  1. Not ashamed but being 30+ and 'still f**kin around deciding what route to go' isn't the sort of career advice my teachers/parents were giving out when I was out school and isn't for everyone. Likewise I know a mortgage, career and 2.4 children isn't for everyone but it seems to work for a lot of (happy) people as well.
  2. That's not really something to brag about though is it?! Sounds to me like the Pizza thing was just a means to an end that you've kinda just stuck with even though you hate it. If it were me I'd sack off that one and try and enjoy the Halfords gig as much as you can (show willing, take on responsibility etc.) while keeping an eye out for what you actually want to do. Halfords stores are a little dead end but on the flipside we had one of the chief designers for Halfords here the other day who absolutely loves his job but that's obviously a long way from mending punctures and trying not to put forks in back to front
  3. Quit yer whingin' then! Not even a hint? Peg mounts? Integrated pivotal post? Glow in the dark paint?
  4. Looking good for Lewis now though... Currently hoping for Alonso and Vettel to take each other out to huge applause from the Silverstone crowd.
  5. I was really impressed by the support shown on the stage. For some reason I wasn't really expecting such huge crowds and mania from all the grumpy Yorkshire folk!
  6. Just wondering how many people are following the Tour this year. Watched the majority of the first stage today and will probably keep track of things with the ITV4 highlights programs. Will be interesting too see how Team Sky play it this year and also interesting that Quintana isn't there considering he was closest to Froome last year.
  7. Sooo... What features would you like to see?
  8. Hopefully Lewis being in 6th will make for a slightly more interesting race...
  9. So what features would you like to see?
  10. I won't be able to do the Friday as I'm up in Scotland but should be around on the Saturday and Sunday.
  11. I'm running my arcade with a hope 70 x 25 and that seems pretty good.
  12. Reminds me of Ian Morris- that horrible, forced, lazy style. Impressive rail riding skills though!
  13. I seriously don't understand fatbikes. What's the point? They just look heavy, slow and pointless.
  14. You'll be reet! Just try and relax and be confident and you'll be fine.
  15. Cheeky picture of the ER6 from today
  16. When the guy throws the BMX onto the bike stand... that would dent some road bikes and XC machines I bet, at least remove a bit of paint.
  17. Nah, he's sent something and the missus has lost the receipt containing the tracking number. As has been mentioned, worth asking at the post office where you sent it in case they can do anything but if Mr Postie Johns himself says no then that's probably the answer.
  18. PTFE is super thin and kind of moulds to the threads to seal imperfections.
  19. Was seriously considering spending £2k+ on a new bike but decided that actually I'd be doing it for the sake of it so instead spent ~£250 on the Meta to bring it a bit more up to date. Changed to 1x10 setup with an SLX Shadow+ rear mech, SLX shifter with display removed, XT 11-36 cassette and Superstar 34T narrow wide ring up front. While I was at it I also upgraded from Avid Juicy 5's (running on 185s) to SLX brakes with RT76 rotors, upped to 203 on the front and 180 on the rear. Final change was that I've been messing round with my home made dropper for a while but wanted to try a remote system and since the Meta has a 27.2 post the options are limited. Thought I'd try the cheap option of a TMars Gravity Dropper copy for £47 which so far seems pretty good. The reviews were a bit mixed but mainly were either 'great for the money' or (reading between the lines) 'I have no idea how to work a spanner, set up a cable brake/gears and take my bike to a shop to fix a puncture'. As some people said the lever seemed a bit dodgy so I immediately paired the post to a slimmed down Suntour remote lockout lever which seems to work just dandy. After fitting the Superstar ring I wasn't too happy with the chainline so added some spacer chainring bolt things I had which seemed to work a treat. Puts the ring chain close to the pivot cover things but still clear so no worries. Final note to self: when fitting a new chain to a full sus bike as well as setting the length relative to the worst gearing set up also remove the air from the shock to see how the suspension acts on the chain length. Oops.
  20. That picture of Mark is well out of date. He appears to have undergone valmorification since then!
  21. Pics or it didn't happen. That must be a bloody torture to ride!
  22. Is this being run alongside the Waterside mototrials club or the Waltham Chase guys or similar? All previous years have had the moto as the 'main event' with us cycle guys messing around in between. The moto boys also did the course set up in previous years making it to suit their riders ability (which ranges from little kids going over sleepers to national level riders doing big stuff.
  23. Can someone please remind Abel about the existence of gravity? I mean f**kin' 'ell!
