  1. I wondered if at those angles and tensions that the friction would be enough. Might cause an issue with the cross pattern unless you go - in flange over flange and back through. That would probably stop any kind of slippage but the flange might not enjoy it.
  2. Looks fantastic! anything stopping you using it as ‘pairs’ of spokes and halving your hub end splice time? Might create an odd load on the flange but should be ok?

Verstappen is a joke. Some of the worst and most blatant cheating I’ve seen. He had one great move at a restart to get ocon and Hamilton but Christ the rest was so shitty. Makes schuey look like a f**kin saint edit: I’m not really referring to the ‘brake test’ as although that was pretty dim, Hamilton was also playing at that point a bit, it’s the divebombs with no intention of making the corner and just saying move or be taken out.
  4. got a google doorbell for being able to answer the door whilst I'm in the shed. That all works fine and dandy, problem is when I'm out the notification for a doorbell push is a tiny short ping or buzz (I run silent all the time) which i can't even feel when my phone is in my pocket. Can't change the notification type at all and it doesn't just 'ring' like a video call which would be so much better. Stoopid google are idiots.

Which forks did you get? I was thinking about it but availability is zero at the moment. There seems to be suntour and rst spex air forks that look decent.

Vitus came back in stock and they randomly delivered it today (told me it would be next week!) looks pretty cool but the tyres are mahooosive! Going to get something smaller to roll around the neighbourhood on and get used to it.
  7. as awesome as this bike looks (and is), I have no idea how people can get their bikes off the ground with the bars that high!
  8. I don't think many have local only functionality. Shelly stuff is but a lot of the big boys have kept it cloud only i think
  9. call their bluff and say you don't want it....
  10. Looks like the bulb pop is going to mean special administration - so tariffs stay the same for now.

Glad she's getting better. Interesting how long its taking to show a positive test. Hope you and the boyos stay clear! It is a bit mad that you can go about your business now in a household with positive tests!
  12. It’s like waiting for another Binky video…

    Covid19

As far as I can tell - the countries with highest vax rates have eased restrictions the most. Couple this with the temperature dropping its fairly expected ? I read an interesting article about the effects of reducing measures at the end of vax periods, leading to resistant strains etc. Best advice was to keep some restrictions for some time. Situation in Austria seems slightly different now? Vaccine is mandatory and the lockdown is everyone ? This I do not agree with, the worst of both worlds.
  15. I run ultimates - seem pretty stiff, if they aren't available isn't kevin liu making something pretty similar with lykke trials?

It’s true there probably would be many other better ways and better groups to single out, but this would just be a really easy group to split out that would be (sort of) fair in that people could choose to, or not to. If it were BMI people couldn’t necessarily choose to get a better bmi very quickly! It would also be a group that would undoubtedly work from a statistical point of view. I’m not suggesting in any way that unvaxed people should be punished/shamed/locked up etc, I just don’t disagree with it as a solution to a problem. I wouldn’t want this, I would only be ok with this if it got to the point we needed another lockdown.

I disagree strongly with the opening statement. Peer reviewed science has shown these things. Vaccines reduce your chances of getting covid, reduce your chances of needing hospital treatment, and reduce the chance it is transmitted.

    Covid19

line is drawn at an increased immune response to covid in your body. I get it, you could dig down waaay deeper into an individuals health I mean I’d happily make smokers have to have private health care, but this is an easy yes/no situation that would get results is doable and is fair. Because like it or not someone who is vaccinated has an increased immune responses to the virus. It’s not a cure no, it doesn’t fully protect you no, but it will reduce your risks of having to have medical treatment by a large amount and will also make it less likely you will pass it to someone else. I am being a little devils advocate here, and I know there are plenty of people who can’t have a vaccine and those people would be forced to lockdown, but at the point it’s required, those people will probably be shielding by medical advice anyway. I just think if it came to the point where we needed another lockdown, I’d be ok with it. Not that that’s going to happen now.

They can, but transmission rates are lower in vaccinated people AND they are at massively reduced risk of being hospitalised or dying. I would be on board with it as long as they included those with natural response (had it and recovered with proof), end of the day - it’s a choice. Everyone is locked down except those who can prove reduced risk…

    Covid19

Why? people were locked down in entirety to protect themselves and others from the risks of covid. The risks for the unvaccinated haven’t changed, and with rising cases it puts people at significant risk with health services under more pressure etc…

They locked down everyone earlier in the year and last year, would you say this is worse or better?
