  1. The guys you ride with will probably know a fair bit, assuming you have people to ride with, your LBS will be able to do most stuff, but a quick search, or look in the FAQ should sort most things.
  2. I think the official world record is held by Petr Kraus, but I'm not sure...
  3. Not an ankle but I severely messed up my shoulder just before the christmas break, still fixing the joint mobility, got tight rotator cuffs and what not.
  4. Two of my friends from back home did it, a brother and sister team they led for a mile or so, but the brother killed his knee, so they limped in in 5 hours.
  5. Now that's a bit of a sweeping statement, I for example can't even remember when I last watched a violent film, I have a vague memory of the exorcist of *insert redneck girl name* sometime last year, but I study martial arts as a hobby and the whole discussion about killing people comes with the territory, doesn't mean I'd ever dream of doing it though...
  6. Just checking, but you did trim the steerer tube on the new forks, right?
  7. Right, to get rid of this once and for all: go to the "status, display and options" part (click on your script name), then go to options, file transfer, install. This will install a microsoft virus checker thingy, won't stop you receiving illegal stuff either, though of course I was only told that...
  8. Seriously impressed, been walking past that tiled thing in Garnethill every Saturday since forever, always wondered if there was a good line on it. It's in Garnethill, if you're at the art school, walk towards charing cross, just before the foot bridge go up the steps to your right, it's there.
  9. It's not actually, carbonic acid is nasty stuff, you'd have to change the coke a few times, but it would work.
  10. Well, that's almost definitely where the noise is coming from, I suggest you check your dropouts for damage and smooth them off if they are, then check the inside of the fun bolts and the ends of the hub in case they've been damaged. The only thing I can think of to cure it would be to put something like sandpaper in there, but I'm not at my best right now after 4 hours sleep then climbing...
  11. When you say the chain comes out of line, do you mean that the wheel is moving in the dropouts or something else? Because if the wheel is moving in the dropouts what's happening is: as you pre-load. the hub is experiencing a force towards your bottom bracket, but the bolts are holding the hub back (by pressing their heads and the outside edge of the hub against the dropout), however eventually you will overcome the force exerted by the hub bolts and when you do so, if it slips suddenly it can make a big bang. Check if your dropouts have scratches from front to back, if they do it's a good indication this is happening.
  12. Read what he's written, you can interpret it both ways, so I thought I'd make sure he didn't kill his, very expensive, hub. At no point in any of the posts does Mat say or imply that he will see if the thread will fit, but then he doesn't say or imply he won't try it. In fact in this post it can be read to imply "it's almost all the same, should I try it". So how about you contribute something helpful, or at the very least (like my post) the potential to be so, or butt out.
  13. If it has a different thread size then it won't fit!!!!
  14. I believe rimjams went to Power Pad backings a fair wee while ago... EDIT Apparently they're now using CNC, even better.
  15. I suggest you guys go and have a picnic on a beach, but make sure you have a fire else you'll get eaten alive by midgies and the like.
  16. In the summer I was staying at a place with a walk in freezer, so we got my mate up at 5 to do the milk run. Next we took his mattress and replaced it with mine, soaked his mattress and shoved it in the freezer. We left the mattress in until 8 that night, he went for his twenty minute run, 5 minutes before he got back we took my mattress back and shoved the frozen one in, then sent him to bed...
  17. Well, my personal suggestion is to get him f**ked on ether, take him somewhere quiet, kill him by asphyxiation, cut body up and burn it, bury the bones in the concrete anchor, drop the anchor in the sea... Also burn all clothes etc in body fire...
  18. Sensei is the correct spelling, assuming it's a Japanese art, but what you describe seems to be closer to the Chinese ding mak system of pressure point fighting, in which case you mean Siphoo. If it is ding mak you're talking about, and your Siphoo is any good, you've got a lot worse to worry about than pissing yourself.
  19. The whole point of the kubaton is that it will cause nothing more than excruciating agony, but not pierce the skin, a kubaton with a sharp pointed end is pointless and dangerous, much like a pen. Seriously guys, take it from someone who knows, there is absolutely no need to carry knives and kubatons when a pen is legal and will do the same or more damage. However if you really want a kubaton here seems like a good place for them.
  20. Thats another thing a pen can be used for, by the way metal kubatons are illegal, but plastic ones are totally legal.
  21. Gentlemen, and old wise man once told me "always carry pen, pen do same damage as knife". Your average BIC is a pretty handy tool. I personally don't actually carry one, but it's a useful thing to remember. Car aerials are also good in an emergency, you know the old sort you can just rip out.
  22. I once ran a snapped axle in a deore hub on my street bike, for 3 months, did a fair few BIG drops on it too. Ran a kool chain for over a year once, my pazzaz bars are about one and a half year old, my vp's are getting on for 3 years old now axles are bent as hell, there's more, but I can't be bothered typing it as I'm tired. Will finish the list in the morning.
  23. There's one on ebuyer called a sum vision, costs about 30 squids and works well enough for me, though some people seem to have been disappointed, according to the comments.
  24. 89 Kg and 189 centimeters. In other words 6'2'' and 14 stone.
  25. I'll talk to him on MSN next time he's online.
