Despite me being the one who mentioned the whole "meanings" this I do agree with you, I am useless at thinking about the future, other than acknowledging that I may be dead before it gets here, so I just do whatever makes me happy NOW. However I mentioned this as a word of advice to those who want a tattoo but are worried they will regret it, hence they should get something which will still have meaning in however many years etc. Mine mostly have meaning to me, some don't but I still like them, but in general if you want something get it, someone is always gonna say they don't like it. No one had ever told me they didn't like my wings till the other day this girl saw my pic on MySpace and just said "Yuck, no offence but I HATE your tattoo", which I thought was a bit strong, but it is MY tattoo so it's ok! xDaveyx

I can beat you all (not that beat is the right word because frankly no one cares), I played my first ever gig supporting Enter Shikari. We packed the venue out and had an awesome night, after we played most people went home and Enter Shikari played to an empty floor. No matter how big they get despite sucking immenseley, that memory will always comfort me! And yes they are tosspots in real life, the were offered a support slot with Sikth and they said they would only play if they could headline because they believe they are a bigger band than sikth! Afternoon Joe! Unfortunately being a southern farmer from East Anglia I don't know anyone up that way, but my advice would be to buy a copy of "Tattoo" or something from the nearest cornershop, and look for artists in your area. By that I mean don't look in the classifieds, look at the pages with all the pics on, they always have the name of the tattooist/shop and the location, that way you get a name and you get an example of their work, usually the best tattoo places are the ones that get into the magazine so if they've had work photographed for mags you can be fairly sure they're good! Looks good though dude, little higher maybe? Oooh sternum(sp), that's gonna vibrate in weird ways I tell you now! xDaveyx

Words cannot express my hatred for this band, I think people would agree I'm usually a very reasonable man but the cracks start to show when people mention Enter Shikari I cannot see how they are getting so big! Radio one played them on "hottest track in the world right now" and I couldn't believe my ears. Before I continue I should mention that I've gigged with and met them and seen numrous shows of theirs by way of other bands I was seeing, and if it weren't for all the ripped off trance samples they would simply be a very very bad hardcore band. I'm often tempted to have a word with the sound guy and get him to switch the fancy lights and the sampler off and reveal them for the pants band that they are! Also on a personal note we don't get along, which again is rare for me, but I don't have time for people who are up their own bums, it makes conversation very muffled, haha! Anyway, back on topic, for me at the moment it's IRN BRU, but I feel this will last longer than a week, there simply isn't a better alcohol alternative! Firstly that is construction contract procedure, I'm not sure it really applies to private sales of electrical goods, but even if it does Anzo doesn't know it is incompatible, he is making an ussumption based on this persons recent purcahases, for all we know this guy may have more than one machine and this is for the other one which IS compatible. In my experience if you see someone driving like a maniac (too fast etc) it is almost always a man, but if you see someone performing some stupid manouver across lanes and generally getting into a pickle it's almost always a woman or an elderly person. It does say that the data doesn't apportion blame for the accidents, so if one male driver ploughed into 3 cars all being driven by women they would all be equally included, but this wouldn't give as clear a pattern as appears in the data so I guess it must be true. I know it shows severity of collision by the injuries sustained, but if we're talking about insurers then we sould consider the cost of the accidents, I'd be willing to bet that despite male drivers having less accidents and less injuries overall that the cost of repairs to the vehicles involved tends to be more, and perhaps the number of vehicles involved tends to be more? This would explain in part the higher premiums for men! Davey

Hmm, I half agree with you, I think if I had that done I would regret it pretty soon after, but then you'd all say the same about me, mine are far bigger and everyone says that to me all the time "Oh when you're old you'll regret it and it'll look silly" but as I've said a million times I don't envisage looking great naked when I'm old anyway, lol. I think my main point, or piece of advice really, is that if you are going to get a tattoo don't get an off the wall design or something gimicky, as you're unlikely to relate to it when you're older. All my tattoos mean something or represent a point in my life which is special in some way, so in 50 years even if I'm not straight edge anymore and don't like angels or whatever, I'll still like my tattoos and can tell my grandkids the stories that go with them! Also, whatever you do don't go cheap, pay the extra money to get a good job done, I will never get cheap work done by friends of friends ever again, it's not worth it, £50-£70 an hour tells you it's good, but always try and find someone who's been there and had work done before, don't always trust the pictures on the wall of the shop, most shops have multiple artists and will only display the good ones!! Tattoos are forever so may as well get the best job done that you possibly can! On that note, I'm booked in for 6th November for my re-work, well excited Davey

In the dry smooth rims are better, just as slick tyres are better in F1 and the like, because there is more surface contact between the pad and the rim which means more friction and therefore better braking. As mentioned this is compromised in the wet as with tyres because the water cannot dispurse and the pad rides on top of a film of water, very poor friction, so a grin will help because water can dispurse in the ridges formed when you grind a rim. That's the science anyway, personally I don't like riding in the wet anyway so I prefer smooth rims with a bit of tar (just a very light touch though) but I'd imagine in comps a grind would be advantageous as yuo never know what you'll come up against!
