  1. Well, on a normal tyre once it look smooth like that you've worn out all the "grippy" rubber and are down to the stiff ungrippy rubber. In this case the top layer is made of "grippy" rubber and is smooth. So there's more "grippy" rubber in contact with any surface you're on, the theory of friction tells us that the more of a substance there is in contact with another surface the more friction there is... So for street this may actually work, doubt it though.
  2. Mod 3 looks like it would be an amazing comp bike, it looks really sleek and clean, y'know?
  3. I do love you Adam, but in a special way that Northerners have for southerners... On to the topic in hand, what you're paying for with this frame is the development costs, it's a coust redesigned from the ground up, takes lots of moola...
  4. The best way to tell, I've always found, is to look at the lower crown race and see how it's sitting with respect to the lower headset cup. Of it's not inline perfectly you're almost guaranteed a bent steerer tube...
  5. Adam wouldn't do that, he's certified one hundred per cent sheep shagger
  6. Now now Adam, calm the f**k down
  7. Ever ridden XC on a trials bike? that's what it feels like to ride a road bike on a cycle path...
  8. Yeah Connely counts, it's fairly decent too. I think the criteria are: music that is at the least passable while being funny...
  9. I believe the words I'm looking for are f**k YES.
  10. Damn you Charel, I was just listening to Ricky Cheese, was gonna mention him, I'll just resort to Monty Python, with such classics as "Eric the Half a Bee"
  11. I know a lot of people use kools but they change them regularly to make sure. I think Tunni might.
  12. I think the real question is: will anyone with more than 5 brain cells actually watch any of it. EDIT I'm sorry, but I'm a bit of a hater.
  13. Right, my laptop does bluetooth, Wi Fi, has a dual screen, basic surround sound (when in my docking station that is), takes about 30 seconds to turn on, but then takes 5 minutes to load all the shit extra programs.
  14. Land is fairly cheap in canada, he's probably well of, but not loaded.
  15. I could swear that that second picture is from Bristol, just down from castle park, by the water front? Spain
  16. Took 4 minutes, I love uni connections.
  17. Well, I'm doing chemical physics at uni right now, I'm only in my first year and there's not a day that does by where I don't use calculus, hell I even use it in labs.
  18. My Dad explained this to me years ago, if I remember right; the numbers are the ranges of focal lengths as when you focus a lens you are effectively tuning the focal length.
  19. Don't get butt raped or anything, good luck.
  20. From what I've seen of the standard of A level mathematicians on my course, you'll be fine and so would a trained monkey.
  21. Cameron Wood is a total and utter loon.
  22. I'm not worried at all, I leave my frame alone, I don't mind if it has scratches, I'm just making the point that if you live near the sea you're likely to have ally's equivalent to rust, and that it is weaker than the usual aluminium oxide layer.
  23. You might want to try filing spanner flats onto the bolt, but take your time and do it neatly.
  24. It could be the island, maybe its healing powers stop you aging? I though there were 24 episodes a season?
  25. Aran I know you are not that thick, I was making the point that Alu can corrode just like Iron or Steel, it's just given a different name in some compounds. Guys, yes the Al2O3 forms VERY fast, but the impurities in it, where the Aluminium reacts with the salt in the air, will mean that the Al2O3 will eventually transform into whatever the salt is, I don;t want to have to bring REDOX into it, but if I have to I will.
