  1. that up to front at 1:38 looks........ just wow! massive some of the best mod riding I have ever seen, shame i had to watch it in mute to really appreciate it
  2. It will definately decrease friction ;-)
  3. I bought a set of nukeproof neutrons a couple years back and i've ran the same set on my last 3 builds, solid pedals.. Loadsa grip too! them saints look p.i.m.p!
  4. i would love to see this happen always been a huge fan of your videos but i haven't been able to find any new ones for a while now.
  5. that was a really good watch, nice location and the riding was amazing, stan is tooooooo smooth and just has the perfect syle for a stock! i am really enjoying watching flipp ride with brakes aswell he is such a beast!
  6. near enough everyone who rides down here in brixham is on dayZ! had a 16 hour session on it yesterday as we thought it was going to rain, so prepared for a night in on dayZ! (it didn't rain in the end lol) what servers do people play on?
  7. posted a few pictures of this bike a few months back after i built it, but it's had a few little upgrades and tweaks here and there so i thought i would throw a few more pictures up! I weigh about 13 stone and i haven't had a single part fail on the bike yet after a good 3 moths of solid riding pretty much every single day since it was built, it's been such a solid bike, and since the try-all carbon handlebars were holding up really well, i like how stiff the bars feel and they seem to cope with me doing like 300 fronthops and gaps to front every day , and because i'm very intrigued/interested in carbon i thought i would give the rockman carbon forks a go! the forks look extremely well made and the matt finish on them looks really nice, i've only had them on the bike for 2 days now but so far they seem so much stiffer than my aluminium forks, even the front brake has a nice stiff feel at the lever! as it goes so far i am very impressed, also pretty impressed with the 6-month warranty that they have ! couldn't be happier with this bike at the minute i am so happy with the way it rides! the carbon downtube protector is a bit of a bodge i must admit, i made it out of the remains of a carbon fiber mo-ped tailpipe but its better than not having one on there lol! have been getting a bit of filming done lately here and there so i will try and throw up a bit of riding footage soon. also i've just noticed that my chainstay protector has spun round somehow and the tarty logo isn't showing (also would like to once again thank the guys at tarty, you guys do a fantastic job of putting up with my countless phonecalls lol) all comments on the bike welcome, let me know what you think.

    Telstar

i have been a huge fan of yours since the "easy muffin" days aener, and i'm also a huuuuuge huge brakeless fanboy (even though all my bikes are now running brakes)! but still, i think that is probably one of the best edits i have seen from you, don't get me wrong your brakeless edit's are absolutely epic, but i'm sure many people would agree that your riding style seems to work really well with brakes! thouroughly enjoyed that, going to watch it again now
  9. £50.. Thats stupidly cheap i should check ebay more often! those levers and arms would last me for the rest of my riding career lol!
  10. Na bud i've had lots of experience with magura's, thats exactly why i hate them lol! Sometimes you do have to remove the rear clamps to avoid contaminating the pads if they are running a smooth rim! Also ive never bled a magura system with oil i always bleed with water and antifreeze, what i meant by hating mineral oil is the fact i have to spend ages cleaning it out of my sink after ive bled out a new magura for someone lol! Basicly what i should have said is that maguras are an overcomplicated pain in the arse compared a V (imo) XD bing ive never seen a 2011 lever leak yet, and ive waterbled maybe 9 or 10 of them with zero problems
  11. me too, V-brakes for the win every single time! the only magura i would ever consider running (even though i wouldn't) is an 04 but still, i absolutely despise trying to set up the slaves perfectly square to the rim (in comparison to a V-arm/pad setup, which takes around 3 seconds per side lol), also i hate the whole idea of 4bolt clamps / hate taking them off every time you remove the wheel / hate pissy little m5 threads in the frame / hate weak crappy mass produced lever body's that disintegrate with every crash (<although this doesn't happen with 04's) / hate bleeding / hate mineral oil / hate olives and barbed fittings / hate seized tpa's / hate sticky pistons / hate being the only bike mechanic in the group of riders that i ride with and hate working on all of the sh|tawfull magura's on there bikes lol! getting back on topic though... if anyone spots a cheap set of avid ultimate's on ebay in good nick, post a link up
  12. some amazing riding in that! i wander why he switched to alloy forks half way through the video right when he started doing some hooks?
  13. Are there any riders in the torbay riding teignmouth today? there is a few of us from brixham heading over to the seafront over there

    Foam Grips

woops... i should have mentioned that i dont ride with gloves lol! neither does anyone that i ride with I probably ride about 6-7 hours a week and ive only gone through 2 sets of rockmans in 2 years, the first pair still havent worn out, i gave them to another rider who is still using them, im sure most foam grips would last that long though if you dont crash very often.

