      Hello riders and enthusiasts, The British Biketrial Championship is always an exciting highlight for the trials community. It’s great to see how the sport continues to grow, with riders of all ages showcasing their skills and passion. For those interested in learning more about trials, training techniques, and related resources, I’ve also worked on educational projects and designs that support the biking community.       Experience using 54t or 60t ratchet for a DT Swiss hub

      Hi,   what is your experience with the DT 54t kit or the aliexpress 54t or 60t kit for DT Swiss hubs? I am building an old Giant STP as a kind of allrounder, like Jeff Lenosky did in the past. I have a wheel with a DT 240s hub and I would like you to share your experience with the different kits. I rode once with an aliexpress 54t kit and till now it did not slip, even during trial moves. But what about the reliability? Thanks for sharing your experience.

      Agree with you. To me, 72 POE is already good enough (I.e. I don't feel its a big drawback and I feel confident), even if I prefer even more engagement points. To fully benefit from the advantages of a higher POE, the chain tension shall be properly set and kept constant.  Also the feeling of the freewheel is important, some feel less stiff/reactive than other even if they engage earlier. For example, I read that the I9 design uses the axle deformation to ensure full contact of the pawls and prevent skipping. So it feels a little less stiff that one would expect from 690 POE - it feels still amazing though. To me the 135 POE front freewheels with industrial bearings feel better than the 120 POE, due to the stiffness difference.

      Most HS33 alloy forks develop cracks around the welds. It is only a matter of time for a professional rider. The leverage applied by the fork legs is ridiculous and there is a quite rude stiffness transition close to the headset. So any additional edge in this area is a high stress riser. Afaik Crewkerz developed a carbon fork, cause they are less prone to fatigue failures.

      True...I made a hole and routed internal. Might regret it, but looks clean... I usually put the brakes on bleed and leave then on forever. Last bike 6years no hassle... but thanks for inputs
