  1. Just ride there, you just follow the river from Waterloo to the Park. The actual spot is beyond a black rail and up a small mound. It's towards the back of the park near the lake and in sight of the big gas tower. It takes a bit of 'trial' and error to find it. Don't forget to bring a towel.
  2. I've been in touch with Gary Masterson who works for the Shell Centre, and apparently they're planning a purpose built trials park with a sliding roof to keep the wind and rain out in the Winter, as well as padded floor in the beginners section. Seriously though, the Shell Centre has metal fences round it, and has done for months now. It doesn't look like much is changing, as all the walls at the Shell Centre (at the top and running down the middle) are to do with ventilation for building. If they do get rid of the walls, then they're obviously doing some very serious work. There are plenty of other places to ride, and by that I mean plenty of places that most people haven't been to; it's only the Shell Centre, we've all been there and done it and it's not the only reason to go to London. I'm giving London a miss this Summer, but if you haven't been there, it's certainly worth the trip with or without the Shell Centre. We ride walls, walls get knocked down, the 'Hexagons' being a prime example of that, yet things get built just as quickly so it's all swings and roundabouts. Regards, Uncle Stephen.
  3. Thanks for the advice, there's so much going on I didn't see that bit. Good video - good riding, good bails, good filming (especially the night stuff I filmed), good music, good editing. All good really. The sad thing is, that's all there really is in Bournemouth!
  4. So... how do I get the video? Do I need to join MegaUpload?
  5. Right, I now have it, but as it's the best video ever, hosting it would be a great idea too
  6. I'm applying for a job as a cameraman and the company want to see pretty much every video I've ever made. Does anybody have an old video called "Jacqueline" that I made with Chai, Staples, Tim and me in it, and could they either host it or send it to me over MSN please? Thanks a lot, Stephen.
  7. I Emailed them back telling them what twats they were but the Email bounced back, confirming that it's definitely a scam.
  8. He doesn't save the company that much money per day, he just spotted a crucial error and sorted it out. The point I'm making is that at Halfords for example, anybody beneath the role of deputy manager has no opportunity to really do anything with regards to improving sales or the way the store works. A postman could never command a decent wage, or demand that he's really good and should get more money, because essentially he just delivers letters. If you work in an industry where there's a lot of money about, you too can make a lot of money, if you work in a local bike shop, the best salesman/mechanic in the world would be lucky to earn more than £16k.
  9. You get paid in relation to what you do. My dad was telling me how last week he saved Cable & Wireless £7million, and that's why he get £10 an hour. In the same respect, accountants, doctors, lawyers etc earn a fortune. Whilst it may seem unfair that somebody in Halfords gets £5 p/h and only £12k a year, do they really deserve any more in relation to the money they make the company? Probably not. So whilst it seems unfair that somebody can sit at a desk and earn £200 a day, whilst somebody else busts their balls all day for £45, that's the way of the world.
  10. It worries me that the idea never crossed your mind. Further cause for concern comes from the admission that you've done this once before and forgotten.
  11. Oh well, X-ups it is then. Having no seat and given Matt's advice I'll just give up. It was a fun idea while it lasted.
  12. Why not contact the people who organise competitions at Hook Woods, who I would presume have asked for permission in the past and are therefore likely to have contact details.
  13. What's the best way to get my bike into a bar-spinnable state? What parts do I need? How much do they cost? Where's the best place to buy them? Also, who wants to volunteer to teach me how to actually bar spin? Thanks in advance, Stephen.
  14. I thought it was pretty good, although for some reason (not riding ability) the James Porter section didn't flow as nicely as the others. The editing was fine and the music was neither insipid nor particularly exciting. The Ashton section was really good once you got past the nostalgic opener, Wayne's section was very good as well, although the medical photo seemed a bit out of place. Finally, the Chris Akrigg section was amazing, really really inspiring riding - like Earthed 3 but much longer. The only problems I had with the dvd was that the camera work was a little dodgy at times; sometimes brilliant angles, but other times a little amateurish, but it's not a professional video so I'll quit complaining. Also there were the odd parts with no music at all, the opening of the Chris Akrigg section for example... it just seemed a bit hollow for 20 seconds or so. So in closing, a very good dvd, clearly not a professional production but very solid all the same. You may now talk amongst yourselves.
  15. Movistar Xtremo! Am I the only person who thinks Ryan Leech looks really unstable on the back wheel? Anyway, Jeff Daddy is much better than Ryan.
  16. The camera work looks a bit suspect, but no doubt I'll be buying it anyway for the riding.
  17. Great stuff. Sean was complaining he'd never been in a video a few weeks ago... now he has his own crash section! Very good video actually... the best NBR one for a while.
  18. If she's likely to ride it twice then don't bother, but at £300 the 2004 Carerra Fury is a bit of a steal. Know anybody who works at Halfords, as they can get it for £255. HOWEVER - they're running out, so you may find you need to get it sent to you from another store. Was £600 though. Edit >>> that was written before I knew the budget, but maybe you could share it?
  19. That's the best short film I've seen, well ever I think. Lighting was awesome, good angles and directing.
  20. I already have the dvd, so I'm not quite sure why I'm downloading the trailer. I'd rate this dvd up there with the best of them, it's no Reed Merschat masterpiece, but it's the best trials film to come out of this country that's for sure.
  21. You heard wrong because: A - It's not a city. B - It's not very good for riding.
  22. Yeah, you should come along Fred. Have you not ridden Bournemouth before? It's ok, there's a fair bit to be ridden, but nothing overly amazing. I'm sure it's better than Salisbury though!
  23. It's Bournemouth, from 5pm if you're interested. Me and Sean are out and about, meeting in the Square outside Debenhams at 5pm.
  24. It's called Spring. It's like Summer, just not as hot and with a bit of rain on the side.
