  1. Stop there. Who's saying that Ben? I've sure as hell not seen that in the media, and laws (even recently) have made disabled peoples lives easier. While the government has clamped down allot of benefits and lots of people have suffered, there are still many who haven't. But these figures can only be speculated, but from what i've seen in person, it's not all that bad. The media covers mostly the negative stuff here, and there's too many sources of non mainstream media to read/ listen. Besides, when people are taking advantage of their disability, can you blame the government for clamping down on it? And i mean in the sense of that^^, nothing more irrelevant of their actual intentions. Even so, can you blame people for questioning disabilities? The time has gone when people can give others the benefit on doubt. Is this worth your while? A wonderful example of this is your coat from last week. As you mentioned we've been forced again each other, you rose above this to help. You got scalded, it could of been worse. Now imagen that but many times. How much can one person take before they give in? Not sure where i'm going with that now, but just making some sort of point. Not sure if i buy that one. I wouldn't be surprised if Vodafone's entire revenue from day one didn't even make it. Where did you get that information from? How do we know the deficit's actual amount? Isn't it like a trillion £ Vodafone's apparent revenue for last year was £32 billion. If both of these figures are correct, then your source is majorly wrong. While i don't entirely believe any of it, it would be silly too.
  2. Keep forgetting to make this. I normally exhaust a genre with a few specific albums before moving on. Now i'm back on DnB and sad stuff. So i would like some recommendations for sad music. Doesn't have to be moving or dramatic, and probably better if it wasn't. String instruments like harps are pretty awesome, along with violins. Classical, instrumental, new age/ vocal (though no shitty story vocals), & electronic. Don't have to give a link, just a name of artist or song/ piece. Thanks.
  3. Sounds pretty metallic to me Not sure if it counts, but until 2041 no-one is allowed to mine or drill the arctic. I suspect we have about 28 years left of oil in the current places we drill Pretty interesting. I suppose it makes sense, and maybe why dinosaurs were so successful.
  4. Anyone on Destiny? I can't wait, but it's probably over hyped. Though as a worst case scenario it'll be alright.
  5. You were an alcoholic? Feel free to pm me if it's too embarrassing or whatever for the forum, i'm curious! Or just ignore me
  6. Cool riding. Hopefully see you riding somewhere, sometime!
  7. Cool vid! Pretty hefty gaps going on. No wonder he's sponsored by Jaf.
  8. As you're gagging for some attention/ feedback... Try to eliminate unnecessary hops, speed up your lines slightly (no need to rush), trackstand (don't hop about), make videos shorter! Cannot emphasize that enough. Too many people make lengthy videos with repetitive moves. Dual edits are a good move, so stick with that. Try to learn some new stuff. Sidehop gap 90* to back wheel, roll over more stuff, pedal and brake (a back hop gap but without hop), 180* sidehops (length not height), rock walks (please no more than 2 per video!), a bunny hop, etc etc. As for views, they mean nothing most of the time. It's all about the likes. If you force people to watch, you're just cheating yourself. You have more views than some of my vids and i've probably 10 years of experience on top of yours (best way i can put it). You've done a video, now learn some stuff over the next several months and come back with another video in August, it'll be better and feel better too.
  9. As my post stated. Not passing driving test first time is no big deal. Though it's school boy error to mention any form of test to people. to be honest most people are actual pussies and can't handle even a little bit negativity anyway. If you want to stay in that group of people, then you're destined to be a target by others. This topic isn't going to make any difference, your mind isn't going to change from reading positive or negative posts in here. Get on with your life, get on with your self harm, it's all a learning process. You need mistakes to learn from. If you've never made any mistakes in your life, it's probably been boring. hah. Thanks
  10. That wasn't my point. I mean if the small pockets can't be found or we die before we use all the small pockets up. Doesn't make sense in my head either
  11. TF C word vagina to fanny auto correct.
  12. Yes! isn't it ironic how the things i like about this phone are now the things that are going to irritate me. I've turned the internet fully off between (only forum) internet sessions. If i get down to 20mb before i get more data, the sim's coming out!
