ooooo 'if they' were inspired is talking about the moto rider. Comprende Sounded like he was saying ''I wonder if BMXers were inspired by biketrials after watching the clip'' Phil
-
I dont think anyone thinks that moto trials street riding is anything like bmx! And what do you mean 'are they inspired by biketrials street?' The vid you posted isn't bike trials Wrong link? Phil
-
Yo guys, Me and a couple of guys ride basingstoke sometimes (Dave, Seb and sometimes Nick and Alex) Would be up for a ride. Had a couple of group rides there with people coming up from Southhampton, have been a laugh. Loads of spots to ride. O and Robbo met you once outside the church if you remember Phil

Does Anyone Have Close Look Of Any Pink Helmet?
Phil H replied to gary_netlier's topic in Trials Chat
Be aware: You need to be a good rider to pull off a pink helmet (like the above Tra, Billocks, waynio) Otherwise there is a distinct possibility you will look like an idiot who is trying to look 'cool and individual' (No offence intended) Phil -
I'm a wee bit confused, what actually is a G - turn? If its where you 270 to the side (if that makes sense), I can do them but if danny mac is doing them might not be what I'm thinking. Phil

KMC k710? KMC k810? or KHE Collapse? I'm siding with the KHE at the moment, what you guys think? cheers, Phil
-
Yeah was fine thanks, knee swelled up abit but wasn't a big deal. Yuhuh, thing is it is a fat half link chain and is quite newish so im not 100% sure. I knew it was going badly as I pedal kicked to the edge and didnt keep the front up so I kinda think it was down to that. What chain would you recomend? cheers, Phil
-
I let the front go really low and thought I may aswell go for it For your amusement..... I have replaced the chain links, will this be sufficient or will the rest of the chain be weak? Phil
-
Would be cool without the horizontal tape along the top giving the riders the posibility of hooking and then somehow hopping along whilst still being hooked and hopping fakie out, I've never seen it be done anyway.... or is it too easy? Phil

Anyone spending 59.99 is an idiot, so many cheap and easy ways to modify tensioners and derailieurs to fullfill all your needs. Phil

Trials Only Online Auction System (poll Now Added!)
Phil H replied to 531joshua's topic in Trials Chat
You need a name to really hit the potential customers in the face. Trials-auction etc sounds so bland. Think of tarty bikes (obvious example) sounds preety stupid if you know nothing of it which is a positive as it means you are more likely to enquire into it. It sets it apart from other shops ((as well as the fact they actually offer a decent service )) Secondly I agree with others that a wider target market might be needed as the trials (including moto) community isn't that big in the grand sceem of things also taking into account only a small percentage would use an auction site. Not to be pesimistic, I'm sure you know what your doing, but a name really isn't important until you have a solid business plan of what you are going to do and how you are going to do it. Cheers, Phil -
HAHA That was so long ago! But I rarely find anything on the forum that makes me giggle! Ps bought some of the grips Phil
-
Ha, very good point, thought exactly the same when I read it the first time. I do understand that everyone has different things to get out of trials but 'training' does seem abit strange As regards to the interview, nice one for doing it! However the content was preety weak and didn't really give much to the reader! (/anything) Cheers, Phil

Sounds good, aswell as greatly benefitting riders and the trials community a very good business angle with the envolvement of tartybikes. However concerning the idea of involving schools. I just can't imagine it working well as much as we all want trials to grow: 1.School kid's parents may not want to pay £200 for a sport they know nothing about. 2. After watching you ride they will be bubbling, after 2 hours when the kids realise they can't even trackstand I don't think they will be too chuffed, I can't imagine them understanding the effort needed. 3. To us tarty bikes is a big thing but 99% of people in England haven't even heard of the company and therefore a 10% voucher may seem almost worthless and will not be too useful for pursuading primarily.... ''Tart what?'' I don't mean to be pesimistic, I think its a brilliant idea for trials riders who know exactly what they are getting. Certainly if I was considering a new bike I would go for it not only for the experience but purely for financial reasons. And, do you have enough obstacles to keep an average trials rider amused for 2-3 hours? Just some thoughts, Cheers, Phil

My mate uses them on a smooth without tar on the back and on occasions have worked great but aren't amazing, definetly not as effective as on a grind but I understand grinds can be alot of hassle sometimes. Use tar and you should be fine, I can't imagine them being much different to using kool stops on a smooth rim with tar. This is only temporary until you find a way of getting a grind but should do the job Phil

Really enjoyed sunday! Was a preety full on start for my first comp with the rain and mud. Was a really good experience, so different to anything on the street. Can't wait for the next one Phil
-
Got mine for £37 posted! Such a bargain and never had any trouble with them. Phil
-
Ha good stuff! Just ordered them Should see the tattered enduro gloves im working with atm! Phil
-
Looks very nice. Best thing about it is the dmr chain tensioner, I use one too in exactly the same way with a zip tie, works a treat! Phil
-
Are they any good? Looking into getting some preferaby tonight. Looking for something that lasts a decent time. Cheers Phil
-
Quality video Nick! The tap at the end from Fleet is so big! Hook is nice as too. The song was terrible but the riding awesome. Where were the huge manuals? Next time your in fleet film some more stuff. Need to meet up for another ride soon! Phil
-
Change/modify your tensioner so it is pushing up as opposed to down, therefore the chain will be wrapped around more of the rear cog giving more contract and grip, meaning less slippage Phil
-
Cool vid man, looks like you have those bunnyhops sorted. I think you should ease off all the slow-mo introduction, leave all that for the pros Keep it up! Phil
-
A Magura Marta would be a serious serious error. My friend has had two on his stock, both of which were preety cack. Would never trust one on the rear. Something like a hope mono would do the job if you have the money for discs, have to be perfectly set up and worn in though. Phil

1.Go for lines and moves first time without thinking too hard about it. 2. Even if your scared try it once because after that initial worry you'll realise you won't actually get hurt and can try it all day. 3.Trust your bike that it won't fall to pieces and that your chain definetly will not snap. 4.Ensure your brake is solid as a rock (nothing worse than a very soar ass) 5. Try new things, if you don't succeed you won't have expected to, if you do you'll be chuffed you have learnt something and will be ready to take on the world. and I'm preety sure only complete idiots think its gay to wear a helmet. For most of us its just logic. Phil
