  1. Sounds absolutely awesome! Only thing I would say is take atleast a spare bike worths of parts as I'm sure so many things will get destroyed! Phil
  2. What are you talking about a skatepark?! Build a trials park! Phil
  3. Was cool, looks like 26" rider needs to work on backwheel balance abit, seemed quite jerky back hopping. Phil
  4. Disk with no doubt. Since I've changed over I'm never going back Running marta at the moment but BB7 and Hope mono are always popular choices. Phil
  5. But that makes no sense because the try-all is a sensible size as opposed to the echo which is alot smaller Phil Not the same problem mate, I held it in place on the floor on my knees and with my hands so the bead was in all the way round and it still kept popping out, when I did get it to stay in as soon as I put pressure on it popped out. But its all good now because I chucked on a different tyre Phil
  6. Hmm yeah, what tyre to get.... any ideas? I made a discovery today. I've been thinking the actual rim is 26" large for many years now! Only when I measure it and found it was 57cm did it dawn on me it isn't! Phil
  7. Right I'm getting out the tape measure! Echo Rim - Diameter: 56.90cm Circumference: 178.76 Tryall Rim 57.35cm Circumference: 180.17 Right a good 2 cm different which explains why not many tyres fit on the echo well. Just stupid Phil
  8. For anyone whose interested it turns out Echo rims are actually smaller than tryall rims. Just lined two up and its quite clear. Eventually found a tyre Phil
  9. I've been wondering for a while.... are you a trials rider yourself? or an ex-rider? Just curious Phil

    The Old T-rex

Pink rims look so so wrong. Would have looked ok if you changed the frame colour or stripped it etc. Overall a preety nice spec though. Not sure about the crank/bash setup though I had a t-rex myself, great bikes! Phil
  11. I'm stuck on just over 7 foot at the moment. I think trials in general requires a certain amount of strength but its mainly a case of technique. For example you see so many 14 year old dweebs who can sidehop like 40" no problem. Would be cool if you could post up a clip of you gapping and then we could pick apart what's from with your technique and give advice. Also do you pinch gap it or take a massive kick? Phil
  12. That was an awesome watch. Going to back wheel on the end of the rail was ridiculous. I really liked the lines you made, makes the video stand out alot. I'm not sure what the hopping 90 and then jumping off stuff backwards with a spin is about though, seems popular at the moment though. Only criticism - where was the comedy robot dancing? Phil

    New Front Disc

Main sizes are 160mm 180mm and 203mm. 160 is abit small for a 26" but some people use them on mods. 180 is the normal choice as its got alot of stopping power and isn't overly massive. 203 is abit overkill for trials and are more at home on a DH bike but a few people use them, also more of a risk of hitting it on the wall. So I would reccomend 180mm when it comes to size. As for the actual brake... If your looking for Hydraulic - Hope Mono Trials are rated highly and alot of high level riders use them but they aren't exactly cheap. I'm using a magura marta at the moment which I'm getting on very well with. If its a cable disk your looking for the avid bb7 is hailed by many as the best disk around for trials and all in after you have brought the lever and cable seperately from the caliper and disk will end up cheaper than a Hope Mono. Hope that is some use. Phil
  14. That is a distint possibility, but then again I tried another tyre. I'll make sure I try a few others today and see whats gonig on. Phil They are abit actually, guess that is the answer, find out this afternoon if it is anyway. cheers, Phil
  15. Preety damn old, maybe a year or abit less. But like I said I tried it with another tyre to check and it went on very easily again I guess you would know what tyre to go for, what would you recommend? Phil Tried it and it still pops out cheers, Phil
  16. Not too thin....... too small, the circumference of the wheel is not large enough so the bead cant push in all the way around the rim Phil
  17. Yep I'm sure as I have a spare echo rim around in the garage and I tried a different tyre on it to test the size and it went on very very easily again. Yep tried holding it up and using an electric pump, tried holding it up and using a footpump, tried high pressures, tried low pressures, tried holding the bead in all the way round as I pumped it up. I can only conclude the wheel is ridiculously small Phil
  18. Basically I have an 07 26" rim and my maxxis high roller won't stay on it, sides keep popping off. This is because the echo rim is smaller than standard rims, it fitted fine on a tryall and a mavic but the tyre is way too large for the echo as is evident from the ease in which it went on, no tyre levers and no effort. After 3 weeks not riding because waiting for new wheel this is a very annoying problem to have. So what tyre do I need for things to work properly? Cheers, Phil
  19. Isn't that completely contradictory as sketchy is the exact opposite of smooth Anyway was good riding but I personally preffered your vids on 26. Phil
  20. Cheers guys it worked. Except now I have one lazy cylinder, so it gets pushed forwards hits the rim then when I let go just stays rubbing against the rim. How can I oversome this? I tried lubricating it with silicon spray. Phil
  21. Thank you Which bolts do I undo, the one on the slave and the tiny one on the lever? And then put my finger over the tiny one on the lever and press and release slowly the lever? Cheers, Phil
  22. Thanks for the advice but I dont understand how that would help because I'd have to take my finger off the slave hole when I screwed the bolt in to finish the job. Phil
  23. I think so, the lever came out when it had been tightened up but it was secure so I can't think that would be a problem, the slaves stayed under the whole time. Phil
  24. I bled my magura this morning in the bath and I think I followed the correct procedure. (Take out bolt on slave, take off lever, suck water up through the top while slave is underwater, put on lever, do up slave bolt) but I just can't seem to get enough liquid in the system so when I pull the lever one side moves a few milimetres and the other side is more or less stationery. What am I doing wrong? cheers, Phil
  25. Ha EXACTLY what I did! Thanks for the feedback guys, might jsut have to get myself a 36 hole Try all and sell the cho Phil
