Saw that a while ago, what a legend! I'm en route to Coombe. I've done 45 miles, with 150 left, and I'm bored already, this does not bode well! To think I used to do this journey every other weekend for two years when I was with my ex. Nuts!

Yay, good lad! I'm leaving mine at 6, so hoping to get there 9:30/10. Depends on traffic and how many times I stop haha!

Can't beat having to clean it every 30 seconds because of the shit the comes out of the exhaust either!

Come down Robin...we need to meet!

Hahaha, Lou is a hero! Lol, Tic, I think the last time I saw you I still had my 306! How times have changed I hope those bacon and brie garlic baguettes are there again. Those things EASILY made the 4 hour journey worth it!
-
He's pretty much just driving it I think. As long as he doesn't turn it into what his A3 was, its ok! That thing was a disgrace. Tic, are you still going Saturday? Jardo, are you? I presume Nick is. Who else? Mrs Jardo?

It is. But not THAT Alex, haha. Last trackday he went to, he didn't torque his wheel nuts up, and on the way home his wheel fell off on a main road. Bloody tool! This Alex has a stage 1 S3.

Yeah, but I'm not booked on. Its an evening session, and I won't get there til about 5:45. Briefing is at 4:30, and its MSV, who are a bunch of miserable twats so probably won't let me on! Plus I'm not doing it for full price if I'm losing out on over an hours track time! Have to try my bartering hat again haha! I'm only really going to show a mate who's there today doing a novice day what stage 2 feels like. ...but we all know what I'm like with peer pressure!

If he gave you £500 AND the 205, he'd be a moron, haha! Looks tidy from the picture. Thought you wanted sideways action though? To be fair, if you get any money at all plus the car, surely its a financial winner? The 205 must be 100x more fun to drive? As a side note; who is going to Coombe on Saturday? Pretty sure I'm up for the journey now (dependant on how the track day this evening goes, haha!)

I still struggle to see how I can be classed as "up North". That's like me saying you live in Wales, lol.

Everybody knows we are scared to leave Norfolk, leave it out! I paid £4k for a 1 owner MINT (literally not a mark on it) FSH, fully taxed, fully MOT'd A3. I travelled 400 miles in total between looking at it and driving it away. So neeeerrrrrrr The fact I crushed it 2 years later after destroying the "mint" car I once had is besides the point, haha.

A lot of it depends on where you live I think. That price around here wouldn't get you a facelift. No way.
-
Don't mention anything then? Tic, I'm tempted, but as you say, its a bloody long trek for just a day!
-
Agree 100% Robin. I like to look about at the various different marques, and the different styles of modding. Just makes for a more interesting day than when your looking at 100 different (even though the majority have the same wheels, airbags and stretched tyres) ways of modifying the same car.

E38 is full of scene kids. At least Trax has some variation. Some bits are chavvy, yes...but there was a large proportion of nice motors there too, and stuff to watch, unlike at E38. VW shows are always the same shit at different venues.
-
Some joyous little scrotum keyed my car at Trax on Sunday. From the front light all the way to the rear light. Wankers. It doesn't look too deep though, so hopefully it will polish out. ...and Jardo, I'm not the one getting pulled over by the police for "drifting" around a roundabout

I saw that video on Facebook Nick. Never seen a car spit a flame that big before! Epic!
-
Oh, must have misread that somewhere. That's even better then! Pretty sure all teardrop mirrors are electric (folding and heated) too. ...this is far too geeky!

Some later facelifts came with 312mm brakes instead of 288's, but other than that, they are pretty much the same mechanically (as far as I was aware anyway!)
-
Pre-facelifts dont really look any different to "normal" Leons (bar the multispoke alloys); so you pay the extra, but still look like a pauper. At least the facelift has a full sport bodykit, so there is some differentiation between the models (although they can still be confused with a soot chucker!). Why anybody wouldn't pay the extra for a facelift one is beyond me.

Luke, as Jardo said, they are fairly bombproof other than the bits he said. Check the front footwells, they will probably be wet, most are nowadays because of the leaking door seals (or pollen filter housing). Not a hard job to fix it, just have to put a butyl strip around each door panel. Only problem is it makes the windows steam up because of the condensation. Other problems could be sticking rear brakes (although this can be sorted with a spring on the hand handbrake mechanism on the rear calipers). The secondary air injection (SAI) pump may well be shot, which will make it sound like a Dyson when it starts up (most people remove it though, so not an issue). Unless it has been changed, the PCV system will almost certinally be split, which will cause vaccuum/boost leaks. Other than that, just check the usual cambelt history, oil condition, brakes etc etc. You can't really go far wrong though! (All the points I mentioned are easily fixable, they just help with bargaining!) Wish I lived your way, anything under 2k here would be a right dog! "Original" S3 slayer. Haha, good one.

That surprises me, I thought all the smaller mafs were the same! Good news that it seems to be ok now though!
