    Tea or Coffee

Back on Tea. Will give it up again probably though. Just another dirty addiction. I used to prefer Coffee, then i made the switch, then i quit. Now i'm back. It's also expensive. [edit] Which is better for you. I say neither. Both lead to excessive use, and needless spending. True it's got cancer preventing properties, but so has everything.
  2. Add me to FB and i'll introduce you to some. It's eskimo4130 on the end of FB.com
  3. ^^I do see what you mean actually. Nice vid Sean. Was pretty good, heavier gear it looks like now. Funny thing is, my favourite line was the only trials line. Pedal slide to hop up, liked that one!
  4. Surrounding areas are poor. Some places may have spots tucked away, others were good aren't good anymore. Few riders exist under rocks in these areas. Bristol is the best for spots and riders. Oxford, unsure on riders now, but healthy bmx & skate scenes, and lots of parks. Spots are alright too. Swindon is alright to ride, but riders are few. Those from Swindon ride Bristol.
  5. Marco Groseneck. I only know it, cause he is my favourite mod rider. You've either got the Monty style or you haven't, most people haven't. The Gerado Garcia ultimate mod video is another example of the Monty style. This is what you're looking for.

    Precursor.

Looks like it will be good!
  7. Same thoughts here. I think this one managed to do less gimmicky stuff so got away with it. Also it didn't have a stoopid tune, which was good. But the cutting of shots in typical fashion were sucky. Surprised to see him on a 26". He's a bit of a monster on mod, no difference here it seems.
  8. OP- Good luck with your frame. Should be fun when it's done. I think this is just a hobby for him. Speak/ search Marino for cheap/ affordable customs.
  9. Must have missed that one. Link? Yeah prizes are a large incentive. But the general attitude of TF is poor. Everyone is too quirky (for a lack of a better word) with each other. People don't dare step out of their riding group in case of meeting someone on TF who had a different opinion. A serious lack luster of group rides now. Proof is in the pudding or some shit like that. People with lack of time. hah. Manning just had a kid.
  10. Yeah, pretty sweet. You definitely have that european 24 style to your riding.
  11. 7 teams, pretty poor turnout. But i guess the weather had a massive impact on this. Would of liked to come play, but didn't even know about it. Guess others probably had the same issue too.
  12. The news. There's always action on it. Quest has had some decent stuff on recently.
  13. Linear on back, regular on front. In my experience decent mtb ones are good for the front. XTRs can be flexy is long, but soooo lush to pull with. Even if not doing spinbar moves, the stiffness of the linear will help with overall stiffness, surprisingly? Even if you just run the outer, a decent stainless cable will be fine once lubed. Some come with teflon coatings and such, but aren't worth it imo as before the cable degrades you'll be switching them out for safety reasons.
  14. I missed that completely. Maybe cause it wasn't full screen, google chrome is playing havok with videos at the moment. I did wonder what the above comment was about. Touche.
  15. Guy on 24 has the exact same style as J.D on here. Nice vid.
  16. What the hell was up with that tune?! Regardless nice riding. The trackstand made me laugh, legit/ easy way out.
  17. Bump to wallride was certainly decent. Liked it, sweet spots too.
  18. If the rules do change and the people who are going to this start becoming semi-regulars then it'll draw in more casual jeans wearing people too. At which point i'll start trying to ride them too
  19. Without an overhaul i think it would be hard. And without massive complications too, which i know you've try to prevented too. Even with a time limit on a dab, it would make the observer's job a lot harder. The space between fun/ casual and competitive trials in a competitive environment is way to big and difficult to close. You could argue there's no room for fun in a competitive environment, but then we're just left with the current situation as it is. And with tgs street, people one upping each other a sidehop is different because it offers several different ways of doing the sidehop while to providing a clear winner. Except when the cards mysteriously get mixed up.
  20. I overlooked that part about cheating. I experienced it, and was just like, "what's even the point of riding?!" ...from there perspective, not mine. So this would help, but so would better lined out sections. But that can be difficult i know to do, when sections cross especially. The whole dab and you're out thing i still think could be done better. Strategic dabbing again is just cheating in essence. Can't ride your bike? Use your foot instead! So it does address that which is especially good. But say you wheelspan like a retard or got your trouser caught cause you forgot to trouser clip (first section of the day), therefore put your foot down; hard luck, go queue for the next section. Highly depressing as the dab would also allow you to be like, "shame but it's only a point, i can try and clean this to make up for it". I just think the whole competition trials needs an overhaul instead of a tweak. Over the years i've often read "come to an event, it'll be fun". Cheaters, queue pushers among the other issues previously mentioned.
  21. Nice idea, but i don't think it makes any difference. Being able to go through an easier part of a section may help people get through it. But currently if you're going there to win, you'll ride hard on whichever colour you're doing. If you're going there for fun, you won't care where you placed. A "5" on either rule setting still results in a, "get off the section you f**ked it", which i can only see being beneficial to the competitive people for the extra points. It's often in a location where street riders aren't overly keen on too. An event where a comp exists, food exists, toilets exist, socialising exists and a fun ride the next day exists would be way more beneficial to kick starting the comp scene better. I went to a comp once. It was fun, but i haven't been to another. For the record, i have wet weather mod bike even.
  22. SPDs will do that to you, just watch the downhill pros even. Where to start? Get a budget. Decide on second hand or new given positives/ negatives. Buy 20" Ride 20" Done. A trials bike will feel like absolute dirt to you. Wonky, long, unstable and just plain dumb. If you don't dare fall off again, don't bother with the sport. Honestly falling off is all part of the fun, as long as it's not on your head.