  13. That was pretty cool post. I can relate to that. Depression is stupid, and how you suddenly wake up is odd. I think there are different types of depression. Everything that i've felt is common, and always illogical. But when i was a kid, i remember i was sat on a wall waiting for a lift and i think the lift was a long time away or wasn't coming at all (can't remember). But my friends Mum offered me a lift but i refused cause i was enjoying freezing in the cold. I remember it being bitterly cold. Which is another point, depression becomes enjoyable, again not logical. But maybe it's the mind leveling itself out, and keeping itself depressed by it being a preferred feeling helps it until the balance is set. I do think it's all natural and shouldn't be labeled. Just like allot of "disabilities", they all have names which i don't think helps. People with OCD, "learning difficulties", ADHD etc. I know when i walk over lines, spin my lighter, flick the wheel out on the bike etc, it has to be done equally opposite. It doesn't make a difference if i'm not paying attention to it, but i know these days i can mostly ignore it and it's fine. When i was a kid it was real annoying and i didn't know what the hell it was. But i got on with it and it was fine as i learnt on my own to say "no" to myself. If someone had found out and told me it had a name and that i had something/ suffered from something, that would of probably been worse. I do think allot of mental issues/ problems come from too much time alone. There's allot of evidence for it too, but whatever. If you HAVE todo something (like work), then you ain't going to be thinking about random stuff, because you physically can't. While this doesn't apply to another type of depression when it's not a mindset, but you're actually sad about love, death etc, then i think it can be ignored without even trying. I also think harming yourself could just be a call for help/ attention subconsciously beyond your control. When thoughts about suicide had crossed my mind, they'd only ever been about suicide and the effects they'd have, not actually about committing suicide. There's a definite difference, that's why i'm happy to mention it. I also think people calling this selfish is bullshit. It's just as selfish to have yourself live for others to not be sad. Because there's more of them than you, does it make it right/ fair? Your life, your choice, essentially. I also slowly discovered in the past few years there's allot in life to be had in the way of interests and hobbies, IF you can find them. While i never stood away from riding for over 10 years, my recent time off was the first i've properly had. No XC, nothing. And it was amazing! If i had told myself about that experience some years ago, i would of been like wtf i don't believe you. Go find some more hobbies and interests, i'm actually overwhelmed right now with interests. What i'm saying is, don't become obsessed with something. There was a discussion on this recently on a game forum. The guy said once he broke free of competitive gaming he was no longer stressed and anxious. That he was more friendlier around friends and family. If you're young, like under 21, being depressed is normal and shouldn't be worried about. to be honest i think if you're rational enough to be depressed but able to type up something you ain't that bad and will probably randomly wake up out of it and be like "wtf was i thinking". No doubt if you read this you WILL disagree, but then when you wake up you'll realise. From my experience and allot of others, i guess you just gotta wait. I wish i had kept what i wrote up when i was younger, just for curiosity. Exercise, fruit & vegge (no sugar), daily routines of actually doing stuff (no PC), 7 hours sleep, not being alone, and a hobby will set you straight if you can achieve them. I'm gonna contradict myself and say that i think it's just all natural sadness and not really depression. For some it may be more prominent than others. But depression should be left for those who really are messed up from loosing something big in their life and are at a dead end financially and no friends and possessions as well. The word depression is also now such a word that it's frowned upon just because of what's associated with it. If we were to suddenly rename it, and call people with it something else then i'm sure it would have a different feeling. But yeah, whatever. Oh and also about talking to someone. I know the biggest challenge would be the talking bit, and it doesn't matter who it was. So i would try to find someone to listen, but find something to say, even just a little as the rest should follow. Maybe even try and write it down and give it to someone if you can.
  14. I have a smartphone and i would happily stamp on it if i get such requests via txt. H4LO. Looks like i'm keeping this thing now. Seems to pissing me off less and less now. The internet is fun and informative for lunch breaks, and i found the music player has a 30min turn off feature which is cool for sleeping. Though i've killed 900mb of data in 10 days. ermmmmmmm what?
  15. If we run out of oil and gas then i'm sure we'll be using another taxable energy source which is more eco friendly. Yes i said "if". The number statistics are rubbish imo. They are based on such minuscule timescales. At work i was thinking, would it be better if we helped those in current trouble rather than helping everyone of the future? I didn't think of an answer. But i also don't think there is an answer. I can't remember from earlier what i came to say, so that's it.
