  1. i was like that with the astra. Fitted cheap jom coilovers, set the back to the highest setting i'd comfortably go on the adjuster, and it was pretty much sitting on the arches :L
  2. From my understanding, TUV range is what they recomend and will guarentee for normal day to day driving. found this on eBay, properly explains best: All coilovers can be adjusted within the TUV certified range. The adjustable range is larger as stated in the TUV certificate. When a coil over is adjusted outside this range they won't be covered under warranty. The lowering range stated in the auction isn't the TUV certified range. I,e, you can lower it 20mm and its still covered under warrenty. Any lower and it wont be covered
  3. Also, are you sure the 20mm drop stated isnt just TÜV certificated range?
  4. where the strut mounts affects travel, so if the strut mounts half way down the arm, 10cm wheel travel will be 5cm spring travel?
  5. Dan, i can imagine being with you being....... interesting.... Poor Lass
  6. hence why no-one takes car advice from you
  7. Guess your going to support the top from the crash bar? Looks well setup to be honest
  8. That looks well tidy! How strong is the intercooler with only bottom supports holding it? i thought they'd be quite alot of flex, especially with it being that big.
  9. I've seen worse pass mot As long as they brake even on the testing machine(which it sounds like it will), they'll be fine. They may put the condition down as an advisory, but i cant see them failing it on it.
  10. Get pictures up As long as brakes work like they're should, i don't think condition is much of an issue, unless it looks like it could effect the brakes.
  11. is it bad that 120bhp sounds like fun to me The astra is meant to be 68bhp, but i think the timing is a bit off so its gutless as f**k! My golf is 90bhp, and to be honest im over the moon with that!
  12. sad thing is, i agree with you Had to use my astra whilst the golf was off the road. The 1.7 dti engine is the most gutless piece of shit i've ever had to put up with, but on coilovers, its the best handling car ive ever driven!
  13. i'm quite sceptical about the 'quality' of them. There were faily cheap, yet rated to at least 17,000NM . However when i recieved them, the bearings look like they're bronze, and the bushes look like they're nylon lined. (the actualy body is aluminium aswell.) They can't be any worse than the ones i took off, so i might see how long they last. If im happy with them, ill either throw on some boots, or replace the rose joints with some higher quality ones. As ive said before, ive got standard shocks, the springs are ment to be 40mm lower (they seem quite soft) so it does have alot of body roll, so its hard to feel the difference between the drop links.
  14. Made some home made drop links for my roll bar today. They do feel slightly better than the standard ones. The bushes on the passenger side was shagged, but its hard to feel the difference when you have standard shocks, and standard profile tyres M10 female rose joints + m10 threaded bar Drivers side done: Passenger side done:
  15. would be ideal. Mines got a pre-facelift linkage/gear lever atm, been hard to find the newer ones
  16. why would she object to it having a garage? It gets you out of the house

    black work

for some reason i thought you said childern, was pissing myself
  18. Theres a speed bump just up from where i live where pretty much everyone bottoms out on. Like even standard height family saloons, ect. So yeah, its a pretty cunty thing getting pissed off with someone because they slow down for speed bumps... They're there for a reason!
  19. Got bored, disassembled the old clutch plate today: Old plate thickness vs new: And the crem de la crem, the state of the internals
  20. I get the distorting light issue, i was questioning the effectiveness of cleaning it just by squirting water at it. And i know i'm not usually the one to get involved in your rants, but you know by far your the worst moaner in here?
  21. That's what i never understood about the laws on Xenons. Self leveling i can understand, without it you could blind people. But washers? Surely if your headlights are dirty, squirting them with water and not wiping them is not going to make a blind bit of difference. Thats like washing your winscreen without wiping it?
