  1. i downloaded it for a bit of fun on my netbook as it is hardly ever used now iv got an ipad and a new desktop and so I'm not impressed at all. All the new features wont work on a screen with a resolution as low as on my netbook so for me it was a complete waste of time. The annoying thing is though that the software that checks if you are compatible with windows 8 did not mention that my screen res would be an issue. i have not had a proper play as yet but il post again if when i have more of an view on it all. However it did take around 6 hours to download and install and we don't have slow connection by any means.
  2. Quite fancy getting into film a little I have never used film. Fancy something quite small relatively easy to use. Budget is a bit tight to be honest so can anyone recomend anything to look for second sub 100 and possibly even sub 50. One thing I have seen is the Olympus trip. Can pick them up for about 50 quid. Thanks Joe
  3. I think it must be auto as it has no manual controls on it at all. Would you be so kind as to write a little how too, or would you be interested in doing a couple of mine for a few beer tokens. Manual flashes are hard to find due to the demand now but you can pick up old auto flash guns for pence, as you have already found. Nice riding photo,by the looks of it is flash lit, did the riders mind the flash at all, only reason i ask is i may be going to couple of dh races this season with a mate of mine and quite fancied getting some shots . IMG_4343 by Jimyjoe, on Flickr quick photo from today. not technically the best photo ever but just caught my eye after sending the mrs to fetch the sodding dog who would come back. Cheers
  4. How easy are mods like that to do, iv got an old flash and could do with being able to adjust the power?
  5. The snow at the weekend seemed to bring more birds than usual to our garden. these were shot from the comfort of my kitchen so had to shoot through a window which hasnt helped but see for your self. 6. Just something i was thinking about while having dinner on my own, ironicly. Which two people past or present would you have round for dinner and why. My two would have to be: Churchill, i love the guys speeches and just think he would be cool to hang out with for a couple of hours, Steve Jobs, hes just a visionary i would love to know what he had planned for the future. One for you to mull over on this dull monday evening. Joe
  7. Im doing the Nottingham one, also doing the Robin Hood half marathon in a couple of weeks so im not worried about the distant more all the obstacles. Got a month to work on them once iv done the half. Joe

  10. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/236579 If your just streaming and dont need a disk drive they are perfect. also there is loads and loads of information on them over at have forums. Then as an interface you could use one of either XBMC, WMC, Media portal there are loads to choose from, personaly i use MMC because its easy to set up, looks nice with a new skin, and it does everything i need it to do, there are loads of plugins aviable to acses all the tv on demand services that out there. joe
  11. This is something iv looked into in a lot of detail so a little bit more information and i may be able to help you out. Where is your media stored and what format is it in. Are you on a wired or wirless network? Do you have a budget, if so what is it? What do you want from your system? Joe
  12. Iv got a HP Mini110 and i love it, i took it traveling with me and used it for all my photographic needs, when in photoshop CS2 it was a little bit sluggish but since iv been back iv upgraded the ram to 2gb for only £20 and its much nicer now. The screen is useable but not idea for photoshop i only get a screen res of 1024 by 600 so some aplications wont run. But no im home i just hook it up to a monitor and wirless keyboard and mouse and its all i use pritty much. I got mine back in january but i think the specs will have got better and no doubt the price would have come down. So my advice would be that for what your wanting from it i would recomened getting one. Also a lot of them can be made into hackingtosh machines if you like OSX.
  13. £75 sounds about right for the student package which i think allows 3 installs so you should be fine. Iv just had a quick look in price runner and there saying pc world is the cheapest so i would just go instore and pick up a copy. Joe
  14. first i would go into hardware manager and see if the network card is enabled, iv encountered a few machines that for some reason had disabled the network card.
  15. o thanks will have to look into that. Cheers o thanks will have to look into that. Cheers
  16. if you have just ordered it it may come shiped with the latest software upgrade in which case you can not jail break it "yet" if it doesnt come with it already uploaded dont upgrade as again you wont be able to jail break. When i got mine i just put my sim card in and clicked find contacts and it imported them all, so you may get lucky and the phone will do it all for you.
  17. Sorry iv known about it for a while but only just had to use it, so i thought id post about it.
  18. A bit off topic but im sure it will help anyone who every reinstalls there os. http://ninite.com/ Its a website that combines all the freeware you may need/want into one downloaded and then installs it all for you. I no that the one thing that puts me off reinstalling my os is having to reinstall all my software but i found this and its a god send. It covers everything from browsers to anti virus and everything inbetween. Would recomend it to anybody. Just thought it might help. Joe
  19. it may not even by the graphics card, have you checked the spec of the tv to see what the highest hrz of the tv is, no matter how good the card is if the tv can only work up to a certain frequency you a bit stuck really.
  20. The great barrier reef is not even close to surfers its the other side of Brisbane for a start, thats like saying im going to live in London because its near North Scotland, plus surfers is a dive you might as well live in maliga for the amount of nobs there is and people trying to sell you nights out. If it was to be Oz it would have to be Sydney but international i would choose Queenstown New Zealand because it has everything sking in winter riding in summer and a massive lake to play on. In the UK i would be town between Solford Queys in Manchester and The Park Nottingham. Manchester because its an amazing city Nottingham because its where i am now and its nice an central to all my mates at uni. Joe
  21. I found my perfect place but it was a little out of my price range. It was A5TON on a V8 vantage. Anything with AST in so expensive its a bit of a joke. I have found some which would suit me for about 300 quid which i might get one day, witth JJA as the last three letters. Im in New Zealand at the moment and it seems every other car has a private plate. I spent some time with some guys i no over hear and out of the 5 of them 3 had private plates. The rules are different over hear you can have words, like in the US. Joe
  22. Fire fox at the netbook firefox on the desktop and chrome on the HTPC as it seems to look the best up on the TV. My HP netbook has got a cool little mini OS that loads up before windows and the browser in that is quite cool. I think its call HP instant Web. Iv tried a lot of the new ones, safari on the desktop, didnt get on with that all well, IE i just dont trust. As mentioned by a few others the amout of plugins and add ons for FF is amazing plus you can get loads of skins for it. Thinking about it id forgotten about skins might have to look into skins as i would prefer FF on the HTPC. Not tried Opera might be worth a download. Anyone got anything to say on it? Cheers joe
