  2. Some steel alloy might be softer that high quality aluminium maybe? That could make sense hm?
  3. Have you tried it on rim?Because it DOES take ages to cut with 2types of cutting discs and I can´t imagine it wouldn´t with any kind of disc.
  4. I believe it´s hexagonal only at the very end,but I´m not sure so you have to check it out yourself.Or as revolver said,hd axle is stronger that´s for sure,so it most likely would be worth the investment.
  5. You can tap every axle if you have the correct tools
  6. yes it would be possible and cousts are one of my favourite vee pads too,so it´s a win win
  7. Nah,it´s just how Vees on the back usually are, they are silent in 99%,they aren´t bitey either, but they hold better than maggie in 100%.It´s mostly about setup too, even cheap generic pads like onza etc can work oustandingly good if coupled with good lever and decent arms, clean and well grinded rim a pads hitting the rim perfectly flat.If they don´t hold, you did something wrong.Bite is something you have to deal with if yo want to run grind, only time my vee is really bitey(in fact more bitey than most maggies)is when my rim is almost smooth and with little tar,in that case they are also very loud, but hold isn´t perfect so I prefer excellent hold and silent brake.
  8. I think you are right, might need small modification(filing of this "pointy end" where the reach adjusting bolt sits if I remember) to the blade, but nothing too big.
  9. I was surprised how cheap they were actually, such a nice frames and unique as well.I was expecting something like 1000-1200GBP,at this price it really is a bargaing for frame that most likely will last a lifetime.
  10. I think he actually might be right about the price of tritons this time, basic frame costs around 550GBP,100quids for custom made ti frame isn´t that much of a difference imho.
  11. Hmm,based on the full build pics,it didn´t hold up very well I guess.
  12. He should get vees,he doesn´t realise how lucky he is with V mounts.
