Thanks for the replies. What does the fr badge actually get me over a normal cupra?

Going to look at a 2005 1.8T FR tomorrow. Any tips for things to look at? It's got 100K on the clock and FSH... Seller is looking for £3K onvo. If it were in the good condition it is advertised as, what would you pay for it? Not sure what would be considered a cheeky offer either? Would it be reasonable to haggle at £2800?

What MPG are you guys realistically getting from your Cupra T's? I am stuck between buying a "sensible" ~2006 Astra 1.6 or going for a Cupra and having more fun (?) I do 44 miles a day so don't want something that drinks too much... Dave

As some of you know, I'm looking for a 2003/2004 Leon Cupra. Now I know that mileage isn't really a great indicator of condition at all but I have some sort of mental block when it comes to looking at cars for sale! I'm finding lots of ~70K+ cars (which is probably low mileage if anything) for my price-point (£2.5-3K) but something in my brain won't let me. Please can someone convince me otherwise!

I have refrained from commenting but some of the points being made here are so far-fetched I fear for the next generation! I find it funny how every major event in the past X years has had an associated conspiracy theory within a matter of days (hours in some cases!). It's sad to think that people are so sceptical nowadays. I just wrote a large rant but what's the point! I'll cut to the bottom line... Since the beginning of time people have disagreed. Ah yes, well if paint two red stripes on the enclosure that's an extra 50%! This is the problem nowadays...everyone is carrying a computer in their pocket which makes these kind of products easier to integrate. I've seen ODB2 bluetooth adaptors for £10...just need a fairly trivial app and you have GPS and accelerometers at your disposal. I could do it with dedicated hardware but it would never sell for this reason.

I need a new Electronics project (or prodduct so I can quit the day job and work for myself...) and was thinking about designing something for use in a car and/or motorbike. Has anybody got any suggestions of things they'd like to have? OK, that is a very open-ended question but it would be interesting to hear if there is anything that hasn't been done or could be greatly improved that people would like. Ideas so far have included various sensors (wideband O2 etc) with a display, some sort of ODB2 data logger, speedo corrector.... Dave
