  1. That's exactly what I would have said. I use those and I don't have a problem
  2. That was like 4 years ago when the ISIS burns first came out. They fixed it in within about a month... Having said that, I've used both ISIS and normal 'burns and I couldn't tell you the difference. I would probably just buy square taper given the price difference. Annnyway, back on with the topic, the FSAs are nice and they're all 73mm these days, so you can't go wrong there. I had a Platinum DH and it was fine, not much more to tell really...
  3. Wicked. Cheers everyone. Hopefully I'll get it all sorted and have a sexy awesome disc again
  4. You gotta decide what you want to do really. A decent trials bike will be rubbish for getting around on, and a trials/jump bike will be shit for trials. There is no such thing as a trials/jump bike really, it'll just be something that someone has bodged together and thought it would sell better if they sold it as a dual-purpose bike. I would say get the trials bike. You can always sell it again like you say. But then again we are biased around here, we like trials In fact: Don't get the trials/jump bike. Get either a trials bike, or a jump bike, or a road bike/whatever. There isn't anything that will do everything, so just pick one thing you like and try it. Second hand bikes hold their value pretty well - You could probably buy something second hand now, use it for a year and (if you decide you don't like it) sell it for maybe only £100 less than you paid for it.
  5. OK, I've got the price wrong - It's £199 now, BUT that includes a free headset, bottom bracket and 4 bolt mounts. Plenty of info there too Frames @ Tartybikes
  6. So... You changed the rotor, but the disc was still 5mm too big, so you spaced it out that little bit? Sounds good to me Cheers Jon
  7. Definitely change the frame. The T-Bird is really a pretty awful bike IMO. Well, it's not bad for the money, but it makes everything three times harder than it ought to be. So unless you can sell the bike, change the frame. Why not save some money by shopping second hand? The Python is alright I think, but the Zona Zip is £179 (?) and it's basically the same frame. Well, in terms of how much it costs to make it's the same frame, slightly different geometry and stuff but it's your average long, low, silver bike. Some people prefer the Zip, some people prefer the Python. I don't think there's much in it. If I was on a budget I know which one I would go for. Bear in mind though that most frames take a 19" back wheel, and the older T-Birds have a 20" back wheel, so you would need to change that too. I *think* the '04 'Bird has a 19" wheel (so you're ok) but I would check
  8. Well that explains this I guess
  9. By the looks of the Zoot, it'll just be like a small stock. Go for it I don't see how you can go wrong, but if you don't like it, you can always sell/swap as people have said
  10. Ooooh, that's interesting. I've just bought a Juicy, so I shall have to try that. You, sir, are ace So I need to add 1-1.5 mm extra spacers between the adapter and the caliper? Have you actually tried that? Looking at it, that seems as though it would work, but has anyone got any practical experience of it? Also would I need longer bolts to make sure there's enough thread in the adapter?
  11. But seemingly they suck at making decent ipods in the first place
  12. Right, I've got some Ashton forks here and I want to know if they are the old batch with the messed up disc mount, of if they're the newer ones that will take a disc. I don't really want to mess about with the funny-sized discs either, that just seems like a lot of hassle. Is there any way of knowing or measuring? Or do I just have to try it?
  13. About 25 in the rear (stops it folding you see) and around 20 in the front. I would run less in the rear if I could though.
  14. It only works if you are short-sighted, so if you are long-sighted then you can forget it. Basically what (I think) they do is take some of the material off the front of your eye (your cornea) with a laser. They just skim a few layers of cells off so it's not quite so thick. When you are short-sighted, your cornea is refracting (bending) the light too much. So when you have the laser surgery the cornea doesn't refract light as much, and you can see again. Magic. I guess they wouldn't attempt it if your eyes were still changing (getting worse), but they would tell you all about that. I want it done, I think. It'd be really nice not to have to put glasses on in the morning, but it would also mean that I could go swimming and stuff without having to worry about losing contacts. And when you think about the amount you spend on glasses in a lifetime, it seems pretty cheap too.
  15. I didn't think they ever were. I can tailwhip a scooter
  16. I liked your post about the rail Felix
  17. And everyone will be like "Wow, you bike had a top-tube! Old School" Or probably (judging by the shit quality of posts recently) more like: "OMFG ur bik ad a top teeyoob "
  18. i don't really know. Does your card have a cable that goes from the TV card to the line-input on your sounds card? Because you could get the audio separately going straight into the sound card if it is like that.
  19. I wouldn't put it on cable, because by the sounds of it, it's not plugged in via the cable, just by a standard aerial lead, which happens to come from the NTL box. Try it on "broadcast"
  20. I didn't realise that he used a custom longer lever...
  21. Haha, you're right really. Just wanted to check it wasn't any worse than my BB7. Having said that I have tried BB7s that were nowhere near as powerful as mine, so I guess there's a bit of variation in them anyway... Oh well, I already ordered one off On-One anyway
  22. Also does anyone know how they enforce the daily bandwidth limits? I signed up for the 1Gb/day thing and it's just stopped downloading after approximately 2Gb (all today). Any ideas when it'll be working again?
