depends on the bike you get, but probably cranks and new sprockets/chainrings. i've always wondered about running 2 singlespeed sprockets on a freehub like a pro2 and a dual wheeled tensioner that you can adjust laterally so you could have a tiny sprocket for doing the distance, and a bigger sprocket to give you a truer trials gear...
-
well thats the kinda gear you'd need to acheive versatility, look up hammerschmidt cranks, they use one chainring to acheive 2 different ratio's, but you'd still want at least 5 gears on the back for it to be effective

halfords do sell valve tools....
-
you could always use a file and notch the cams all the way round...
-
with an 18t sprocket on the rear you'd need a 27 tooth sprocket up front to get the same ratio as 18 12 which would be hard to get for burns... you'd still need a bash ring, to protect the chain and sprocket...

Presuming the weather is all fine and dandy, cocky boy, dan cox, onzatrip and I are hitting up leeds. so if you wanna come join the fun...

urbans aren't really heavy though, they're not even 100g more than the SLs (the 09s are 130g more...), i don't think you'd even notice the difference in the forks unless you had a complete SL build to compliment the forks... confidence in your parts makes you a better rider than a lighter bike...
-
so they've designed some beefy looking alloy forks and failed to put brake mounts on them?
-
if i were to invest in such a dedicated set up i'd expect sealed bearings in the freewheel and to be able to order every single part of it...

i dislike that you don't know if members are online whilst browsing. i know you can click on their profile but when you're having a discussion on a thread it's good to know the people your talking to are online so you presume the likelihood of a responce in a timely manner or not...

favourite find doesn't many learn these.... videos that make my all time favorites; tra in HD, all of the other TRA videos are worth your time though, the mans quite simply a boss... Watson and Tunnicliffes offerings, simply for showing how far you can take tgs riding... theres alot more wicked videos out but you can count on these guys to deliver some tasty footage every time...

recon it could continuously inflate your tyre if you had a knarly puncture? that could be handy in a race scenario... my knowledge of tyre pressure affecting off road riding is prety limited but i can imagine there being an advantage to having a lower pressure while descending them hills before jacking it up nice and high to really pin the bike across the flat sections/climbs, more-over would it be possible to even give the pressure guages a glance whilst riding at a high-performance level? or do you have the option of a pre-set pressure, so flicking the lever up or down will allow a specific level of air in/out of the wheel, cause it would be shit if you help it to long going up/down and blew/deflated the wheel... and would the weight gain balance out the potential time savings? makes droper seat-posts seem quite a reasonable upgrade on the scale of "on the fly adjustment" bike tech goes... i hope that doesn't seem like a bashing, i've often wondered when we'd get this on push bikes after seeing it in 4x4s...

can't answer that yet, it's only built up enough so i can roll it to the station to get home and build it... proper pictures will appear on friday or saturday night...

the bbis specific for those frames, so pairing it with the frame when you sell it is probably a smart move...

snapped my zoot so i decided to give the ashton effect a try cause an inspired was way out of budget, i didn't much like the pain job so i thought i'd go for something else... proper photos are comming after i've got some time to get in the workshop and charge my camera... worth mentioning at this point if you currently own, or are considering owning an ashton effect and want to change the paint job you will have a hard time stripping the paint, nitromorse will do it but it still takes days and some of the frame is so hard to reach with a wire brush that it is worth paying to get it dipped if you can get somewhere to do it, i emptied a whole 500ml of wilko's own stripper on the frame and left it for a week and had about 3 small patches of raw metal showing after vigorous brushing...

you sure it's the right X on the disc side? if you increased the X from 2 to 3, the increased angle of the spokes makes them effectively shorter so the rim will be pulled back over the side as there is less give from the loose spokes... unless you just got the wrong spokes... there usually is a bit of a dish to disc wheels though...

second hand... i got a trek sesssion 77 for a little under a grand, the forks are dying and need frequent services to work right, but it's good enough....

downhill and dh require very different things from the geo, so which are you more after? full sus or hard tail?
-
considered the ashton?