  16. Hate to be fanny, but i'm with the rest of the riders and say it's not a barrel roll. But it is a double flip which tbf is good enough anyway.
  17. But yet "they" have time for an opinion. What is being asked is that people use this available time to relearn about their current understandings, but yet people refuse to because of subconscious thoughts. Until i talked to Ben in person, i wasn't sure what he was asking. But what he was asking, was what i was doing anyway. But from Ben's perspective you have to; to fully understand why people are making the choices they are. Talking about these topics doesn't require such thinking, but when talking about why, who etc, it does. I can't explain myself via typing, never can.
  18. Was only a matter of time before this thread went off somewhere else i guess. To those who didn't read all the stuff, there was some philosophical meaning behind certain posts. Those were the main ones, but the majority of people are too wrapped up in their lives to try and understand such philosophical matters. Just for the record, i believe in the modern day Illuminati. But it has quite a loose meaning now, so in the form of "one controls all", i think is true. It's not hard to comprehend some from of something owns all the money. Obviously there are independent countries and nations, but i'm sure even they have some money being exported. It's definitely a weird one.
  19. It was free. as mentioned. Tell me to why it's so good, that's what my initial post asked. I don't want to be too hasty is returning in if it as good as you say it is. So please list these things, as otherwise you're not answering my initial question.
  20. Agreed with all that, and i read about Jellybean too. Understanding technology more is the reason why you'd think this/ these phone is/ are dumb. I waited to reply until i had some more time using this thing. I've got rather complacent with using Firefox now, killed 500mb with downloading apps and stuff. Checking the awesome Metcheck weather app, email app, news, forums and information is real real nice but unneeded. I feel like i'm being sucked into this thing, like a film on TV where you know you don't care, don't want to watch, have things todo but can't stop until the adverts come on so you can get up and turn the f**king things off. I now see why everyone has lost their eyes to one of these things. If i stop moving, i'm on it! While it does save me from checking emails/ (daily routine stuff that you have to do) when i get home, i don't think it's really saving much time. The internet looks lush on this compared to the 6303, i can also watch Twitch TV (gaming streams) on work breaks also, and other Youtube bollocks. So it's been almost 2 weeks, and i've got so far as to getting some apps to make my phone's life easier/ faster, bought a 32gb micro SD card (£15), but not even moved anything from my computer to it, or even taken a photo. I previously thought it would be great to have decent photo capabilities just in case. But you know what, when do i really need to take a photo of something that's cool/ unusual?! (most people with these i think only use it so they show FB stuff that you wouldn't even mention in normal conversation anyway, that's how un-important the pics are) GPS, i've used this a bit, and it's still great! But when Satnavs on Amazon appear to have many good reviews at £30-£50 i wonder.. Qwerty is still a pain, and requires me to be accurate. Though i did go back 1-9 number pad, and it's easier todo but messy with having to switch between pads for the use of symbols. Why not use T9 etc? I personally want to type how i want to type and using qwerty is still going require me to look. I've looked at some apps for better pads but nothing seemed that great. The loudspeaker, still isn't that loud either. Using it in the car isn't any better than previous phones. Soo the conclusion, very tempted to send this back. If it can cost me £160, it would be going back for sure. Camera's are overated. If you know you're going somewhere special/ different you'd take a camera anyway. GPS, flawless. Google maps etc. Possible saving over £50+/- if you haven't a Satnav already. Portable internet. Nokia 6303 checked emails/ forums/ FB to a low standard, this Ace 2 does is much "nicer", but that's all. Apps that only perceive you to thinking they're helping you out. Works slower as a phone. Cannot be dropped even once. I would REALLY question why you would want a smartphone atm. The technology is still young and frankly shit. You could save money over buying a camera, sat nav, mp3 and another phone versus just this. But you'd be carrying an expensive, fragile, large device everywhere. But the price is very negligible and up for big debate i think.
