  1. Sorry to sidetrack this thread , Bigman , but by god : What a good loking bicycle , Monkey Boy . Dunno exactly what it is about it , because I'm usually only attracted to colour coordinated bikes , but this looks a corker . In response to the Photoshop request - sorry dude , I'm terrible at things like that .
  2. The Lord Of The Bashrings ... >_< Sorry , couldn't resist . Note my avatar , too. "Whom do you serve ? "

    My Dmr

Gotta love those Flashing valve caps ! Good lookin' bike , but like Trials star asked , what front lever / caliper do you intend to run ?
  4. You've got me worried now . What's the relationship between running spacers and fork snappage ? Kinda worried because I run 4 spacers , and as my user name suggests , I'm rather fond of endo - hopping . I'm hoping that using a Headlock might at least save my cabling , as suggested above in case of catastrophic fork failure .
  5. You've answered your own question here , I think . The X-Box they tried to retrieve now belongs to the shop , so it's their responsibility to collect their own property , unless stated otherwise on the reciept / correspondence . Just keep quiet , and hope they forget ."
  6. Can't really fault the advice to wear a helmet . A lot of people use the " but it doesn't look cool " defence , but I think wearing one actually looks very professional . We all look up to the Ashtons and Hermances of this world , and usually see them wearing helmets . It naturally follows that I aspire to ride like them :"> , and thus wear similar gear . O.K , lids do get hot when riding vigorously , but they give a certain confidence boost , and one less worry at the back of the ( now protected ) mind . Glad you're still with us , Tarty .

    Shoutcast

Yeah , been listening to shoutcast for ages , usually whilst at work . There's really something to suit everyone's taste . I'm afraid I got a "Page cannot be displayed " message from your link , but as you say , you're not broadcasting full - time . One of my favourites is Groove Salad , ( Soma FM ) , and another one that offers ambient and chilled vocals .
  8. Google goes without saying. www.sachsreport.com is also great , although this month's offering is rather meagre.
  9. Been using these for a while now , good grip , excellent minimal styling and pretty well ventilated , too . Not sure about availability though , cause I got em in Holland .
  10. Congratulations , you've made your bike much heavier . Only kiddin' , looks really great . In fact , seeing your excellent results , you've inspired me to finally go for it . How did you prepare the frame before applying primer , if at all ?
  11. Something kinda like this...

    Pain?

Reckon we'll ever see trials -related clinically recognised disorders ? Things like tennis elbow , but more like Magura-finger , Rider's shin syndrome , Chronic bunny hop back or Brake squeak induced hearing impairement ? Sorry to make light of your ailment , Zoojames . Everyone encounters pain / discomfort whilst riding at some point . Trials places unusual stresses on certain joints and muscles . I'm curious to see long term studies of trials' effects on the body , but given it's a relatively recent sport , I guess that makes us Guineapigs . We'll all be either super fit and flexible in our old age , or confined to wheelchairs . ( with Chris King hubs .) (Y)
  13. This reply may be a bit late , but simply remove the jockey wheels in your mech , mount it correctly , then replace the jockey wheels with the chain correctly threaded .

    Text Talk?

WTF ? Duz ne 1 no y people rite lik th@ m8 ? It is indeed massively irritating , and a perversion of a beautiful and complex language . Being Dutch , I spent a long time learning English , and have come to prefer it to my native language , only to see it blatantly disregarded by many . As you say it is literally pointless , saving neither time nor effort . On the rare occasions I do use MSN , I make a point of correctly annotating my sentences . There's really no excuse , and these truncated sentences aren't even punctuated correctly . I guess I must be getting old , or am no longer "cool ." :"> EDIT: l33t is pretty interesting , being a language that cannot be spoken. Pwn3d n00b !
  15. Too dammned much ... yet paradoxically , not enough . About 1700 euro , I expect . ( Holland .) Can't really quantify the value of what Trials has brought me , confidence , patience , fitness , buddies , erm...scars :">
  16. Like it lots , but I'm a sucker for BTs anyway , lovely . If you cover the new paint job with some layers of lacquer , it'll be more durable and scratch resistant .

    Front Hops

Given my forum name , I feel obliged to offer my assistance . Presuming you can endo-hop fairly confidently already , rotating shouldn't be hard . As Dave Gill suggests above , use your feet to keep nudging the rear wheel around . The really important thing though , is to rotate slightly at take off already . As if you were doing a small front pivot , this momentum will stay with you as you start to hop . It's much harder to rotate once you've started hoppin ' . Feels and looks great when you get it . Have fun .
  18. Kind of embarrasing , really . I'm having problems getting it up too . :"> :- Should I try to adopt the backhop stance for manualling ? That would seem logical , given that it's the balance point on the back wheel . I can wheelie just fine , and occasionally stand up from it and roll for a few metres , but the Arcane art of manualling continues to elude me . Help !
  19. Thanks for your response , James . I'll do exactly as you say : Lightly sand the existing paintjob , apply primer then paint then lacquer . I've actually contacted a professional respray company , who quoted me 135 euro for the whole job . Cheaper and more interesting to do it myself . As for the paint itself , Halfords spraypaint OK ? Or do you have any reccomendations ? I want a clean , bright white , like BT's Raven for example .I'll let you know how I get on , probably post pictures up if it ends up lookin' good . Thanks again .
  20. That matches so nicely with the colour scheme of your frame . I nearly shed a patriotic tear , as an expatriot myself . Must have had a tough time finding / ordering the original saddle out in Israel . I worked on a kibbutz ( sp. ) there for 2 months and sorely regretted not taking my bike . Beautiful country . Neat seat .
  21. OK , OK ... I regret having missed it already ! So much great riding going on , it's great that the foremost riders of the world are so accessible here , allowing anyone to ride with 'em . Sweet video , tough speed trials section with the suspended planks .
  22. I don't seem to have that clip anymore , but a search turned up this... http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....40&hl=hurricane Perhaps someone still knows / has it ? Either way , awesome move .
  23. Thanks , Waynio . Too late unfortunately , as Bikedock have already recieved the cut out section . I suppose a phone call thanking Bike-It in advance and supplying any further information they may need wouldn't do any harm though . This whole being bikeless vibe is beginning to make me realise still more how much I value being able to ride , and having the freedom to do so when I choose . Patience . . .
  24. Very helpful guide , I'd read it a while back out of casual interest , but it seems I'll be needing your apparent expertise on this subject soon . I'll be recieving my new frame ( a BASE TA26 ) soon , and want to paint it white before installing Headset cups etc . I'm not entirely sure whether it'll be Black , Red or scotchbrite on arrival , because it's a warranty replacement , so I can't be picky . Given that the frame is entirely new , fresh out of the box , will this require stripping at all or can I simply degrease and apply primer before spraying ? Any tips or information would be greatly appreciated . Thanks in advance .
  25. QUOTE : "he is probarbly scared of orange peel or something stoopid like that ." HaHa , well funny . Ever see akrigg's "hurricane " at one of the previous Bikeshows ? He kinda throws the bike backwards onto a large spool , coming to rest on bash and rear pedal with the still rotating front wheel hanging off the front . Confused ? Sorry , but that's testimony to how mental the move was . Was posted as a clip a while back , featuring Eddie Tongue and Akkers . Mental indeed .
