  1. A bike is a tool. Why should it not be used again? What's sick is people who find a reason to complain about everything around them.
  2. As above, or: sprinkle rim with water, drag brake, sprinkle again, dry.
  3. I don't ride an Echo 24" but I use a Bonz stem with the same geometry on a 26" Pure. It feels fantastic so I'd assume it should go just as well with smaller wheels, shorter reach and a higher bb. That'd definitely be my choice on a 24" bike.
  4. It could be that Monty tensioners are 2mm wide each. So if this hub is meant for 110mm frame spacing with tensioners mounted on the inside then you will not be able to use such a hub on a standard 116mm frame.
  5. Monty frames used to have 110mm spacing, not 116mm. Tensioners went on the outside. I'd be cautious when it comes to Monty parts since they like to do things in their own "special" way. Best if you call the retailer you'll be buying the hub from. You're interested in axle width, not so much in hub spacing.
  6. Greetings

    Trust Me!

    My views exactly.
  7. Don't know what the requirements are for such a video but that was fine. Can't fault it in any way.
  8. I think that if Monty are serious about the M5 and actually selling it, they should sacrifice a few frames and publish a similar test video.
  9. Very much depends on the weather, the time of day and my mood. A nice warm evening and a chilled riding style (as in trying to just do things smoothly without going overly big) would call for a form of chillout - used to listen to Aural Planet a bit. Listen to house or club music if I'm trying new stuff or generally feel full of energy.
  10. What's your rotor and wheel size? Also front or rear?
  11. I could be wrong but I'd hazard a guess that Santa Cruz CF is of much higher quality than the generic stuff we get in trials. None the less, despite cringing at the tests they performed, they have made me much more confident about owning a Karbon fork. I didn't know CF was that strong to be honest, especially when it came to the "smash the frame against a sharp concrete edge test".
  12. So, any update on the performance of the MT2 Magura brake?
  13. You must admit though, it is a shitty topic. Even without the shitty posts.
  14. Thought that was a really good episode. Just the right amount of humour and facts. Don't much care for the races they usually have but this one was good. Watched a TED video with Yves Rossy on Saturday, link for those interested.
  15. I bought an Acer Aspire One D257 a few months ago. It was f**king slow, upgraded it with 2GB RAM and a 7200rpm Seagate hard drive. Now it's quick enough for normal use as in I don't get impatient. However, the battery life has become rather awful, probably no more than 1,5h of watching videos or doing other cpu consuming tasks. Perhaps upgrading to SSD would solve this problem, I'm pretty sure the hard drive has caused the battery life to suffer. I'd recommend buying a Netbook with a higher def screen as the usual 1000x800 or whatever it is just isn't good enough. You'll struggle to use Excel, Outlook with a lot of folders and emails is a no-go since there's just not enough room on the screen to display things. edit: oh, and mine came with Windows 7 Starter, that's also a retarded sysem. For example, you can't change the desktop background. Upgraded to Home Premium.
  16. The maggie ones were discontinued because they were too weak. I've snapped 4 in my life, 3 updated forks after roughly 8 months of riding each and 1 fork which was the 1st batch they made after about 10 rides. The disc forks seem to be solid so long as you don't abuse them.
  17. I quite like it, but then I'm just a big fan of Ozonys and Bonz.
  18. Under hard braking? The Panda had it's hazards come on. I think it's a good idea actually. Some older cars had "quad" brake lights with 2 or all 4 on depending on how hard the braking was. Would look a bit silly on the track though.
  19. I wanted an excuse to wear lycra publicly. It gives me a boner.
  20. I'm pretty sure it's the same in every EU country - 60W and over have been banned and their sale is illegal. You can still get 60W+ bulbs but they're classed as heating bulbs. I've got two in a terrarium and the annoying thing is that they're rather expensive and don't produce much light Hate the energy saving ones too, they make me feel like I've got eye problems. You switch them on and still can't see anything until finally after 1 minute they warm up and shine slightly better. I even bought a more powerful energy saving bulb, a 25W I think and it was so big I couldn't fit it anywhere.
  21. Wasn't he lifting 170kg with his index fingers?
  22. Yep, I wasted 5 years riding on a mod. Currently on my 7th year of riding a stock and I'm still loving it. One of my friends was an avid mod rider for many years and he's recently gone over to a 26" bike. As mental as his riding was before the change, it's now become silly. And he openly admits that he wouldn't have dreamt of doing most of that stuff on a mod.
  23. Echo's have a really good feel to them and the closed system is rather a nice touch once you set them up which is a pain in the arse. In terms of power, 160's are great on mod bikes, 180's are great on 24" bikes. But Echo seem to have forgotten about 26" bikes because the 180 just isn't powerful enough.
