  1. EDIT: It's not on the website, I told you it was rubbish. Is there a Decathlon near you?
  2. Go to Decathlon, they do a £170 road bike that is a TOTAL bargain. I've got a Carrera I've had for a few years, cost me £320 in the sales. The Decathlon one is almost the same spec (Sora with flight deck shifters) for half the price. I don't know how they do it*, but it's a total bargain, there's no point even considering anything else for that sort of money IMO. Hold on, I'll try and find it online. Decathlon's website is a bit rubbish though. *Actually, I do know how they do it. Loss leaders. They sell certain bikes at a loss to entice people into the shop.

    Headunits With Usb

Yeah, they do. Smaller (laptop) ones don't need power and are slightly more expensive.

    Headunits With Usb

Possibly true. Having said that, most of the Alpine HUs have iPod support which works fine with my 30G iPod (which has a proper hard drive inside). I would imagine it would be OK but I dunno. You'd have to get a notebook harddrive so it's powered off the HU and doesn't require additional power. For the amount they cost (I just found one for £45 for 120Gb), perhaps it doesn't really matter if they break after a year...
  5. Easy: Finder > Preferences > Advanced > uncheck "Show warning before changing an extension" To be honest, that's one of my top 5 reasons why Leopard is better than Tiger. All the supposed big improvements for Leopard (Coverflow, Quickview, Time Machine etc) are pretty cool but it's the little things that make the difference.
  6. Videora iPod convertor? Or Handbrake for ripping DVDs.
  7. Just man up a bit. A bit of pain never hurt anyone, so to speak. Also I reckon it helps to be a bit bigger - crashing hurts less if you're more buff - so get down the gym
  8. Yesterday, I found my mum trying to open some .exe (on her Windows PC) she'd just acquired from an unknown website. AVG was stopping her and she was wondering why... So I guess this feature is for people like her. On the other hand, Leopard allows you to switch off the annoying 'Are you sure you want to change the file extension' popup. That one used to bug the hel out of me on 10.4.
  9. Surely it doesn't bother you THAT much? It's one click, and only the first time you run an app?
  10. He did say: Although I can't remember the weight of the first one. Around 5lbs I think.
  11. It's too high. http://www.heatsinkbikes.com/content/veeadapters/V2bike.jpg I know what you mean, perhaps add a third hole on the top, below the mag mount, for a removable v-brake mount? I think there might be issues with the v-brake arms clearing the mag mounts, though. I presume that Steve has considered that idea and thinks that the current system is better though.
  12. Go for it. Don't worry about USB/firewire. Firewire is marginally quicker for some things but slower in others so it's much of a muchness - but USB is much more useful since every computer in the world has it.
  13. EDIT: This one looks pretty cheap. http://www.digitalpromo.co.uk/freecom-clas...tail-p-754.html There's not really much difference between different ones - they all do the same thing and they're all gonna be about the same speed (which is pretty irrelevant for most people anyway). Just choose one with the right amount of storage/price.
  14. Do you mean video files as in divx/xvid/avi/mpeg files (E.g. downloaded films, TV programs etc) or like DV video? If it's the first one you'll have no problems at all - USB hard drives are plenty fast enough for that sort of thing (by miles in fact). For editing DV then quicker (I.e. internal) = better , but I doubt you'll have any problems either way.
  15. I've got that on VHS somewhere
  16. It's not THAT expensive. SRAM X0 rear mechs are £180 (RRP) and those V-Racing ones are considerably lighter and more exclusive. I wouldn't run one, mind.
  17. Er, why? There's only a couple of companies who will even consider warrantying a trials bike, and DB isn't one of them. They don't owe you anything, and they're not going to give you a new one. By all means try, but you'll be wasting your time.
  18. It's on eBay though - the postage cost is just a way of the seller reducing his eBay fees. It costs what it costs and you won't get it in the UK for less.
  19. My understanding is that welding aluminium is only really a good idea if you strip the frame completely, weld it and then heat treat the whole frame. All of this costs a lot and it'll still be weaker, so it just doesn't make sense at all. I'm sure they won't... Just suck it up and save for a new frame.

    F1

Cool, so there's no traction control this year? Any other changes?

    Whoooooo Are You?!

There's another forum that I go where you can just change your name freely (as often as you like). So people change name all the time, it gets well confusing. Not in a good way, just in an annoying way
  22. Quicksilver works in basically the same way as spotlight but is waaaay more powerful. I have it set to ctrl + space (where spotlight is alt + space for me). It's quicker and it 'learns' stuff so your most frequently-used programs come up first. I mainly use it for searching the web. Open Quicksilver, type 'w' (for wikipedia), then tab across to the search field, type whatever and press enter. It opens a new safari tab on wikipedia for whatever you searched. It'll search hundreds of sites besides wikipedia (google, google images, flickr, facebook, ultimate guitar etc). I've also set up shortcuts via QS - E.g. F8 is 'check new mail' and I use it to control iTunes. It's just brilliant, you really do have to try it.

    Broken Bones

Nothing. I must be indestructable compared to some of you guys (Either that or I'm just a pussy). Although I have dislocated my shoulder 6 times, and had an operation for that. Also I chipped my elbow like someone else mentioned earlier - I had a lump of bone or something floating around in there for over 2 years. It's gone now though, it just dissolved.
