  1. For mass production, in the long run, CNC is cheaper. You cant compare welding and CNC as they are not nearly the same process, like I said above a more fitting example would be that of a milling machine. When any bike company decides to use CNC machining they dont turn round, and train someone who hasn't used cad before, they will simply employ a cad operative who whould be able to knock up a machining program within a week. If CNC isnt much cheaper/better, then why is it at the forefront of engineering??? I doubt its because its expensive and crap..... If by this you mean the cost of the machine makes the process more expensive, then yes, for a one off your right, but were talking about mass production. Like I said above, there not gonna train anyone, there gonna employ one CAD guy who should be able to do all the drawing of the components aswell as making the machining programs.
  2. Funny. Im referring to the bit about the son stealing his dad's wife bit
  3. Didn't i see this happen with bart and homer on the simpsons a few days ago????

    10ft Drop

Looks sweet to me, just hold on tighter. Hmm, what would I know after at least 3 years of not riding?
  6. What they've said plus its a great way to make lots of high quality components with a minimal (unnoticable) differance. Edit:Its also Cheap, it would take a man a day to make one bottom bracket yoke in a milling machine, thats if you could find someone experianced enough! A CNC machine can churn out things in minutes, seconds depending on the detail and tolerance, and once its set up, you dont even need to pay it.
  7. There's a new version out today, that will have been the cause of the problems. MSN status said about an hour ago there would be problems signing in and if you wer signed in it probobly wouldnt work properly anyway! Im online now doesnt seem to be any problems.... EDIT: 19.17 and its been dowon for 20 minutes for me now, service status page is not found....
  8. Cheaper than a chris king, but perhaps not as reliable. From what ive read on here, the general consensus seems to be that chris king is the daddy for rear freewheel, while the ENO is the best for front freewheel, there is a big price differance there.....

    Cheques

I know! Originally I went to the bank to ask them to do a bank transfer as the online banking site had gone down temporarily, the nice lady said that it would have a surcharge of £20 which put me off a bit, so I said ill just write a cheque. She offered do print me one out and as I wanted to get everything sent off asap I agreed, thinking that it would just be the same procedure as if I wrote the cheque myself.(money wont leave my account untill its gone into his) Had that been the case, I wouldn't have had a problem as i'd have known that he hadnt actually cashed it yet. No idea what was wrong with the cheque, but im just glad to have gotten my money back. I guess we learn from our mistakes....

    Cheques

Hmm, well two weeks on, and I have the cheque back. Obviously looking back, I was getting stressed about nothing but I definately wont ever be getting counter-cheques from the bank EVER again. The way the system works is balls, they take the money out of my account as soon as I get the cheque handed to me, but then it apparently has to wait 7-10 days before it clears, thats provided there are no problems with the cheque (which apparently there are) Where exactley has my money been for the past 2 weeks???? Hasnt been in my account for sure, or the sellers.Perhaps the bank were busy making money with my money before they wanted to give me it back. Anyway, sorted now, got my money back, still have to get a goddamn bike now!

    Halfords......

I'd do it myself, can't imagine many people wanting a bike on new years day, not to mention the fact that most people would assume you'll be closed anyway.....
  12. 3 words... Bighit on mini. Talk about fuel consumption!
  13. Id love to see a stress analysis of that thing in action... im guessing its more for aesthetics than function?

    Cheques

hmm yeh, its taken until today for stuff coming from the next town which was posted on friday to get here, so maybe, just maybe itll be here tomorrow. However the way things have been going lately, I wouldnt be a bit suprised if this was just abother thing to pile on to the heap of shit which is life at the minute... Also, is it a good idea to leave referances for someone if the deal hasnt completed, but you feel that communication during the deal could have been made better.

    Cheques

Still £190 down, and no bike. I do believe I've gotten well and truely f**ked up the ass here guys. Apparently there was a problem with the cheque. My seller said he got it back from his bank on friday and sent it on friday morning, 1st class, I still havnt got it today and the post has been and gone. This is really starting to f**k me off now.

  19. I dont understand how you could get the freewheel off without danaging the threads its attached to if he uses a grinder? You couldnt elaborate a little at all?
  20. Perhaps a saucer of milk would help with the cat fight?
  21. Sweet good to know, I have 4 stickers sheets from MBUK a few years ago (when I thought it was good, bought the latest and its shite..... If only I had a bike to stick them to.....
  22. I heard that too, take it into consideration before stickin them on
  23. If it wasnt working now, chances are it wouldnt be working a fe wmonths down the line either. My last g/f and I ended up parting after 2 and a half years (im only 19) about 6 months ago, to be honest it should have been over 3 months before that but we procrastinated, because we had never been in a situation like that and wanted to see how things would go. People change, even in a year. We ALLWAYS said we'd be good friends, even if we did break up. Since we split up, I havnt had a conversation with her..... i'm a little bitter about it but you simply have to accept the fact that sometimes things are not meant to be, and the sooner your able to do that, the sooner things will start to get better. Here I am 6 months down the line and I can now look back on it as a learning experiance, whenever the same things that happened before happen again, ill know whats in store. It could be so much worse, at least you have a bike to take your mind off things, I sold mine to buy her a birthday present Doh!