    Foam Grips

I always used to run tt foams.. tryed both thicknesses and didn't like them, they destroyed my hands and i wasnt too keen on the overall length of them they seem really stumpy and short! tryed all the other foam grips on tarty and without a doubt the rockman thick foams ARE the best grips for comfort, thickness, length and durability, all the other people i ride with have converted to rockman foams after trying out how they felt on my bike! (they were all running tt's beforehand)
  16. your probably right, i didn't watch the video in hd so i couldn't really see anything in great detail lol, but whatever it is it sounds like its got sh|t loads of engagements / really loud!
  17. what kind of chain is that? im not 100% sure but it doesn't look suitable for trials, i always see those kind of chains on road/race bikes!
  18. wicked video i cant wait to see some more edits from him this year! is that a profile elite rear hub he is using?
  19. there is a group of us who all live in brixham that ride the torbay area regularly, normally if the weather is a bit crap we will stay in brixham, but if its nice weather.. there is quite a few spots that we ride in paignton and torquay mainly around the sefront! also would any of the dartmoor riders in this thread mind sharing the names of some good spots to ride up there? a few of us from brixham went up to hound tor last weekend and its the first time that any of us had been to dartmoor with the trials bikes (i've only ever been up the moors 2 other times and it was without the bikes and everything was coated in like 2 foot of snow), but yea basicly when we got up there to ride, most of us struggled to find anything easy or safe to warm-up on at hound tor and most of the lines that we found were either huge or sketchy lol! i am still really keen to go back to the moors again a.s.a.p and everyone else still wants to go back, but i said i would come on here first and try and find out the best places to ride up there, so any spots that you guys can recommend i would be really gratefull! shame i don't really do facebook because that Southwest trials group sounds pretty cool!
  20. i've noticed a couple people on this topic, and in other topics, questioning the strength of those echo pedals! i wouldn't consider myself too heavy (11.5 stone) and im certainly not a basher, but i snapped 2 pairs of these pedals in precisely the same place both times on the drive side pedal axle! i would still buy another set again as they are actually really nice pedals and probably the most comfortable/grippy pedals ive ever used, but i wouldnt use them as frequently as i did and i would make sure to throw them away after a good 4-5 months riding (or do what i did last time and sell the remaining parts on here like the pins and the cnc pedal bodys!) the first time they snapped it was such a huge crash it almost ended my riding career, but luckily it didn't... and now i always make sure i regularly check my pedal axles, i noticed that they will start to bend a tiny bit before they eventually snap... the best way i found to check this is to remove the pedal from the bike and remove the axle from the pedal, stick the axle either in the end of a drill or a lathe and spin it up nice and fast and it will become very obvious if there is any bend in the axle it will be very easy to see! and back on topic with damon's jaf frame.. that is such a clean and functional build i love it, cant wait to see what damon can put this frame through and how well it can handle it! i reckon a jaf frame will definately be the next thing on the list for me when my echo frame gives up! actually, i honestly wouldn't be at all surprised if the majority of the riders on this forum end up eventually going back to reliable, well made, high quality, custom, reasonably lightweight, stiff, maintainable, repairable, affordable steel frames! jaf f.t.w.
  21. yes i am happy to, as long as your not just saying those 6 words to coincide perfectly with my remark from earlier about twitter posts! lol #nohardfeelingsbro.
  22. sorry but everything you have posted so far has been pessimistic and just generally not interesting, or even going against helping out other riders! and your really taking the whole "piece of paper" thing wayyyyy overboard, it was an EXAMPLE after all! obviously trials has no money as a sport... it probably makes up about 0.5% of the whole bicyle industry lol, but my concern was the riders who have no money whatsoever... they cant afford to keep buying expensive parts that they know nothing about and then they have to replace them every month because it failed on them! ive tried out so many different parts in the past few years.. and i know i could have saved a heck of a lot of money/time/injuries if more information was readily available on the majority of these parts! i think a section on this forum for bike parts like the pad reviews section would have helped me and hundreds of other riders out plenty of times! so yea... i think rather than taking your idiotic and blissfully unaware approach of "Buy shit. Ride it. Break it. Buy more shit. S'all good"... i think something better than that can be done for us riders! oh i just had to google what a #towie was..... i still really dont know what you meant by that!
  23. give what a rest? i was agreeing with what trials hoe had suggested! sounds like he had a pretty good idea to me! oh wait..... i assume you got offended by the "above hollyoaks IQ level" part of my post, and im sorry that you fall into that category!, anyway it would be a great help if you were to stop posting pointless/pathetic/pessimistic posts on this topic, as i was generally trying to work towards something that might be able to help out other riders.... and you keep coming out with really unhelpfull crap! go and post your 6 word answers to everything on twitter, and let any meaningfull trials discussions continue on here
  24. i couldn't agree more with this, this would be a lot of help for with people with an above hollyoaks IQ level who are actually concerned about the parts that they decide to purchase! i did point out that the estimated lifespan of parts that i was talking about was just an example! i was kind of hoping that someone would come up with something better than that, and you already have
  25. nothing in my post has any realtion to crying whatsoever ! anyway... read the first post on this whole topic, the guy was asking if those cranks snapping like that is a one off or has anyone else seen it happen! which is pretty much what i have been talking about... nobody really knows anything about how these new products are tested etc etc, and it clearly does influence peoples decisions on wether or not they buy the product or not!
