  1. why is nearly every website to do with trials rediculously dreadful in layout, design, presentation and use?!

  2. MAN'S REPPIN' ASHFORD TOWN!!! but Folkestone's not bad, Ramsgate is good as well, also Samphire Hoe (by Dover) is good for natural and street riders, loadsa concrete there and a big ol rock pile.
  3. thats weird, I felt the urge to watch this again; finished watching, came on the forum and BAM! It's there! Any news on plans for this year? Or is that classified information?
  4. yeah its a rim brake, and i have already bought it. But you have white inspired stickers yeah? is it the whole sheet, the leftovers of a used sheet or just the little stickers you get with parts?
  5. Don't suppose they were white, or you'd know/be able to look for some white ones for us would you? and second hand Hope FR stem, second hand Echo SL rear brake and some Atomblab GI pedals
  6. it doesnt really matter what model or make you go for as a beginner, just go for whatever is affordable and/or in best condition, this is because most parts are changable from those which are standard to best suit the rider. You couldnt really decide what frame to ride or be told what would be best for you untill you had ridden a bike for a bit and decided what would feel right. The only thing I would say is buy second hand for a 1st bike; especially if its a stepping stone for you. Sizes wise; as said a 26" stock bike. Frame sizes arent listed by manufacturers of trials frames as they are in other diciplines as most frames are small. We cant really advice you on length or rise or any other geo as we dont really know how you want your bike to feel. Edit: I'm from the south-east and I know loads of riders, where abouts are you from 'JMCD'?
  7. everyone I know who has run them has had problems with them leaking fluid
  8. the new HS33s are the same as HS11s so you may as well go for the cheeper HS11 brake. Older HS33s that were still metal came out on top in a recent poll on here a little while ago, so personally I'd say keep an eye out for '05 or '99 style HS33s on here.
  9. ok i get it! I didnt actually know that, thanks for the new info!
  10. I'd say Oddessy Bluebird, in terms of strength, but it seems to be a bit of a wildcard in comparison to all the KMC 'random code's that are being trown about.
  11. My uncle who used to live in Gravesend went for a night out in London and missed the last train back. Him and a friend proceded to steal a rowing boat with the idea of rowing pretty much the whole length of the Thames back to Gravesend. They woke up in the early hours of the morining in thick fog and assumed they were at sea. After around 5 hours it cleared and they rowed to the shore. Cant remember what happened from there. I have also witnessed a mate of mine insult someone at a campfire only for the guy to grab a piece of wood of the fire and chase him through the wood trying to hit him with it shouting 'now you must die!' Personally the only thing I've done is sewn myself to a randomer I only met at that party using a sewing machine. It hurt like hell and we only intended to sew our sleeves not our arms. Cant even remember how we got separate! :/
  12. The Hob Nob will always be king of the biscuit world.
  13. use a block of wood and a hammer, hammer one side in then do the other separately. Thats all I did
  14. I litterally wouldn't care. If I got hit by a car on it, I would still probably have a big grin on my face (as long as the frame ok you'll understand) and thank you Callumm I the Inspired has gained an Echo SL rear brake and a Hope stem since this photo. Likewise the Fixie has inherited the Onza stem seen on the Inspired (being run upside down for acceptable geometry) and also some oversize bars now
  15. I don't actually do the laces up on my FiveTens :$ I just tuck them under the sole.
  16. Oldskooltrials i salute you and your old skool awesomeness, have litterally wanted to own most if not all of those bikes since I got interested in trials. Do I see two Pashley mhz's? That Ashston is also just the definition of cool! Would love to have a go on one of those! I have an Inspired and a Mongoose fixie atm (which just inherited an Onza stem) oh and also an old Raliegh for when I brake both of my propper bikes:
  17. They are a differnt kind of type to what he is looking for though, seems like he's after the 'slipper' sort of style?
  18. yeah i ment bed in had a blonde moment, so what did you do ride around with them on or just on/off or did you ride with them on and then put water on them or what?
  19. you did 'wear in' the pads and rotor right?
  20. Wish everybody could just get along, embrace the community we are lucky to have and maybe even take advantage and be glad of the fact that at the moment the nature of our sport allows a rider to be free in his/herself and be what they want to be and do what they want to do. Now I'm just looking forward to Friday when I'm riding with a new rider who contacted me though trials forum; thats what its all about.

  21. Firstly I am 17 and strongly disagree with us younger riders taking the brunt of the blame here. It's obvious looking over the problems we habe had on here that it is the older members of the forum who cause and/or are more involved with the problems; that is the only judgement of personality I will and/or have ever made on this forum. I personally feel that without trials forum I would not have found the direction I found I wanted my riding to go down, and feel but increadibly privaliged and proud that the trials community as a whole has places like TF and such an open community. It is one which, thinking about, I would love to have more of a role in and I fully intend to have an active role in trials forum for some time, and would love to embrace and become even more involved in the tight community we have. This is because if, for example, if I started to ride BMX right now I could not simply go on a forum and gain advice or even simply talk to the person/people that have inspired me to start riding, just as I have been able to due to the closeness of our community. Of course I am not suggesting that everybody should get on because we ride trials but that it does benifit everybody if the community is able to work together without friction and/or extreme cases of disagreements as we have seen on trials forum. It is however apparent that rather than saying we should all be friends because we ride trials it would be more suitable to say that the key to preventing the extention of the only divide in our community could be the common interest that we all have in riding bikes; trials bikes; whether we ride them in a way which others disagree with or dislike or not. The way in which one man rides his bike should not bother another, but in reality it does, therefore it is apparent that tension will arise from the situation, this is what we are witnessing here on trials forum and what has happened in many sports i.e the development of freestyle BMX from Racing and Flatland from Freestyle. The difference here is that our community is too small for people with different interests to stay separate from one another which causes creative criticisms to become mis-interpreted as insults or for good intentions to becme bad. Ultimately, the way I see the future of TF and the trials community as a whole will probably result in a divide occurring between riders, this would be a real shame for the really friendly community we have and could still have. In the long run I believe the only way to preserve the community would be to eliminate the tension in the community would be to limit the amount of filpancy we see on TF, although this is a shame as it is what makes TF special. It was fairly obvious this would occurr as by addressing the argument as directly as this, I for one, was able to assume that it would become a continuation of the argument that was already occurring, which, it is obvious, it has become and it has become both agressive and unproductive in nature.
