  1. Yes it was over edited and yes the music was a bit odd, but I really liked it. I'd much rather watch a video with strange music than a one with music that is fairly normal, but plain shit (stand up if you've ever used Linkin Park in a video). Mike sent me the video to watch last night, and I could hardly fault it. There are a few little things which I wasn't a fan of, for example when Mike gaps up to the rail in Reading, the people in the background change, the zooming in to the 2 round bollards and the 4 shots flashing up quickly. But apart from that I loved it to bits. He kept the editing tight, there's a wide range of moves and locations, the filming in places is amazing. It's fun, it's enjoyable to watch and it's better than 95% of the trials videos I've seen. So for that, well done, keep it up.
  2. I'd hardly say that was terribly pompous. I didn't say Sunday was always busy, just that you stand a far greater chance of getting a big ride on a Sunday. Anyway, I've said everything that needed to be said in the other pompous posts that I made. Stephen.
  3. Not really, when you're at school you get on with everybody, but as soon as you leave you lose contact and realise that you were only mates because you saw each other everyday for 5 years.
  4. When I finished school I was so happy. 5 years on and I've never ever missed it. I've only kept in touch with two people from school, and I've moved house since which means I don't see anybody out and about either. After school I went to college for 3 years, and I don't really miss anybody from there either, although I do have 4 or 5 people on MSN that I can always chat to if I'm feeling nostalgic. Then there's university. I don't live on Campus, I live at home. Have never been out with anyone from uni so I'm not particularly close to anybody. I've been at university for 2 years, so I have just the one year left. Can't wait until it's finished so I can move out of my mum and dad's house, get a place with my girlfriend and go and get a proper job. So... don't go telling people they'll miss school, because I certainly haven't.
  5. Saw it last night, thought it was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. This is how videos should be made. Very entertaining, good angles and camera work, music actually works... somehow. A nice wide variety of locations. The only bad bit is the filming from the bike show, but you're not going to get any better from somebody in the audience. I'd recommend everybody downloads this video. Stephen.
  6. Sorry had to be said, I prefer your video to every Craig Lee Scott video. Sidehopping constantly bores me too.
  7. I know that I've got things good in London, and it must be irritating having nowhere decent to ride, but all I can do is talk about what I've seen. I'm not having a go at the way you're riding, I'm just saying that a skatepark isn't really the place for a trialsy trials bike. As for your lack of tripod and decent camera, then well done for doing what you've done. The video could have been better if you had somebody to film you, it gives the film more life. Your angles were fine, but it's impossible to follow the rider through the frame when you're using a camera propped up on a mobile phone! What else, empty skatepark - that wasn't a criticism, just an observation. I'm just not used to seeing a video with literally nobody in the background. It meant that any atmosphere was created by you and the music only. As for the editing, the structure was absolutely fine. The riding went with the music, which is all you need to do. What I didn't like was the way you've used a lot of effects, what I personally believe to be too much. I don't dislike your video, you've certainly done well with what you've got.
  8. Right where to start... I didn't like the music, or feel the need for the "summer has arrived" introduction, but that all comes down to personal preference. The problem with where you based the video (the skatepark) is that there's only so much a trials rider like you can do. Put a rider who's more street orientated there and you'll get different results, but for a rider like youself, the moves you could do were limited. In fact all I learn from that video is that you can drop, fronthop, hook and x-up, and I think that's where the problem lies, the location limits your creativity. This could have been solved by some exciting camera angles, but the tripod just reinforces how quiet and desolate the skatepark is, i.e. you're filming yourself. Some of the effects were ok, but they'd suit a faster video, others I don't think suit a trials video at all. I personally don't use effects much at all apart from a simple fade, or cross-fade. This might be because I got told off for playing with the effects by my film style and technique lecturer, but if you think about it, how many effects do you see on television... not many. So the video wasn't too bad, the riding was certainly good. However as a viewer I felt there could have been more for me to see, as if the way it had been filmed (location, tripod) meant that I didn't see the full story (your ability.) Sorry if it seems like a harsh review, but you sent me the link and asked for my opinion. I've tried to explain my thoughts instead of just saying I didn't like it. Also, I'm just one person, everybody else could love it for all I know...

