  1. My colleague who sits next to me has an A10-6800k and it's pretty dire. Shockingly slow for CPU clock speed intensive stuff and the multi-tasking capabilities is pretty crap. Struggles to run more than 1 VM at once for testing in, whereas my i5-3450 handles 3 happily. Given the board you've got though I'd say that's a reasonable way of doing a £150 upgrade for general home use and a bit of light gaming (if that's what it's for?). Does it have an SSD? Can get 128gb ones for £40 now so would be silly not to IMO. Best upgrade you'll ever do.
  2. Is this transferred by sex with the bumalls by any chance?
  3. If you're a hardcore gamer, sure. I went up 7 bands with my last upgrade and from a single card to SLI. Unless your gaming experience is hampered I always say it's best to stick with what you've got and save.
  4. Unfortunately though, they are absolutely f**king hideous to ride. I'd honestly rather not have a bike at all than have a CG. Did all my training on them. They do go and stop and will move you around, but they're so bouncey and wallowy and unbearably slow. I had a 1986 MZ ETZ125 at the same time which was many times nicer to ride, and cost me £200.
  5. I wouldn't say so. If you don't currently need a faster GPU, keep the money and buy a much faster one when you do. 7950 is pretty long in the tooth now. Depends what $50-60 means really though, to me that's about £30 which is a bit of a steal, however I know that in computing parts in America are often around half what they cost here. (Watercooling parts are anyway).
  6. I've got problems in firefox, if I click the reply button, the reply gets posted but the reply box doesn't reset and the page doesn't reload. I have to refresh the page in order to see my posted reply.
  7. Can't see why not, it would subvert the problem after all.
  8. Have you got a highish end GPU? My guess would be bad current on the PCI lanes caused by high draw from the PSU. Either ditch the sound card (they really are pointless these days for anyone who isn't a proper audio fag), or try a different PSU?
  9. Both my parents on mine, both driving 30+ years, no claims or convictions in the last 5 years etc, 1.3l Micra doing 3000 miles a year (honest), TPFT, parked in a private car park etc. Still £800. More than the car is worth and I'm 25. It's pretty insane really.
  10. On my bike, yes, £120 TPFT. Car was £800 TPFT. First year of car insurance, 5th year of bike with 4 years NCB though, which might explain it...
  11. Yeh it's one of those things where nobody would say you were in the wrong if the crash happened, but you're still a dick. If it was a cyclist or a motorcyclist or a horse then everyone would be angry withe the driver for not avoiding the accident, why is another car any different? The only difference to me as a totally unrelated bystander, is that all these minor scrapes requiring wings and resprays put my insurance up next year. If you'd stood your ground, you'd have no car left by now.
  12. Dude just put a fake name on it. That's what all the primary school teachers/teachers assistants I know do. (My girlfriend is one).
  13. Saw a shunt this morning and wondered what you guys think. At a large junction on my walk to work, there are two lanes that go left (very shallow radius corner and maybe 45 degrees round). There were two cars approaching, one on the left was sitting further back so it's front right wheel lined up with the car in the right hand lanes rear wheel. As they came round the corner, the dude in the right hand lane was clearly drifting across into the left. The road markings disappear in the middle of the junction and reappear at the other side, so maybe he didn't see them. The woman in the left hand lane had time to gesture with both hands in the air, then beep before he clipped her, and she didn't brake at all. I watched the whole thing clear as day and she had 1-1.5 seconds to avoid a crash, but didn't. Who was in the wrong? He caused it, but she could so easily have avoided it. Insurance will blame him but in my eyes it's 50/50. Yes he made a mistake but she made no effort to avoid the crash when it was clearly coming.

    US holiday alone

I know a couple who went touring round America on motorbikes and said the exact opposite. They were shocked how often people offered to feed and house them for the night along the way.
  15. It's so much fun. The headroom for big redstone machines is daft now. It's public unfortunately, just for me! Most people think it's daft running a server at home for just me to play on, but for me that's part of the fun. Combines gaming, servers, linux and now overclocking/watercooling.
  16. Finally finished my Minecraft server build! Will be good to get some build chatter going on in here again. http://www.overclock.net/t/1572652/diggy-hole-a-watercooled-overclocked-itx-4-2ghz-minecraft-server
  17. If she doesn't get rid of them sharpish I think it's perfectly fine to say "Do you mind? We're on a date here". That's Leeds for you though. Full of arseholes.
  18. Mum did it, it's extremely hard work to do a full time job, be a parent and get a degree at the same time.

    The Angry Thread.

Sounds like full blown aids to me.

    The Angry Thread.

The couple upstairs are doing shouting about things, like growing up and f**k you and so on. I'd shut the windows so I can't hear them, but it's august, so it's 25C+ in here.
  21. How is that "best of the internet"? It's horrific real world news. If anything that should be in the angry thread or have it's own thread. It's not a meme or a funny video lol.
  22. 100% real. Unfortunately they're the women I find most attractive.
  23. Hmmmmm. Have you eliminated things? Like the second router, plugging the computer directly into the powerline adapter?
