  1. I'm the same, slide a spoke down and squirt some wd40 or hairspray down between the bar and grip. Works a treat!
  2. I'm still a big follower of the cheapest crappiest stickiest hairspray technique!
  3. After my cock up ordering the wrong forks I've 'had' to order Trialtechs instead, oh well I'll get over it!! :D

Yup, read the page wrong and ordered disc forks by mistake, as they haven't got magura mount Monty forks I'll have to make do with trialtechs. It's a hard life I tell thee!

Sounds like you got it sorted, Trialtechs are awesome.

  4. Is it the one with the rusty drivetrain? If it is I spotted it and posted it in the for sale on here cause I thought it was a bargain! It should be a great starter bike for you, as for the brakes I can't personally comment on a BB5 but them and 7's always get great reviews on here from people who use them. The first thing I'd look at sorting is get some new pads for the rear V, either TNN LGV's or Heatsink yellows, and get a grind on the rim. After that I'd look into sorting the less expensive end of things like getting some decent riser bars on there if it hasn't already and get a single speed kit and chain tensioner fitted. To be honest the frame should easily last you a fair while as I'm pretty sure it' the exact same one the MAD demo team use yours just has V mounts on the rear instead of magura mounts, and there are loads of people on here who will swear by the power of a V over a hydraulic rim brake! Just a case of upgrade as you go, get it sorted for singlespeed then as money becomes available and you find you want to upgrade a bit then get the wheels swapped, maybe go for a front freewheel, get a decent spec rear V and maybe BB5 or & up front. Just don't feel you have to rush in and spend a fortune on it as it should be fine for starting up with. Hope this helps!
  5. Wheels looking good mate, get cracking on the other! I love it when a plan comes together!!
  6. Will do cheers Mark, at least if thats the case I guess I'll have to go for the Trialtechs now, oh damn
  7. I know, think its cause I was bouncing back and forth between Urbans and those monty ones and probably didn't read the page properly when I added them to the basket cause it says they come with hs33 mounts in the description. My bad people, do not look at it as a Tartybikes misshap as they managed to take my order after lunch which involved shortening a magura hose and still got it sent out next day delivery! Always great service and I hope we can rectify it in the morning!
  8. Gutted, not sure if its my fault or not but the bloody forks have come without maggie mounts. D'oh!!!!
  9. You'll have to explain that one a little more! How big are you trying to hop currently?
  10. Just eaten my lunch

  11. This lads got one on his Lynx http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/162984-zoo-lynx-09-with-chorrillas-disc-protector/
  12. I'll agree with this, hoping to catch up with the man at some point this year when I get out and about!! Though I'd still like to rob half the bits off it!!
  13. I'd like to say around £650-750 but I don't reckon you'd be able to sell it in one piece for that. If you split it You'd easily rid some of them bits though, I'd have the cranks, freewheel and bash off you for starters!!
  14. Given up waiting on trialparts (they'll probably get back to me now!) and ordered these from tartybikes just. Cheers guys!
  15. You wanna PM Alex Dark, he's the custom making genius. Made a thread the other day about stuff he'd knocked up himself and he uses half of it on his own bike! EDIT: Found it http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/162688-things-what-i-maked/
  16. A lad I ride with has a Trialtech, it's held up pretty well but does skip now and again!
  17. I agree with that Nick, feel like a right peenarse if I'm trying to slow down going down a hill and there's people about. Would sooner jump off or drag my feet on the road, or walk!!
  18. I've voted for HS33, I used to run Hope mono trials on both my mod and stock and tried both in 160 and 180 but found neither delivered enough power for me. This could be down to my technique and me not throwing my weight enough forward on certain things but I like the security factor if a HS33, until my forks brake!
  19. Found this bad boy on eBay, not as dodgy as some of the usual finds but part of it just screams out "I have been stolen!" to me. Could be the description tartybikes.co.uk bike as it has no stickers other than the odd tartys one on it, and the added bonus of it having a singulator??!! Make your own minds up http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TARTY-BIKES-CO-UK-BIKE-MAGURA-HYDRAULIC-RIM-BRAKES-/290549902507?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item43a61facab
  20. Yeah was the steel one but got slung when I had a big clearout, didn't realise till after I'd done it either!
  21. Muel made one ages ago that I had off him to use when playing with my disc caliper but I chucked it in the end. There's a guide to making it he did in the old wiki http://wiki.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php/How_To_Make_A_Disc_Mount_Adapter Might help you a bit!
  22. My phone has just committed suicide!

  23. Wish I'd brought my bike to work, so bored!!
