  1. Hugh what are you doing! you spend all that time and effort building up a beauty of a machine, and then you take a tacky picture of it in the dark. Get a decent pic of it in good daylight...thats an order!
  2. i like the hydro formed tubes. makes a change from standard straight gauge tubing. to those of you whom think this frame is weird looking, remember that prototype Giant trials bike that appeared in BikeTrials magazine years ago. where they used one piece of tubing as a mainframe. that was real weird

    Oh No!

Make damn sure that when you photograph this rig complete, you photograph it in white daylight (NOT SUNLIGHT). white daylight will enhance the quality of the finish better than sunlight (if your using a 3megapixel plus digi camera). oh and post a pic of both rigs in the same shot. white daylight is when the sky is kinda white coloured and not blue.
  4. Wow! that frame must weigh a shy less than 3lbs. try and get some pics this dude riding this steel beauty.
  5. Awesome action pics. your girlfriend had capture the lighting, movement, and angles just right. full credit to her.
  6. I think high rise stems look weird on 26in bikes, though i can forgive you for being a tall rider. cant wait to see you post future riding vids. you have a steady posture on your rig which makes you look smooth.

    Rant

Youve just gotta go with the annoying kids flow. im sure everyone on registered on this forum was no angel during his/her younger years. i get kids that come up to me and say "do a bunnyhop". so ill do one and then they will say "No! thats an american bunnphop, do an english one". or if they ask about why my seat/saddle is low and i give a simple constructive answer, its like the information doesnt ring true to their brains. i remember a few years ago when i saw some black rappers sporting bmxs in their rap videos. soon enough, i would see black youths investing in bmxs just to represent that image of their rap idols. none of them could be bother to do bmx tricks, they are just following a trend with no purpose. there will always be good and bad followers of any sport. Human ignorance is everywhere, so just go with the flow.
  8. What forks is Matt Staples running on his pitbull? ive only seen the old Pace trials forks that do the reversed magura brake mount. Ps, i take it matt didnt dismount from that very high slopped wall with a drop. it looks like a good 13-15ft.
  9. Apparently they are produce by the same company that made the awesome ASSAULT pedals. replaced by the Moto-x, the assault pedals were the grippiest cage pedals on the market period, and ridiculously expensive (£120 plus). Danny Holroyd used they during his Planet-x days.
  10. its no more difficult than doing it on a bmx. the trick really comes alive when doing a bunnyhop-tailwhip (which apparently has been done by M.Ashton and a few other trialsters), doing a tailwhip-drop (which ive not see done by anyone even though its possible), a tailwhip-gapjump (which apparently has been by a canadian trialster on a mod doing the move backwards), a rolling drop into a midair tailwhip (ive only seen on a bmx), a pedal up to frontwheel to tailwhip to backwheel (that would be pretty unique to trials though probably not possible in the same way as doing a regular pedal up to frontwheel to backwheel).
  11. id cancel any london riding plans this weekend. rain is expected saturday afternoon onwards , with rain all over the uk throughout sunday . So make the best of this afternoon/evening and saturday morning to ride because the rest of the weekend is gonna be shite everywhere! unless the weathermen get it very wrong.
  12. If anyone does get the Pro2, then get the 2nd generation models as they are claimed to be stronger build. number of riders have snapped the 1st generation hub shell. one rider snapped his 2nd Pro2 hub clean after pedalling away from a trackstand (at london ride). Very weird to see a snapped hub shell that is machined from a solid billet of alu.
  13. Fiveten impact shoes dont need to labelled a trials shoe. they are mountain bike shoes for flat pedals that offer vice-like grip and are super comfy . Once your in the trackstand position, you cannot physically twist the shoes period without snapping your ankles clean. you have to physically lift your foot off the pedal to change foot/position. you can walk in grass/mud, and still get supergrip when stepping back onto your pedals. i had to remove all the pins on my shite Gusset pedals because my 2yr old Fiveten shoes proved to grippy (esspecially during the summer) that i had a few accidents when trying to casually step off, or bale off my bike. they are that ridiculously grippy!
  14. You may need to remind everyone of this ride next monday 5th, as there could be plans to ride this weekend. weather permiting!
  15. Trialsin in the wind and rain, thats insane!
  16. Im surprised that one has mentioned FiveTen Impact shoes(checkout ChainReaction cycles). Fiveten are the grippiest shoes out on the biking market today period ...unfortunately, they are ugly looking.
  17. The Tensile headset sounds good on paper, but how throughly tested has Danny Butler put it through its paces in terms of stress and tolerance? would tensile put a 10yr warranty on it , or is it just a Chris King look-a-like with a load of tech jargon attached to it? Ps, Chain Reaction cycles are selling King no thread headsets on sale for £65 . that is where my money is going on a headset this year.
  18. Gezz chai, you must be bored to enquire about such a tricky topic. personally, i reckon your focus should be on promoting trials on a large public/commercial scale, rather than pro status via reaching out to a handful of people from doing demos. in my view, your best chance to make trials a bigger and more noticeable sport to the public eye, is via publicity stunts and via commercial interests with events like this summer UrbanGames and london 2012 olympics. sign yourself up as bicycle stunt rider could help brake certain barriers to ride virtually anywhere to promote trials via possible filming projects ie; jump london style documentary on bikes, or some publicity stunt like that french dude whom calls himself the Real Spiderman by scaling very tall buildings unaided and no ropes.
  19. How about this for the level in trials. A FIXED FREEWHEEL ON 2OIN MOD WITH NO BRAKES! Maybe someone could design/build a freewheel with some kinda gear/cable attachment enabling the rider to switch from freewheel to fixedwheel. imagine the possiblities. ok, ok it will feel weird to ride at first, but who knows, someone might try it. another idea is for a 20in mod rider using a bmx freecoaster if the pick up was good enough for trials use. though cant think what benefit running one would have except to roll backwards without pedalling.
  20. I was wondering if anyone has been watching that tv talent show on bbc1 "When will i be famous"(every saturday around 7:30pm). i just wondering if anyone with bike skills, has been screened yet? because the way this talent show is conducted, there has to be two acts of a simular discipline/skill which is judged by a panel of judges before the final public vote of which act/skill goes through to the next/final round. the two guys flexing and twisting their bodies/(limbs was mind blowing. the female martial artist was pretty cool. be good to see two bike riders (either bmx or trials) doing some skills on national tv.
  21. im down if i can say awake after getting back from work . i guess tim wont be down with yet another cracked frame.
  22. Cool pics. hopefully there will be alot more pics if sunday 18th, london ride goes down. Personally, id like to get chai and company down south east greater london.
  23. Nice. but how about doing a wall tap to 180 on the backwheel. the only logical way to nail this move is tap the wall at an angle instead of dead straight like a regular wall tap, then hopefully the momentum and compression will twist you and bike 180 as you surge up the wall, hopefully landing 180 on the backwheel.
  24. :$ yeah, silly me 4 not looking at the date of the post, though generally most of us type in the date on the topic title. never mind Chai and co are expected to be down london this sunday 18th. usually time and place. dry weather permitting.
