  1. Actually, it's what I read on the forum but I don't think it's necessary if you work well with the Stanley knife. I don't think it'll make much of a difference.
  2. After cutting the knobs off you take the angle grinder to finish it off.
  3. I hate it when she thinks half of a thought and confronts me with the other half expecting me to f**king understand what she's talking about. I hate it when she's in front of me during a bike ride talking to me w/o turning her head expecting me to f**king understand what she's saying.
  4. Thank god he's riding brakeless...
  5. You do know that multiplication comes before addition so X would be 25 and not zero. I'd call that a proper fail!
  6. The problem I see with a validation policy of old (as I have understood it) is that you won't have any more members as people won't stick around to be validated AND it seems that this validation would be influenced by where people come from as well. Don't ask me for quotes but I am under the impression that whenever someone isn't from the isle he's eyed more critical than others. You do seem to be a very closed group of a certain kind. It just may be because I don't understand your way of humor but I don't think that it's just this. I am not referring to myself or Clerictgm but other instances where people not from England are getting criticism where there's nothing really to criticize.
  7. Hello, I've started with trials a year ago on a 24'' street trial, then I went over to a 24'' 'pure' trials frame and now I've got an Echo 24'' dual disc. I always thought that the Echo (1050/+70) run with a 150/30° stem and Trialtech Sport carbon bars was the best setup until I had the opportunity to try two stocks. The first one was a Bionic (1090/+70) and the second a Koxx Sky (1095/+65), both with the above stem size and Try All Carbon bars. This time I rode the Bionic it just felt right. Whatever I did I felt more confident and moves on the rear wheel just felt so much better. Even the pedal up, although harder to lift the front wheel up, was better as I still had some leverage when kicking with the strong foot. Then I tried the Koxx and I experienced the same. After running both of these frames for a while (on different days) I went back to my Echo and just felt weird. I just didn't like the feel of it anymore. So here I am wondering if I should get rid of my Echo and buy a stock. And now my actual question. How would those stocks compare to a Rockman Liberté (1090/+55) with its lower BB? As it seems to be a pretty good frame and on offer where I am from I was considering it. I just don't want the 26 I'm gonna build to feel like my Echo only with bigger wheels. Any suggestions? Nico. p.s.: I should probably get a Bionic frame right.
  8. I have but my opinion doesn't matter on this forum.
  9. It's not necessary. You can use pretty much any Servo Wave lever with any the 820/640 caliper. The 810 lever just feels better. From what I've read on the XC forum, the newer style lever is supposed to have a better hydraulic advantage and should therefore make a stronger brake but that's just hypothetical thinking.
  10. Calm down. Just because my Zee caliper (1:1 to the Saint 820) broke (and that of some other guys) doesn't mean that the brake is any worse than the 810. In the beginning I suspected this but as I have seen some broken 810 calipers as well now* I'd tend to say that the 640/820 caliper is just as strong (or weak) as the 810 one. So if it works for Leon and Ali, I had bad luck. As for braking power, you can't really say anything as you haven't ridden neither on a trials bike. You've just invested a truckload of money into Hopes w/o even bothering to get som 810levers and pair them to 810 or 640/820 calipers. *probably because I came into the Trials business way after the 810 and have concentrated on the 640/820
  11. I wouldn't care. That's why I go riding.
  12. Echo Quality Team wrote: We have done some searching on the frame number that you have provided earlier, we did not discover the problems on this batch of frames. If you check on our website and you will see that 24” bikes comes with 180mm discs, that means we have sold lots of frames/bikes together with 180mm discs brake without any problems. We did make one batch of frames that has lower mount but that’s 26” frames not 24” frames. Have you tried using our 180mm disc brake on the frame? I understand that our disc/brake is not perfect as others but this might be the solution for the problem. Funny that not only Tarty but my German dealer as well have come around the same problem with the f**king 24'' frame.
  13. Black forks and stem and racing line levers for me. But it's still a very good looking bike.
  14. Isn't TRA running the BB7 on his bike? If it doesn't limit him, it doesn't limit you. The BB7s are very good brakes, when setup with linear housings, standard sintered pads and Shimano rotors (Just because the Avids are never really true from the start). I agree with you that the lever feel is worse but pretty much every hydraulic brake has a better lever feel than mechanics. Oh and I have come to conclude. I'm not a good enough rider to be able to say anything about how some brakes are better than others. I ran Shimanos on my bike and was very happy with their performance until the caliper broke. Now I ride Hope Trialzones and am very happy with their performance. I'd rate them the same but, as I said, I don't do any 10foot drop gaps or whatever, where the Hopes might perform worse than Saints.
  15. I got a Maxxis Snyper for the front which is miles better than the Rocket Ron. I don't know how it compares to the Kenda though. I also got a new Swampthing ST and a used HighRoller ST. I swapped the latter for the Conti and so far can't really complain.
  16. Unfortunately. I didn't believe all the rumors about the MacAskill tyre but it really IS better than a Super Tacky Maxxis. Now I am stuck between the Rocket Ron and the Snyper for the front or take the extra weight and go dual Conti... edit: Doesn't look too bad.
  17. I want a Conti Danny Mac in 24x2.0 for the front.
  18. Believe me. Martin doesn't have to use a fisheye to make his moves look bigger.
