That's a great article packed with some motivational thoughts. I'm sure we can all do with some of that from time to time, especially trying to get up at 6am on a dark and foggy winter morning! I've always kept in mind a simple phrase which had particular relevance during one part of my life when slogging through education for what seemed ages whilst desperate to get qualifications and be unleased into the world: "The journey is the reward" There are lots of meanings in there: Live in the present, not pining for the past (which you can't change), or worrying/ looking forward to happiness in the future. Happiness is ready to be grabbed whenever you're ready to see the postives in your life which may have been hidden to you due to the way you were thinking. Familarity with things makes them invisable, i.e. good friendships, steady career, good financial status. Find positives in your situation and relish them. Even set-backs can be chalked up as useful experience and cock ups be turned into sources of amusement in time. Once you're content in your own skin, in the face of the ups and downs which inevitably come your way, then you're in a better position to make your own luck. Better future, relationships etc. I really believe you've got to be content with yourself first before others can like being with you, which will help with relationships and jobs etc. Another thing I've found: You should assume that you can't change people's lives for them, but on the other hand be aware of the powerful affect your encouragement or bursts of negativity can have on them. Bit of a bump! Got a Wii from Germany at the beginning of December, still unopened as an Xmas present. What are the latest recommendations on games? I notice that Lego Starwars is out now, and there are other interesting games like the Golden Compass, Spiderman and Super Mario Galaxy. Maybe I should get the online stuff working first and play through some of the old games before splashing out yet more money? Thanks in advance for your advice! We bought a 2nd Nunchuck and controller in Asda today too if it makes a difference. Steve

Nice looking van! The standard wheels look much better that the other one I reckon. It does look to have loads of potential for tweaking to be the perfect bike transportation / sleep over / cruising machine! Big van / bus vehicles rule I really love our 1999 Galaxy. I especially like the way the front seats swivel around 180 degrees in it. Makes for nice in-car picnics! Can't resist a photo repost : There's no way I'd be allowed to cover it in huge decals unfortunately. Make sure you go big with yours! Steve

Be careful not to go through those windows if you stack. I'm sure I would if I had such a set-up! Steve

Hi Alex! The bike is looking great A relief to hear that everything turned up on time, giving the green light for plenty of riding over the Xmas holidays! All you need now is to replace the huge 22t bashguard you have with a more compact and pimpier 18t Cloud9 Middleburn bash. But then I would say that! Have a good one! Steve

Hat's off to you Nick for putting so much energy into coordinating this tribute Just a question: What are the plans for the Mini after its completion? Has it all been thought through so that everything is appropriate and there are no misunderstandings later on. What will it be used for and who will own it? Will it be sold by the family for profit or made available in some way to others? I didn't want this to sound disrespectful, just wanting to make sure that everything was clear to all parties involved before you and others crack on with this considerable undertaking so that it will truely be a fitting tribute long term. All the best with this and well done to everyone who is assisting with their time and money, Steve

Thanks for all your suggestions especially Shav, Tom & nc7r!! I agree with these points about the banner needs to shout bikes, the newsletter submission bit being improved (I got it a little bit better by adding the bullet points and popping a PDF logo up there) - I will be adding a better looking icon which looks like the actual pages, and the text being lost in the top banner. I will sort this issues out and really appreciate the code enclosed nc7r! Keep your eyes tuned Thanks again, Steve

Hi! Here's a link to an older version of the HSB brakepads page where the Red Refill Paypal button is working Red refills in stock I've been given the job of tidying the kitchen now (can't escape those chores!) , so I'll have to wait until later tonight when I can transfer the code to the current page! Thanks for your patience! Steve

Great work Fred and Chris! I love the way you've captured the mood of a street ride alongside the riding. It's how it used to be every evening for me in my local town centre Bursts of riding followed by thinking and watching the world go by. Youtube link Fredz got skillz! Steve

Any things you've organised, or worked as a team on? It's an opportunity to give them concrete evidence of your leading or team working skills. Also, an example where you've shown dedication, hard work, ability to solve problems...etc. Write down loads of things you've been involved with and then next to each I'd bullet point the positive attributes these each demonstrate. This will help you pick out the most powerful response to the question. Then you just need to use English which is loaded with powerful words they can pick up on, much like CV writing. When I was filling in such application forms after Uni, for such a question I would give the example of being involved with the running of the Uni BUNAC club, raising funds, organising events etc. Be sure to write it out on scrap and refine it a few times before committing to the application ! I apologise for the horrendous racket as all games play their music/sound effects at the same time! Best turn your volume down - You have been forwarned! Thanks for the suggestion of BikeMania - Added this and BikeMania 2 ! I'll tidy up the page tomorrow Must drag myself away from these games! Steve

Nice one Sam! Who will be the first to complete all 3?
-
I got a bit flush with success after completing the "Dirt Bike" one, so after the first couple of levels of the "Stunt Bike" one thought I was going to breeze it! I'm now stuck on level 5 of "Stunt Bike", but I can't get enough of riding over the tractor!

I hope you like these games I've gathered together: HSB Games Hall! I'm just getting into the one at the top of the page, and have already spent far too long playing the other 2 aswell! The challenge is to see if you can play without making the "Vroom Vroom" noises. It's impossible surely! Steve

I'd have a look on Wikipedia to uncover all the detail on how Steel and Iron compare for mechanical properties and relevant processes of manufacture
-
As a first step be sure to have the requirements of the design noted, the function is carries out when part of the car. Then an appropriate manufacturing process can be picked out to fulfill the requirements. Highly stressed part or not. Any surfaces that need to be accurately made for fitting other parts onto. Etc, building into a thorough Design Specification for the item, cost, performance... I'm sure you're already familar with Design Specs. In the photo, the example has been machined (the shiny bits) only where the accurate finish is required. As a mass production part, it must have worked out more cost efficient to factor in the high one off cost of the tooling for casting, with the necessary machining only on the important areas for threads and accurate mating of other items. Steve
