  1. Slowly being regulated. I think it's currently at the discretion of the company. Though planes and trains don't allow e-cigs, or at least the ones i went on. Also it's already considered socially unacceptable by allot of people. Though some commend the effort with a comment. I currently know of only one brand of e-cig that are being sold near me as i live in a town. It's £8 for 5 refills. A refill will last 2 days at best. The problem also it's hard to regulate how many you use. Smoking is a habit, if that habit can be replaced with an easier habit, it doesn't work so well. You can pace how many fags you smoke, it's harder to pace an e-cig because it keeps going. Though with practice i found it quite helpful and was able to limit it's usage, but still, wayyyyy too expensive. Joining in on the bandwagon hate club. Bikes have killed my body, retirement age for me is likely to be 70. The rest speaks for itself. This is not in defence of smoking, but in defence of your comment.
  2. The whole smoking vs not smoking argument is bollocks. Pros, cons, apples, oranges. Addictions effect people differently. And i'm sure there's no intekigent smoker out there who wishes they weren't a smoker, i mean a non-smoker and not an ex-smoker. E-cigs cost me more than fags. They helped for sure, but in the end i couldn't bare spending more. This country's control on everything is getting ridiculous. Soon you'll need a licence to buy groceries.
  3. I was hoping there'd be a picture in here! I'm sure there's some mtber somewhere who'd busted out into the 50"s. Allot of people can get to 45" without much issue, so 5" isn't really much. And with some riders being over 6' and half foot tall, again wouldn't be surprised.
  4. I've done the majority of 'social' things by myself. I like it, it's not any less enjoyable without people for myself. But the majority of people are too dependant on friends. I've only ever been asked while riding my bike solo about why i'm alone.
  5. This is partially a stupid question, but how do you actually kill someone with a sword? Like a leg or arm chop? Loss of blood cause it hit an archery? Severe nerve damage, or straight off head chop? Severely odd. Guess it was spur of the moment thing.
  6. Doctor will give you a referral to physio. Gonna be another month before they contact you. So get £30/40/50 and go see a private one for some fast help if inpatient and just explain the deal if the doctor wasn't enough help. They should be able to give some decent advice which a doctor couldn't give with half hour, cause that's all your gonna get for that money. Sometimes rest can be wrong thing todo with injuries, get it checked out.
  7. Not really sure what this is about, but i'll go with it. +1 to the comment.
  8. Strange, interesting bike. Though that HA probably gives a bit of room. Cool vid, smooth as per usual. Does this guy still ride? I'd love to see him ride now.
  9. Typical Euan + some more awesome stuff. Bench to bin and front to back on post was smooth. Camera quality wasn't an issue on 32" except maybe the noise cause of the light.
  10. Some riders can and others can't. Though some bikes can catch you out. I wouldn't say it's todo with skill, but experience.
  11. I did, and i made a joke at his expense. Something most people failed to grasp here.
  12. I'm sure you can handle not surfing Facebook regularly for 2 months. And if you can't, well i can't even describe my feelings towards you.
  13. That's probably the best way. Run a decent trials freewheel on the back or run a Profile with a big driver. As for turning an existing bmx into a trials rig, not worth it, in the sense of changing stuff. You'll need a long ass frame, 22" minimum if you want to sidehop anywhere near a reasonable height comfortably. And running a trials gear isn't going to benefit on a short bike. You can happily hop up walls, do some back hops on a normal un-modified bmx. Just tweak them brakes, and if you get somewhere with gaping on the bmx then lighten up that gear slightly. Though a 24" trials or bmx would probably be a nice inbetweener.
  14. Yes, because he's subject to ridicule, it's the rules. So just you remember that JD when your business makes it's first million, as we'll come harassing you on Facebook
