  1. Can anyone give me some pointers toward polishing my magura cylinders?? I'm gonna swap them over to my SL lever and would like them looking a bit nicer when I get them on the bike!
  2. I've ordered the echo stem, its the biggest I could find so will just have to hope for the best and see how I go. Think riding such a short frame will just take a bit of getting used to!
  3. I'd just like a bit of variety where a line doesn't involve just 1 move like going up or coming down, not ridden at Bracken since I was 17 either and it's only half an hour from home so I'll really be looking forward to that one!
  4. The only trials at my level currently where I live involves jumping up 3-4 ½ foot walls then jumping back down off them so a comp adds a little bit of variety to what I'm used to!
  5. I'll see you at Bracken Rocks then, I'll be the bald, old guy getting battered on the blue route by all the fit youngsters!
  6. Have a search on Youtube for some of Jack Carthys vids. A lot of them are from the cup though he's on the yellow but it should give you a rough idea, may be some vids linked off his that show stuff in more detail.
  7. Right I've got a new Bionic frame built up which is the same geo as a Speedrace Fans mod but as it's considerably different to my old 07 Python frame it's feeling really weird. I'm running it with some Urban forks, 35mm of stackers, a Trialtech race forged stem (165mm x 35°) and some Trialtech sport risers and the front end feels really low. I know this is because its a lot shorter than my zoo and the BB is a lot higher, so was wondering if any tall riders (I'm 6'3") who've ridden Fans' could tell me what front end they ran on theirs so I could maybe have a change around with mine. Before I had an extra 5mm stacker and some 09 TryAll rage bars which had a lower rise so there's not much difference there, just not sure if to try some Trialtech high riser bars, a longer stem (Atomz 170mm x 35° or Echo SL 185mm x 35°) or both on it???
  8. Going off your last vid on the Echo I'd start by giving black a go. Bare in mind that you can change route after you've started if your finding it too easy/hard but I'm not sure how long you have to do that, have to check the rules, but I reckon it would be a good start point. The only British cup round I made last year was the last one at Shipley and the routes there were bloody hard but they'd upped the difficulty quite a bit apparently as people were complaining it was too easy so red may suit you. All depends if you use the bash much??
  9. For the sake of £50 I'd just go with whichever colour you prefer. With the 1.1 your only gaining slightly better cranks and bottom bracket and I assume different hubs though they're not really trials specific so probably won't stand upto that much, though they'd be fine for a beginner. These are both areas you'll probably change in the future anyway which is why I'd put it down to a preference in colour!
  10. Nah not really, to be honest I'm considering going to a front magura as I've just done it on my stock but even then I'd probably leave it smooth for a little bit of modulation. Dying to get out and ride it though!!
  11. Got my new Bionic frame off Alex Dark built up (almost). Its a B5ST according to the Zhi site and I'm pretty sure it runs Fans geo so it should be quite nice, will have a proper measure when I get it home. Spec is all off my old python except for the trialtech bars and headset off Franksx2005. Frame - Bionic B5ST Forks - Echo Urban Wheels - Onza sealed hubs with Echo TR red rims, Stiky rear tyre, Creepy Crawler front Steering - Echo SL headset, Trialtech forged stem and bars with Rockman grips Drivetrain - SL freewheel and bashring, Trialtech cranks, pedals and sprocket Brakes - Hope mono trial 160mm front, 05 maggie rear with 4 finger lever, TNN clamps and booster system and hs yellows Just needs the chain putting on when I get home and can shorten it then I can take her for a test ride!
  12. There are far too many variables to be able to define what the best brakes are, it's just what works for each person.
  13. Just building up my new bike and noticed that my maggie pads had worn so one edge on each has a chamfer to it and can't figure out which way it should be facing?? Do I have it so the chamfer is to the rear of the bike allowing the wheel to turn into it or should it be on the other side so the wheel runs out of the chamfer if you get what I mean??!!
  14. Got my entry in for the 1st round, and I'm glad to see that Bracken Rocks is on the cards. Be nice to not have to travel miles to get there!!
  15. Yeah no problem as long as it was prepped well, he did the frame in this link for Adam at Tartybikes. Did some forks for me just after Christmas, I posted them to him special delivery on the Tuesday and they arrived back with me on the Friday, awesome service and a great bloke!
  16. Unless you plan on some extreme close ups you won't be needing a macro mode
  17. Not true, you wouldn't have to polish up to a mirror finish. The finish of anodising is however related to how well propped the piece is, just needs to be nice and smooth so rubbing down well with wire wool and taking your time is advised. If you have anything else you want anodising however pm me and ill give you the email of a guy who does a great job at great prices! This is true however.
  18. You'll have to get scouting around then for when I come over!!
  19. All 3 series of Bottom downloaded onto my phone, should keep me going at work!!

  20. No worries, as and when you can squeeze it in mate, just let me know how much you want for the postage and I'll sort you out!!
