Testing has begun! My favourite part of the year. Seeing all the new bits and bobs and different interpretations of the rules. Happily all the cars are pretty different, but i think merc and the bulls look way more developed. Might not be the fastest but look like they've spent the most!
  6. 1st birthday is for the parents. You've earned it!
  7. 'kin 'ell. You guys are smashing through it!! Looks great! Happy Birthday for tomorrow.
  8. Only thing I would add to that is, we know a few people who have made very rigid plans, for example to have no drugs, only to find they needed all the drugs and having a really bad experience because it wasn’t part of the plan. have a plan but be very open for it to change. We didn’t really make a plan, but if we had it probably wouldn’t have worked as Claire had a routine checkup that turned into a scan, that meant she was induced next morning. 3 days on a cramped ward in pain, then being ignored about contractions to the point where when we finally got to the delivery room, there was no time for an epidural, so it had to be gas and air only, then had to have an epidural afterwards anyway to fix a tear, so she missed the first couple of hours with Griff. Sometimes you just gotta roll with it. People make a big deal of the birth but the reality is once it has happened you realise how unimportant it is.
  9. My one bit of advice (only thing I would change) is having family close by. The lack of any time off in the first few years without any hope of a regular bit o babysitting is hard. Bedtime is 7:30, and has been for some time, and not being able to go out after this (together) is tough. It’s quite isolating, as that’s basically when people socialise.
  10. dadmobile complete. I’ve never had a boot liner before, but this seems a great fit and perfect for muddy things after bike ride or walk. aero bars were a bit of a faff to fit and the flush rails seem less secure to fit to but we will see! Dave only fits on with the bars turned round it’s so long
  11. First proper ride today. Awesome! Cant ride it for shit, but it was fun. Despite its weight its surprisingly easy to go up steep stuff, no wheelies just ploughs on up. Bit of a bus on really tight turns but feels great pretty much everywhere else. PS Garden needs a tidy then
  12. The new bike is awesome. I can almost now do a bunny hop on it I love it, it just seems to bulldoze over everything.
  13. Oh nice - I’ve been looking at building some of their road bike rims for aaaages. Might get some for the new 29er at some point.
  14. Unexpectedly a new wheel arrived today! So if the weather's ok, me and Griff will go have a gentle roll around somewhere tomorrow.

    Covid19

I guess, we don’t know what ‘covid only’ on the death certificate really means. It could be that a large number could have pneumonia listed alongside covid (for example)? The only other thing I would say is how many people have an underlying health issue that they don’t know about? I'm not really adding anything here other than these stats might not be ultra reliable. But certainly they point towards health being massively significant, which is why I would be on a vaccine side (as a sort of healthy person) as it decreases transmission to those at higher risk without putting me at increased risk. (Sorry vax chat)
  16. How did you go through two sets of brake pads in 300miles?!

    Covid19

That’s a small number is my only thought. However, not hugely surprising as underlying health conditions are very likely to be mentioned?
  18. bike arrived and its great - odd to ride but seems to steamroller over anything! Downer is the rear wheel has to be replaced on warranty as the rim join is completely out of line. So I have to wait for monday/tuesday for a proper ride.
  19. high top all the way. if you are paying a premium to get a van in the first place - may as well get a biggie. Big vans are so easy to drive, Ive driven loads of sprinters and they are much more manoeuvrable than my estate thanks to the driving position and the steering that almost puts the wheels at right angles. I would also suggest converting a bigger van might be cheaper in the long run...
  20. Bike build happening Wednesday! Hurrah!
