  1. Hell yeah! Took some branston beans though, think the lower stem has sorted the ride out completely!
  2. Had my mod for a couple of weeks now, it's been a real learning curve since I've been riding stock for so long, but I'm glad I've stuck with it, been having a lot of fun recently! BIG thanks to my gf for offering to come out and take some pics, she's never even used a digital camera before (other than nights out) and I think she's done a proper good job. Check out the gurnnnn! Up to anchor thingy... Then gap to rail Lil sidehop Sidehop over rail Gap to rail Gap to rail Sidehop Bunnyhop to rear And again And again! Gappage Famous bench gap Giving it the beans Up to bin Swap Bunnyhop Byebye! Hope you like, nothing massive going down but it's all good fun! PS - Mods are still gay. PPS - MASSIVE shout out to Tartybikes, Adam and Dave have helped me out big time over the past few months, didn't have a clue about mods and they guided me through everything, and Dave even lent me a rear wheel so I could ride whilst we were waiting for the Monty hubs to come in. So yeah, bum to Tarty
  3. This is quite a common problem with trials riders, usually down to the fact people don't bother to warm up correctly. Some people might be a little embarrassed standing in the street warming up, but taking 5 minutes doing simple stretches, especially concentrating on your back, will pay dividends. I find after a 5 minute stretch I'm far more flexible and can even control my bike easier. I used to suffer with lower back pain, but I regularly stretch before rides nowadays and very rarely have problems.
  4. Peter pork sword! Keeping the proper Kent scene alive, good old days my son good old days! I might be home either this week or next, will bring the gay bike and we can rinse some old fashioned lines! Love the vid btw
  5. 110% they have changed, I don't care what Deng SAYS, the fact of the matter is they have! I have the really old original ones with hollow "Zoo" logos, rather than filled in. They have a much higher rise than the new ones, and are the best bars I've ever used! The new ones have a solid logo and are far lower, and I do believe a tad wider. I was on a group ride today, 90% of us had Zoo bars and it was VERY easy to see the differences. So Dengola must have been on a fag break whilst his factory churned out some different bars or something. Phil, if I were you I would tell Deng to keep an eye on his workers.
  6. It's all pretty much been said, but it has got to be Danny. Damon is a complete beast, but I can think of a few more riders who ride VERY similar. Danny is 100% unique, there are plenty of "street" style riders out there, but the way he rides is on a completely different level.
  7. Yep, those were the days... I'm glad someone is still keeping the scene alive!
  8. As a general rule... Tilt them forward for hoppy hoppy tap gap sidehop comfort, tilt them back for streety bunnyhop spinny ease of pulling up love. That is the general rule for all riser bars really. But as said previously, experiment!
  9. Hmmm doesn't sound ideal... I've been working it out price wise, and the Hope isn't realllllly uber amounts more once I've taken into account a decent lever and cables... I'm leaning towards a Hope now, might just bite the bullet and go for a pair.
  10. I appreciate your comment I actually really like the feel of the front avid, so if the rear was a similar thang, I'd be more than happy with it.
  11. That's a possibility... I have seen them, will look into it! Just need to find somewhere with rear 180/185mm in stock!
  12. Agreed, I'm running a Linear Slic on the front but doubt it would be long enough. I was considering something like an Avid Flak Jacket for the rear, should be long enough for a silly little Monty...
  13. Haha, more info needed!! I'm interested in hearing from people who've used the setup. I don't like sponge! I love the front Avid feel, just need to know if the rear will feel similar.
  14. This is unchartered territory for me, so advice greatly appreciated... Looking at going dual disc on my new Monty 221. Currently the choice is between a 180mm Avid BB7, or 180mm Hope Mono Trial. I already have a front Avid, but the rear is what I need advice on. I know both have their fans, but my main concern was the cable on the Avid... I mean it would have to be run with a full outer, which concerns me. I was wondering if anyone ran the Avid, and could describe the lever feel? I don't want a ridiculously spongey brake! If the Avid feels good, then that's a bonus, as I already have the front from my stock. Saves me uber amounts of money (as I'm gay and would want a pair of Hopes if I got a rear!). So basically, rear Avid with full outer cable housing, yay or nay? Cheers!
  15. 400d is a great piece of kit. If you are buying a "lens kit", then it's true the Canon lenses aren't QUITE as good as the Nikon. But if you go for body only, you have a massive amount of choice with the Canon. 400d imo is a superior camera to the Nikon's until you get to the D80. The sensor cleaning DOES work! It is exactly the same as the Olympus system, there is a pizo-electric system which shakes the sensor every time the camera is powered up and shut down, but does not interfere with the start-up time which is still 0.2 seconds. 10mp doesn't really make a difference until you are really blowing up, or cropping to a massive degree. 9 frame auto focus, 3fps, LOTS of lens and accessory choice (battery grip with shutter release for example, giving you extra battery power AND another shutter for portrait shots if you need). 400d wins for me, yes it is smaller than the Nikon, so obviously get a feel for them, but in performance terms I think it pips it
  16. Nice one dude, always good to see a bit of home Still rinsing I see!
  17. Very nice mate, some good lines there - makes a change from getting soaked at Castle Park
  18. Haha no it's not me mate... Get your asses to Bristol and re-unite the pork chop lamb shank minted lamb burger goodness.
  19. Hardly worth mentioning: Ford Fiesta Mk3 1.1 P.O.S Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 16v P.O.S Renault Megane Coupe 16v New Clio 1.2 - worst driving position EVER Peugeot 206 CC - hairdresser tastic Vauxhall Corsa 1.8 SRi - unbelievably unsatisfying Peageot 106 GTi - plenty of laughs, apart from having to practically hold the dash on whilst cornering Toyota Carina 1.8 Ford Transit Fiat Punto VW Polo GT Renault Clio 172 - like a bus to drive, handled well but not for me Peageot 206 GTi 180 - massively dissapointing VW Golf mk2 Bit more interesting: Honda Prelude 2.2 VTEC (Import) Toyota Starlet GT Turbo (Import) Ford Focus ST "Asbo" Honda Civic Type R Vauxhall Astra (rally) Land Rover Discovery (off-road) Lotus Elise (1.8 K Series) - Track Caterham 7 - Track Subaru Impreza WRX STi Type UK - Track Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII MR - Track Porsche 911 Carrera - Track Ferrari 360 Spyder - Track Ferrari 355 ex-Challenge Race Car - Track Honda Civic VTi almost completely track spec as a daily driver for a year - most fun per £ I've ever had And finally settled with a Corsa 1.2 blue machine of love as a swap for the Civic... Was a hard choice but economy was required.
  20. Wow, Martin Parsley - I used to go to school with him, he's been riding longer than me and that's well over 7 years haha Small world. Nice pics
  21. Back on the Pure of cracked love. Silly modern Dengola frames just don't cut it with the man. I'm bumming him today so gutted to all the other bummers. Bum.
  22. Signed - I've ridden Castle Park every ride since I moved here, and I'd be gutted to see it go. Especially as there are still some lines that need to be nailed!
  23. Oi jeffrey, if you are after something similar to replace your Control, have a look at the new Pure, like Prawn said. It's very similar. Buy it and come to Bristol slag.
  24. I think everyone is missing the point... How amusing seeing that thing twin drifting with the Kei Office S15 Silvia in the D1 Champs... The answer is clearly VERY amusing.
  25. I may well be out, I'll try and get Rowan out too if his bike is semi sorted.
