  1. I'd say finding a wall big enough to be hookable and learning the motion of hooking the front wheel onto it and being able to hold it there is the first step, then add in the hop up from the hook once you're comfortable throwing yourself at a wall
  2. yeah man the white tyres look pretty lame, other than that it's sexy, the white/red magura lever looks sweet
  3. I think "unrestrictive elbow pads" is an oxymoron, I've never had any I didn't hate, and never ever used any for trials You have to take one hell of a nasty fall to shatter your elbow I'd imagine, If you're just starting then I can't see you doing that kinda damage to yourself any time soon, unless you go mad and try dropping way above your abilities
  4. a different wheel size won't give you confidence, it'll give you bigger wheels. Try people's bikes and see what you like
  5. Dunno man haha, not clued up about all the different nike trainers these days, first nikes I've had since I was about 9 I really fancied some hi tops but wasn't too keen on spending like £70 on a pair, then I found a pair on ebay for £45, pretty sexy That was my thought, bit of ankle support
  6. how the hell does that work?
  7. that was pretty much the only half decent place I found in stockport, there were some planters near dawsons too but they were crap to be honest. I bet with exploration something good might turn up
  8. I will soon be running VP cages with nike air jordan hi tops, just to see how it feels if that fails, I'll still be on DC skate shoes with VP cages proven winner!
  9. Decent freewheels everything else can stay as it is, mod frames are WAAAAAY overpriced nowadays, for example. Like f**k i'm spending £350 on a frame alone!
  10. 15 seconds using google brought this up: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/wheelbuild.html#length
  11. Buy your spokes from tartybikes, tell them what hub and rim you have and what type of lacing you want, they'll sort you out.
  12. Content not found. Make the photo album public or post photos by right clicking and choosing "copy image location"
  13. If you can't be arsed removing old liquid, I'm fairly sure you won't be patient enough to properly bleed your brake at all so it'll end up with air in it I've never used the echo brakes, but when I serviced my maguras I gave the cylinders a blast with WD40 and then a blast with an airline to get as much out as poss. I water bled mine though, and then lubed the pistons up from the outside with GT85
  14. Assuming you're gonna be putting a longer hose onto the rear brake, you're gonna be draining most of the fluid out anyway! Spend a few extra minutes clearing the rest out then bleed it with new fluid
  15. This. why couldn't you buy a rear anyway?
  16. I've ridden there before, Wanna go back at some point
  17. Good point, good point, and good point Guess i'll stick to how it is
  18. But if we all stuck to balancing on kerbs and hopping 2 feet between benches, trials wouldn't last much longer would it?
  19. is a spoke tensioner a good idea for a mod? I want to bring the backwheel forward but can't get it all the way, even with a half link
  20. so only one pawl holding it at any one time?! DAAAAAYM sexy bike though
  21. That was awesome! good job the fork snap didn't happen far more dramatically
