AST kit and proper slicks for that matter. Front ones rolling like crazy, and rear 595's are no match for proper tyres in terms of grip. Car ready for another sprint event, going to be wet this time. Should be fun, my best results so far have been in the wet, prefably at night too.

f**k. Real or fake? Pretty sure it's not Bruce Lee since it's an ad but..
-
He's got a point though, your car still clearly has an Audi badge on it. I would class your attempt as a slight fail but perhaps I'm missing something.
-
On the subject of what to buy for 17 grand, perhaps this will give you some ideas?
-
I think you'd even find a decent AMG, Audi S or BMW M for that kind of money, so perhaps that's the way to go rather than getting a small hatchback? You'll definitely enjoy the quality/finish these cars have to offer.
