What year is yours? Are there any preferred model years?

I guess my question would be what sort of MPG is achievable with the different variants? Ideally 30MPG+ if possible? I'm no stranger to fixing cars/motorbikes so I don't mind buying a car which needs a bit of work. What sort of price would a Cupra go for with "average" miles?

Tom, others, I'm looking for a new car in the near future. Originally I was going to purchase a 1.8 Focus Zetec as it would be a practical, safe choice. However, I'm now considering something with a little more oomph and maybe something I can tinker a little with. Could anyone give me a brief run down of the Leon models and the ones to avoid/go for etc? That would be very much appreciated! Cheers, Dave

Thanks for the feedback. I am potentially looking at the 2.0L Zetec. Not sure the ST170 is worth the extra money for what I want. I also get the impression they would be driven a lot harder! What sort of mileage is reasonable for a used focus? I know the Zetec engines are very reliable and at the end of the day it matters more about how well the car has been looked after etc.. Dave

Hi all, It appears that the "Random small questions" thread is no longer here so apologies for the new thread. On the back of my driving license (Full Motorbike and Car) I have the provisional codes fkp (as expected) but the start date for these is the date that I took my A2 (i.e. 33bhp restricted) motorbike test back in the day. Am I right in saying that this should state the date that I first received my provisional license? (Some ~1 year before the printed date). I have looked at my counterpart license and it does not mention the provisional license start date anywhere. Any help would be great. Cheers, Dave

Agreed. Stuxnet was pure genius. I used to be exposed to certain groups in my teenage years and found that most people with any real skill kept to themselves and certainly wouldn't advertise like LuzSec are.
