    All seems a complicated way of doing things. Wouldn't dividing by the number instead of multiplying give the answer? Although that is just to give you your initial figure to put back into your formula

    I'm currently running tech 3 levers with v4 calipers with 203 floating vented discs which is massively overkill for what I need on a trials bike so just trying to get something more appropriate

    What's the difference between hope mono trial and hope trialzone calipers. Is there much difference in performance and could both be used with tech 3 levers.

    If everything else is good on the bike I'd be tempted to get a partial refund and get another 2nd hand frame and swap the parts over if you can be bothered.

    Could also be the cable you're running. I have no experience with v brakes for trials but I'm sure someone will tell you a good cable setup

    Also remember you won't spend much time in that position as you'll be on the back wheel a lot. I'm 6 foot and I ride a 26 and my weight is more over the front end than that.
