On the tar front. It can be annoying to get hold of. Builders use it if thats any use atall. Or give Lawrence Osbourne (above) a shout and he might be able to sort you some out. I sent lawrence a couple of quid and he sent me a few lumps. Everyone was happy Phil

That looks awesome! Settles it in my mind the whole thing just seems like alot of hassle! Phil Im slightly confused by the 'chrome plating' because as far as I can see Onza took a fully chrome bike and painted some decals on the front, hence why the back is chrome. Due to this all I would need to do is strip the paint at the front of the bike. Im sure this discussion doesn't belong here and I have a thread concerning it in the Trials chat section. In the meanwhile would love to see any other pics people have of their chrome T-Rex's. Cheers, Phil

Cheers for the response guys. I spoke to my dad about Nitromorse this morning and we have some in the garage but brought up the point it depends how/under what temperatures etc the paint was applied. Do different manafacturers have different ways of applying paint? Anyway, I will get in touch with some people who have actually done it on T-Rex's and see if they can help. Cheers. Phil

Is this tried and tested on a bike frame by yourself? Because we all know your a poser glen and you just pass on information you heard somewhere Phil

Im considering stripping the paint off the front of my Onza T-Rex. I love the ride of the frame but don't find the flames too special. Im not convinced I will do it, its just an idea. How would I go about this? Heat gun? Cheers, Phil

Ah awesome a piccie would be great I'll have to think about doing it then! Phil

Allrite man just with my black and red forks could look abit shoddy. Then again I could eventually go for a chrome and red colour scheme. Thing is I dont want it to look like a wanna be echo or anything . Phil

You really think so? Phil

A chrome T-Rex - could it ever work? Im not sure but I like the idea. Has anybody got any pictures of a chrome t rex? I remember seeing one ages ago on TF and liking the look. Could look so wrong though. Phil

Ha I did realise that after the post! And the way I said 'Im ready to start trying' sounds like we are having a baby together HAHA Phil

I didn't say you shouldn't try new things, I said it will be a long time before we can nail them. (just for the record) Im ready to start trying too! Phil

S**T those are some of the best trials pictures I've ever seen. Riding and photography are preety special. 11 th down is ridiculous good Phil

I have just had an extremely entertaining 3 minutes reading this topic! I'm not taking sides but bull****ers piss me off! Phil

I don't think a digger would be good for trials because firstly they are desighned for dirt jumping and secondly the walls are really curved so arguably you wont have as much tyre on the surface your riding. Just a thought Phil

Its going to be a long time until we have them dave! I reacon you could try on the massive wall near the flower bed where we normally side hope down. hmm. Phil

Mine personally was just an estimate and a very fair one at that. I very occasionally measure a gap with my feet going on the concept my foot is about a foot long. I gotta say I dont think its cool when people whack out a tape measure for everything Phil
-
Well from looking at the spec it clearly isn't going to be a 'trials' bike of any sort, did you mean 'trails'? Anyway I used to have an azonic steelhead which I found preety nice its abit of the heavy side but hard as nails. Phil

Only just learnt so only got up to about 4 foot which is preety dissproportaiate to being able to do 6ft + on flat to back wheel but it will come with practise. And its so true that gaps to front feel so nice especially when you pull a smooth wheelswitch. Phil

Hey dude. I actually just learnt to do this like last week I was chuffed Basically I practised with a pallet and a curb and changing the distance. Anyway the technique, having only just learnt this im not the best person to be giving pointers but I think its all about getting the confidence to throw your weight forward. Start off with like a small gap so if you put the front down you front wheel would be well on the curb. Then just practise practise. Hardest thing I found was getting a good wheelswitch in after but I have now perfected that . Phil

Its kind of a silly question as you can't just learn to gap straight away. If your completely new to trials you need the basics such as track stands, pivoting on your wheels, moves like 180 endos and hopping on the back wheel. When you have a general feel for your trials bike you need to learn to kickhop/pedal hop. Once you have kickhops its just a matter of practising to get them bigger and bigger so you can start doing gaps. Phil.

Cheers, that is brilliant. Well i've seen a few of your videos which shows that the level of riding in intermediate is very very good. How novice is novice? Im not sure I would make that catergory even . Phil

Please could somebody take the time to answer my previously posted questions. My questions: Who is welcome to ride at such Ymsa events as listed above? Are there runs for many different levels of riders? Phil.

Its common knowledge that dics are better however from watching my mates having various problems with disks im glad ive stuck with my maggy for now. In the future I will get a disk but my advice would be if you got a maggy stick with it for now, it'll be fine. And also, not to be offencive, but if you don't know that a disk is better on the front then it sounds like you probably don't need one. Phil
