Yea it makes it twice as hard for the best rider. It keeps it more open which maybe is a bit more exciting for on lookers.

because forging tooling costs a lot of money, its much cheaper just to machine from a lump of aluminium. the first middle burns where just machined rather than forged then machined and they where very weak.

Although i don't fully disagree with this the manufacture has the duty to produce something fit for the purpose intended and the retailer is just as responsible to fully understand the product before putting it on sale. if companies like Trialtech can do it why can't others? Fully CNC machined cranks feature large cutouts from the rear faces, saving lots of weight while still ensuring good strength and stiffness. - Just 3.3% heavier than the lightest standard setup currently available, whilst being stiffer as for the Hashtag freewheel i don't think its sorted yet, i would personally suggest to get the Crewkerz BB30 cranks and the newer freewheel which seems great so far (fully black in colour)

Sounds like you have answered your own question. Of course both play a big part. But for you it sounds like your plenty strong enough. What is your vertical jump ? It would help if you posted a clip so we could analyse your technique

Maybe with a series of holes where you can put in a pin to get the desired location? It's a nice idea to stop it spinning but not really to difficult to get it where you need if you fit it in the vice and tighten the freewheel up before the cranks installed ?

put the pads in the oven and clean the rotor with meths. you will find that the spray cleaning may contain oil

he does seem to pedal every thing to rear as if he's on a 26 though

Yea the only problem with alot of small batch work is alot of the time is set up or change over. This means the costs going to be increased which will ether be passed on to the customers or absorbed by the business. Not really sustainable? What I mean is if you spend 50% of over all production time on setup you will double the cost per part. The downside on a small business with only 1 machine
