  1. And now to quote Luke completly out of context
  2. i went for the Motorsport one on mine. 60 duro rubber and not voided, nice upgrade from standard but no notisable noise increase. had polybushes on too may diesel cars where they shock the car to bits :L
  3. The lever is an old hs22, which has a 16mm piston.(as opposed to the standard 14mm) You'd properly have to set up the pads to be closer to the rim, but its not as bad as you think.
  4. seen them listed up before, was tempted to make a set myself :L
  5. Considering my car's a right heap, lets play where i found the dead mouse today:
  6. Took the dash apart today.... people are morons... complete morons: so yeah, what do you do apparently when the airbag light comes on? insulation tape over the icon, then stuff the light hole with paper: Oh look, the airbag light comes on..... and stays on. (which i knew would happen otherwise they wouldnt have gone though all that effort!)
  7. you mean like a twin r1 engined classic mini?
  8. cheers. after the 'advisory' list on the mot that came with my car had been 90% of the issues ive fixed on it, theres an advisory that the air bag light doesnt come on, so i suspect they've removed the bulb. Just wanted to check before ripping the dash apart!
  9. bear with my stupidity (i hate MOT language) but am i right in saying 'Supplementary restraint system' is airbag/ seatbelt pre-tensioners? if so, am i right in saying the light should come on when you switch the ignition on, then go off afterwards?
  10. the brought/bought wasnt overlooked, dan made sure of that
  11. common, at least say what you said in the first place! pussy!
  12. what can i say, i enjoy winding you up
  13. i dont know whats better: 1. That i dont give a toss how i spelt it 2. Or that when people pick me up on it, i know how much it'll wind you up
  14. Woke up this morning to see this on the kitchen whiteboard from my sister: My sister is that petty that shes bitching about a £1 drink that she brought that i accidently drunk (cause i had brought a couple of them recently) She hasnt been home yet, but i left a reply:
  15. i do kinda know where your coming from, even if you say it in an arse about face kinda way Put a non-a series engine in it, space frame it ect and its not really a mini anymore? Even if i had the money, i wouldnt fit direct injection to my car, and i think the guys at special components realise that the performance benefits are minor for the price that it costs. For them it seems to be about having the rights to say that they were the first people to do it, and the engineering work behind it really is phenomenal.
  16. This is always worth a look if anyones interested: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10155073239400285.1073741853.441656335284&type=3 Full bespoke direct fuel injection for A-Series engines.
  17. What do you do on your 25th birthday when you've taken the day off work? Scrapyard..... :L found a seat toledo with the right gear lingake that i need, so robbed all that off it (just need gear cables now) i didnt have anything to cut the wires for the reverse switch, so i placed the wirirng on the gearbox mount, and hit it with a engine stabliser bar to cut though the wiring Also nicked the airbox (even though the maf isnt the right size ) Plan for today was to fit the new side mount. Size difference, not much but about 20mm deeper Was for a 1.8T, so had the sensor mount in the intercooler. Made a blanking plate out of 4mm stainless steel that i had lying around Roughly in place Clearance close to the chassis rail All in and bolted up tight also brought an S2000 air filter today. Know the bloke from euro parts quite well, he pretty much said: guess you dont have a reg number as everyone fits these to everthing. Made me laugh
  18. pictures/link? i found it one day bored at work on my lunch trawling the internet (like you do!) i think i found something on a mk5 golf gti forum, where they said about the car having better weight distribution, and it could be to do with the battery being boot mounted, which got me thinking about it all! then i found the picture of the airbox on google search, which i havnt found since
  19. about £33 posted, with 24 hour delivery. shame i cant find the photo, seen someone who did a cai, where the battery was removed, and it was a massive box covering the air filter/battery area. That's what i want to do to mine, tidy up the enigne bay some, move weight off the front to put it on the back, and means when i go to wire in a amp/sub later, the battery is already boot mounted!
  20. took your time ha ha, in all seriousness, looks pretty sweet! Got the day off tomorrow, so might see about a s2000 filter and see if i can pick up an airbox from scrappy. in other good news, managed to pick up a full ally side mount on ebay dirt cheap, look forward to fitting it tomorrow
  21. Nothing like outing ben when he didnt create the topic
  22. to be honest, im not stupid, i know most of the modifications i'll make will make very little difference Currently my inlet manifold must be coated at least 5-10mm thick in soot/oil, so if im replacing it, might as well replace it for something better. Just thought, if you're fitting the s2000 air filter in the standard box, how do you get the piping from the filter to the standard maf? just enlarge the maf hole in the airbox?
  23. cheers luke, think thats all the info i need. i'll add it to the shopping list. also need a 3" maf and airbox, as the 90bhp diesel pd is 2.5" This finally came in the post though, 130/150bhp inlet manifold. bigger bore, better port layout aswell.
