Sorry only just got this vid. I dont really like watching demo stuff to much but it was alright. Cassio at 3.22 that is one of the nicest things I have ever seen on a trials bike, and sums up why I love cassio. :P

I say maggie most of the time. But if Im being proper about it I say MA-GU-RA

I would say Smart guys from onza. £90 I think so not the cheapest and I think they are 405mm long so they are not the longest but they are fecking strong. Really thick steerer and its threaded so you can just screw the top cap into the forks. I have snapped a fair few forks and these are good so far and very stiff. Plus I think they come with a really good warranty.

Not street, but portland is a tad sick.

Well I have tried Koxx blues from thursday till today and they were shite. It goes like this. Put a fresh harsh grind on riim, set pads up really well and then rode around a bit on them to try and settle them in a bit. They seemed crap from the start, not like browns which seem to work much quicker for me. Then went down poole on saturday and rode most of the day in the rain, and they were terrible. I know most brakes go worse in the wet but Im 100% sure that browns on my grind would have locked and held fine as I have done many times before. Then today went to portland to try and ride some natty and well lets just say it wasnt very fun. Its the first time I have changed from browns in 2 years and Im going to get some more tommorrow.

Does anyone know where to find dates for next years events? So that I can start planning it out a bit more.
-
Yeah he is a really chilled out nice guy.

Really dont buy the univex stuff. It is different. My local bike shop broke up a pack of the magura stuff and just sold me the rear set, so maybe ask yours to do that.
-
Magura braided hosing. Much much better. Im with jon and snappel for sure. I have had mine for 4 years now. I did have trouble with mine, but only becuase they werent fitted right. They are quite akward to attacth well but once they are they wont be coming out.

Of course a good bike wont make you good, and I suppose some people do think that. But if I was just getting into trials now, at the age of 19 I would buyu what I liked and think looked cool and rode well. Then learn on that. I wouldnt expect to then go on a group ride or something and then get bitched about cos I cant tap 50 inches. Its like you have to achieve a certain level before you can then get a better bike. People can ride awsome on crap bikes, and I think thats one of the awsome things about trials, and I think it was Brant richards or something that said "... thats the thing with trials, its already unplugged. Only trials riders can ride trials..." Its all about your skill, but then we all know that some bikes are better for some things than others. You shouldnt be limited to what bike you can buy by your skill, only by your wallet. I also think people are progressing better because of all the good trials frames availble now a days.

So you have to wait till you are of a reasonble standard before you can buy a nice bike?? Seems a little stupid to me. Before you start, I had to buy my first bike, and I saved up £700 and bought a ddg shooter with maguras and stuff. If you can afford a nice bike, and you want a nice bike, then I would buy a nice bike. If you cant really afford a nice bike then buy whatever you can afford and ride that, if your not happy with it then you can save up. Well off topic as well. So has anyone got some clips from it yet?

Yeah ali great idea. I also might want to go to some french comps as they are UCI rules arent they?? Does anyone know if I have a UCI license can I enter any UCI comp around the world e.g in france and stuff or will I need something else??
-
Yeah I never have any problems with mine. People will say blah blah blah they make your brake crap, and blah blah blah they dont hold a grind. But my brake works really well and you have to grind say once every 2 weeks but thats fine by me.
-
Is there any websites I should check out, like the british cycling one, and one with info on getting a license and one with a schedule of dates and venues for next years UCI events??
-
£60 is quite a bit. But probally worth it. So you dont have to get selected for a uk team or anything then?? You just get your Licence and you can ride?? I only want to do a few, should be a good laugh.
-
Basically I would really like to go to some UCI events, the worlds next year and any other UCI events really. They just look really good fun. But to ride the UCI worlds do you have to be part of a team, like with the BIU worlds you have to be on the british team. So I wanted to know if you have to be selected, and if so how?? Basically any info on entering UCI worlds and other events would be really helpfull. I know a few of you have been so give me the low down. (Y) :D EDIT: Also from my understanding there are only 2 catogories, Men and Junior, is this right?? So I would have to ride with kenny and vince as Im 19??
-
I think Mark is right. We will twat the shit out of that middle bit, which will probally lead to it denting and becoming sharp, and that will probally cause loads of punctures that way. It will also give a really harsh ride as the tyre wont be able to absord as much as it normally does because it will "bottom out". At first I looked at the pic on the site with the 2 cross sections of a flat rim and this rim and I thought it was a wicked idea. But the pics show the rim on one side mainly and rocking on the middle bit. Us trialsters hit both sidewalls at the same time most of the time, so we will just bottom out on that. Probally works really well for freeride.

I could James. She is always lying on her back (Y)

Sorry snappel I was joking  I wish I could get 45 mate so dont worry, thats a good height.
-
Yeah for sure, but it only seems to be tech in qualiying, and then burly for the final. Dont get me wrong as I know it takes great skill to do the big moves as well as power. Its just when you get only massive gaps to seprate the riders it seems a bit odd to me. And you get like kenny on 0 and vince on 1, its not really hard enough in my eyes. But then they are in a league of there own I suppose. But there seems to be nothing to seperate the riders out. You get the ones who can make the gap and the ones who cant. I think Im in a funny mood, so Im gona stop now, just a feeling I had. EDIT: Yeah a great point snappel and I think its good that he does both. Dont forget Savage, slinger and butler all do both to a high standard aswell. EDIT2: sorry just something else similar to this. At the NBR trial it was a similar thing I found. Although not a uci event, which would probally would have added the odd one or two dabs, my scores were either a 0 or a 5. So were many other peoples. I think maybe its just the nature of man made trials.
-
Yeah I wasnt really refering to this round actually. I really liked the sections in cologne. The last one in livingo, where they had to ride on those massive coloured cement things and stuff like that. I agree when its on natural its really tech, and I know there are tech parts, its just seems to me that alot of the sections are either u can or you cant, and there is only one way to do them. Rather than on natural there may be two or three different ways to get through. Im probally just in a funny mood. I dont know.
-
Yeah I ment to say about that. Hahahaha I think its funny  They must have complained and got it removed or something. Im sure Felix could fill us in on why they removed it. Its probally just me on this one, but in the UCI comps the semi finals and final just seem to be big rather than technical. So its basically you either can do it, or you cant. So basically the most powerful will win. I like the qualifiying sections because they seem more technical. I know the comps are hard, its just to me they seem to lack something, Im not sure. Does anyone agree with me??

I did 57.5 inches once James. Was trying to go to pedal and just landed on top. Amazing