  21. I used to say/ do them things because it was funny. Yeah being a mong is unintentional but when it feels good, you just go with the flow. Though it can change people, it can dull them down, it can do allot of things, but it all depends on the person. Smoking dope 24/7 does have odd effects from person to person, but once it's given up, people do go back to normal. I personally don't think there are any permanent effects from smoking dope, but it can take years to overcome. As for the actual topic or maybe the philosophy of it, i spoke to Ben about it last night as his posts here appear to come across in different ways. From me questioning him on certain aspects, it basically comes down too: -people should acknowledge there are problems in the world -people should make a continued effort to educate themselves about problems in the world due to society being intentionally or unintentionally clouded from topics that effect socities that aren't are own. -people should share and communicate with one another about topics and learn/ understand -people only then can make informed choices on how to make changes (by voting?) And the biggy point is (which took me a while to understand from Ben's talking is) -the effort put in is an in-measurable about, meaning no single person can warrant their effort is more relevant or meaningful than anyone elses. But it's only one person's view from a moral perspective, which is what it all comes down to. As i still believe your beliefs can be made as 'questionable' from another person's perspective who does make more effort then yourself. But to me, that's perfectly understandable whether anyone agrees or not, and i will not change my opinion on that.
  22. It's taken me forever to read this god damn thread, f**k. I was reading it on my breaks and when i got home. There's been some good reading, if all a bit too much for my liking on a Friday afternoon. Firstly, I don't think anyone in this thread can say whether or not stuff is true, blah blah, because we're all not educated enough. Secondly (i forgot what Mark's first post was about but i remember it being good), Mark's second post was very good though. Ben you've not offered anything as to what we're supposed to do other than tell us to read stuff and calling us lazy for not reading it. Secondly, global warming isn't fully understood. There are many factors which people (scientists/ journalists etc) don't take into consideration because they don't fit the theory, or it isn't understood enough to be put into the theory. I bet most people didn't know Coccolithophores are more responsible for maintaining CO2 levels than the rain forests and greenery of the earth (or so i'm led to believe). There are that so many of these Coccs that they can be seen from space. Also we're still unsure how much effect solar activity plays in the Earth's climate. And that's just 2 points. What about the other stuff? The Arctic is on the no go list for drilling and mining until 2041. You failed to state that point Ben which backs up your argument. So you can't of done that much thorough reading. Trying oh so hard to keep this short. And lastly. If people want to change stuff, you have the choice. Vote ffs. "voting doesn't change shit, blah blah blah", f**k off. Start your own party or "educate" people and start a revolution. But be prepared to give up your life; that means your food, GF/ Wife, electricity and fuel. People seem to forget the positives the government brings us. Just two basic things off the top of my head, i get to ride my bike and an increase to 9k tax free earnings shortly. Those two sound pretty good to me. While i don't defend the greed and ignorance of the government i know my life isn't shit enough to not have morals which i can stand on. That's just my view. I pay tax, am honest and kind, so that's good enough for me. "what about the other stuff, 3rd world poverty etc". Well until you fly out there and help them, STFU. (our tax is supposed to aid them).
  23. Virgin gave me a free Galaxy Ace 2, how nice. But means i'm tied into a 24 month contract. I pay 20p more a month but with the same stuff, quite adequate? I've got 14 days to try this thing out and can send it back for free if i don't like it. Or i could sell it for £100 perhaps and buy something better. Also my Nokia 6330 classic, the speaker no longer works. So phone calls are a pain using loud speaker only. So Galaxy Ace 2: Shit battery, as expected Shit as a phone. Takes so long to make a call with shitty shortcuts Shit at txting. Qwerty touch is wank. Too slow and can't be done without looking Satnav/ GPS awesome. I need one of these! Vids and pics, not interested i have better music player with amoled screen, superior sound and battery Internet surfing is kinda cool. But my nokia 6330 did email and forums fine. Youtube, not bothered yet. Decent camera will come in handy, so that's cool. These phones seem overly tailored to people who must get up to date information on pointless things such as FB. The whole thing is gimmicky and a nuisance. "i must sync with this todo this, and i must access this todo this," Bullshit, f**k off. I want another Nokia 6303 classic but with a better screen, processor and photo lens. Other annoyances. Pinch to zoom, f**k, just stay at the same zoom for every page already, i am eating with my other hand. Not being able to change the layout of the main screen. Making a shortcut for a contact on the main screen only to give me shit like FB, email etc. Setting an alarm, have i got to make a shortcut for this too? I will make so many shortcuts that i'll need folders just to organise my shortcuts. Reminders, ^the same^ This is stuff i can only remember in the 2 days i've used the f**king thing. Are there actually any advantages to this phone other than camera, internet, GPS?