I'm hoping nobody preferes browising Trials-Forum to riding, as that really would be against the point. The poll can only make sense if everybody has a "partner." I put girlfriend, obviously. Riding's great, and in a way riding is seeing friends (I don't ride on my own), but girlfriend still wins... by a long shot.
  10. You're not on MSN, but I've just copied it from CD onto the computer for you... Edit: Couldn't be bothered to wait... I've shemaled it to you.
  11. I saw about 30 seconds of one of the old ones and wanted to kill myself. I was clever enough to turn off the vcr instead so I'm here to tell the tale. Anyway, they're really not my sort of thing. I have no problem with science fiction as a genre, but Star Wars looks plain crap, along with Star Trek for that matter.
  12. I just asked that! I'll go and have a look on google, and report any games I find. www.fhm.com's 100 greatest games is a good place to start. http://www.newgrounds.com/pico/uberkids.swf
  13. Monkey Island I and II are where it's at. Obviously I have Monkey Island III as well, but none of the newer ones. I played Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, that rocked, but not as hard as Guybrush Threepwood. While I'm here, are there any other good RPG style games on the Internet that people know of? As for Sam and Max, Day of the tenticle, Loom and all that lot, I never played them but wouldn't mind a go... I'll have to get them off ebay or try and get a copy off someone on here when I have some money.
  14. Somebody got out of the wrong side of bed... For a start I don't care when you ride, and I'm well aware of what you're asking. I was simply pointing out that if you're so desperate to have a big ride then you're very unlikely to get one on a Saturday. I've been riding in London for three or four years, and from experience I can tell you that people are usually working on Saturday and free on Sunday. But what do I know?! Anyway, you've had rides in London. They were quiet. You rode on a Saturday. That's your answer.
  15. Good video but it lacked a bit of variation - lots of the same moves and the same interesting camera angles. If you want to show a close up shot but still show the whole rider, why not film it twice up close and from distance and edit both shots in? I liked the music, it fitted well with the atmosphere. Riding was very good, but didn't show a full range of moves , therefore didn't show how good you both are. The spinning thing in the playground made me laugh, as did the landing on the car! Edit: Just spotted this... sorry!
  16. If there wasn't a dead pig spinning round with an apple in it's mouth then I'd have gone.
  17. Chocolate covered raisins.

Just bought the Best of the Cure CD which is very good. I'm into Feeder, Placebo, Pixies, Dillinger Four, Weezer, Blink 182. So that's basically indie/rock with a bit of punk thrown in.
  19. What does that mean? How high is a standard sized skip and how high is a standard sized pallet? I've never ridden either!
  20. Yeah but it's a Saturday... People go to school, college, Uni during the week, they work on Saturday and ride on Sunday. Don't you people know anything. If you want such a giant ride then make it a Sunday. Don't tell me... you usually ride on a Saturday.
  21. I've just begun playing this. Looks like quite a good, time consuming game for those who've got nothing better to do. Edit: I've just completed it, took me 40 mins, so there's no real need to use the hints at the top unless you're really short for time.
  22. My record was about 12 inches 2 weeks ago, but after a lot of practising I've got it up to 29 inches, and I reckon I could go a little bit higher every time I go out and work on them. I believe a high sidehop to be anything over 37 inches, but I've seen people making 48 inches look fairly routine.
  23. Halfords sell them. Not sure about the price. I don't like posting so little....
  24. You're welcome. What's the lowest sort of height you can start to learn taps on? On a good day I can backwheel handlebar height easily enough, and I can 2 wheel higher than that. The thing is I'd like to start small because I'm certain to hurt myself.
