We live in the UK. If you dont ride when its cold and wet, then you may as well take up another sport during the majority of the year. I think like ben said that I do my best riding in the winter. I dont get really sweaty as soon as I start and you have to concentrate alot more. I actually love riding when its raining, it just makes you feel really hardcore :- and really dramatic. Smooth technique is what you learn in winter. :lol:

Yeah but to be fair I think he should know that plazzies dont work in the wet before he goes and buys some just before winter. I would never ever use heatsink or rim jam, so instead of just saying niether I thought I would suggest probally one of the best wet weather pads about Yeah the old ones were mint. I reckon they changed them though because people were only needing 1 set of pads a year

YES THEY ARE WORTH THE MONEY If your spending £20 on koxx browns then they last ages anyway and work sweet in the wet.

Ok koxx browns do work, Im not really sure who says they dont, just bear in mind they are ment to be used on a grind. Plazzy's are very good, however please think about the fact that we are now entering wet weather riding time and plazzy's dont work in the wet. Koxx brown work very well in the wet on a grind and so I would suggest strongly the browns over anything else purely on the wet weather performance and the time of year :)

What tyres?? I find just lower the pressure and you will be fine. You will be surprised about how much abuse the tyre can still take even when lower

Just grind your rim and get descent pads and its real fun in the winter. I think I do my best riding in winter because you have to concentrate a touch more. The problem I have is being in work till 5.30 by which time its pretty dark, and in winter pitch black. :) So some where light up indoors would be a real sweet bonus but unless you know some one with the facilities and or space you have to put up with dark street :)

It would be nice if they could confirm riders this year. As last year they said loads of riders that werent there were confirmed to be there. So a guaranteed rider list would be nice this year :)

I think you need to calm down Flower. You obviously like ryan. I like ryan aswell, but I can find manifesto boring. You say "all vids are now is tap this sidehop that". Which is true, but manifesto is spin of this, jump up that spin off something again. Just because he is spinning rather than tapping or whatever doesnt make it any less repetative. Why are you having ago at him because he doesnt like it. I personaly thought it was too short and a touch predictable. I did enjoy it and the bonus stuff is the main reason to buy it. So are you saying you cant have an opinon unless your better than the rider you want to have an opinon about?? Thats stupid and encourages the behaviour you claim you hate. You obviously dont like a vid of vince or the coustelliers, but they have amazingly smooth technical style. Or is that not style because they dont land drops flat??

Are you joking?? In a world filled with taps and sidehops and gaps, he does something totally different. I can find it boring too sometimes, but look at what he has done in his career and some of his riding is mental. How many people do you think you will ever see riding along a thin round rail, then down onto a chain and back up onto the rail and not even get close to loosing his balance. He might not be "fashionable" and ride uci, but he is a great rider and I have loads of respect for him.

Well welcome to winter. The only way you are going to have a safe, working descent rear brake is with a grind. Its really easy to do. If you already have an angle grinder then just try it out. There are a lot of topics on how to grind a rim so try the search and look in the FAQ's. Its the only way to still enjoy the winter. Pads in the wet would have to be Koxx brown bloxx. Plus they dont wear down very quickly at all. Coust are good pads but have rather shit backings so they wear all uneven. If you dont want to grind your rim then dont, and enjoy a slipping break for the next 6 months. Everyone does it for a reason. Once people have tried it they very very rarely go back to anything else.

For a a Mod (just guessing as thats what your thing says) then get a profile. And try the search as this dissccussion goes way back. But for a mod go for a profile :)

To be fair to everyone, this thread was always going to be 95% crap. Just to add my crap. I think dani comas has the record for sidehop over a bar on 26 which was 47 I believe. Joe 135cm is not 35 inches. Only big pro's will have the chance to do the offical world records as its all about publicity. Neil and craig would probally be up there in the guiness book otherwise.