  15. That was really good! But why no footage from Ali??

Are the "requirements for doing well" the same as last year? If so, people need to actually think about their riding instead of going out and just filming. The idea (besides fun and winning cool stuff): -was to think about your current riding style, find it's flaws and improve on them. -do some trials in a quirky new way -put some hard effort into filming, editing and riding. (tripod filmers were judged on choice of shot) -do some trials in ways you hadn't done before. ie. do a line, or make that move harder for the sake of making it harder -try a different style of riding you hadn't tried before -some other stuff Ben will probably mention Yeah the top contenders for winning were Inspired riders (even if they didn't make it onto the podium in the end), because they ticked the requirement boxes. I saw some great TGS from people and some great street, but it was nothing that i hadn't seen from THEMSELVES before. Regardless of your skill level it's possible to do well. I judged the amateur category and it was hard! I could tell who knew what they had todo and who put the effort in. Yeah i probably scored some highly skilled riders right down with 5 out of 10 scores because they never ticked the boxes. I'm not going to blabber on anymore. I just feel Ben got some unnecessary shit from people who didn't agree with certain things because they either were too lazy to read the requirements, or just couldn't be arsed to try and understand them and preferred a who can sidehop/ footjamwhip better competition. Hell there's a move for you todo right there, a footjamwhip sidehop, who could dislike that?! Now you just need to choose whether todo it smooth, big, or filmed in a cool way. Or maybe do it without the foot, with a seat grab, or naked. I've given you 6 ideas with one trick! [edit] I had no intention of entering this. But then i had an idea. But i have no time. So i'll try my best. HFGL
  17. Never enjoyed that kinda style when you're camping cause it isn't just about the riding.
  18. So who's done it? I saved a leaflet and put it on my todo list, but only just got round to doing it. It took 2 minutes to fill in, literally just name, address and phone number. As previously thought it would require some checks etc, but yeah it doesn't. One day i will donate some blood too. Again, on the todo list So how about it? Eye for an eye.
  19. Yes a sad day when it was discontinued.
  20. Golfers elbow is different. I had tendonitis a while ago and it takes a long time to go. It can reoccur real easy to. I still use a mouse left handed now for prolonged use. If i was you, get to NHS physio for advice and ditch the PC right away. It will only get worse as the muscles tire. Or learn left handed. Trigger point therepy helped me but it isn't a cure. When i first got it i couldn't even manual anymore. The few days previous to it i was riding fine with the same slight pain. So that's just a heads up.
  21. I'm on pc now so i can reply properly this time. Only £300 over budget I wanted some power and speed, but i don't actually need it. to be honest i don't even think i should leave myself £500 for one. I just don't trust laptops to last, though i've never had one. I think 13" is a good shout. Ultrabooks are expensive. I guess i'll try and get something basic but ligh/ small from a good brand. Like an i3 with 4gb. But the lack of Windows 7 models is slightly concerning.
  22. Is Acer a bad call full stop then? What brand? Windows 8? Thought Tf was the one for pc tech heads?
  23. Tech thread got closed, sooo lets have another pc tech thread in here. Tablet, no good. Need a keyboard and OS to actually do stuff. Chromebook. As above. Netbook. Still appear to be underpowered for use other than internets. Mac. Do one. Laptop. Heavier, larger, battery draining? versus Ultrabook. So how are Ultrabooks? I need something to keep me occupied on some loooong upcoming journeys. Basic videos, and basic games. I'm talking games from 2000 and before. (i will have power socket). I will need access to the internet for information and banking. I would like to use it as a portable music source. No drive required. So must have usb ports. Webcam, blutooth and bs isn't required. Windows 8? Looks and sound poo. Apparently hard to downgrade from? I said f**k it and bought an ultrabook on Amazon from their warehouse deals as you get a month of use for free. It's an Acer S3. Probably loaded with bs software. 13.3" i5- 2467m 4gb 240gb SSD, which is what sold it for me. Do these help save power at all? HD integrated 3000 graphics Windows 7 1.3kg So should be pretty good. Cost £365. Worth it? Or would i do better elsewhere and/ or with something else? I was looking at new mainly but saw this as it was W7 and SSD all the way. I think £500 should be sufficient for a decent machine but obviously less is better.
  24. It's partially an image thing. Some people try it, found no advantage or fun so stayed with brakes. Some know it's just effort and a disadvantage for themselves. Some can't be bothered to re-learn. Others follow others (who have brakes). Some think it's too street/ bmxy/ uncool/ reserved for 24"ers. Brakeless trials is fun for a change, but trying to ride pure TGS all the time would get dull, quick. This is pretty much shown from the majority of riders who are brakeless use the advantages for tricks and not for trials, where i found there wasn't a single advantage. Unless of course you felt the need to learn pedal pressure. I rode brakeless bmx for years before i got back into trials so my opinion is probably different. Depends what trials really. I think comp stuff the rider wouldn't finish, obviously on basic routes it would probably not be an issue. But street, unless you're trying to stop on the rear after a gap/ drop/ up the rest is easy. Tap, to manual. Gap, land sideways. Sidehop, ermm, jump? At least i found TGS on walls no different. Yeah, i'd get shit from my friends if i dared mention making a route on the streets. Wecomes to the interents. While i think it's good, i also think it's bollocks. Love TF but f**k TF.
