What would you want this for? Is it just for lazy seat adjustment?
-
Your need to come to Snetterton has just increased ten fold. DO IT!!!
-
Just seen said video... ...GOOD LORD!!!!!!!
-
Sadly, its 5 years in terms of insurance

Martin has been warned and suspended for a day. He is treading on VERY thin ice. Remember...use the report button, that's what its for! On the flip side...please reinstate the original post, seems a shame to have deleted it (and possibly have shared some knowledge) just because an idiot piped up.

Either stall it or block off the air intake so it suffocates itself. Sounds horrible though, would hate to feel that helpless watching my engine lunch itself!
-
Yeah, get 3". You get used to driving with harnesses, and adapt your approach to junctions and stuff, its not a big problem, its just a bit frustrating having to release the shoulder straps whenever you need to lean forward! If you're going to get a cage, you 100% need buckets and harnesses though, unless you want to know what it feels like to be a baseball!
-
Skoze - harnesses day to day are f**king annoying. They are shit to look around at junctions, shit for changing track or radio station, shit for reversing, just generally shit. Although sayign that, they do feel far far superior in spirited driving, because there us no movement in the seat whatsoever. Just don't run them on normal reclining seats though, because in a crash you could potentially snap your spine. Robin - shifter looks good. I had mine there in the a3, it feels SO much better, properly puts the shifter right in your hands.

Yeah...all the cheap kits are the same thing, just rebranded differently.
-
Pimpin' If I could afford it, I would always buy a "named" coilover...the ride quality is sooooo much better!
-
Because I drive it properly To be fair, most of the problems with the HID's were because I ran them as main beams too; they don't seem to appreciate being turned on and off a lot! Nor do they like water! Shocks failing was 100% because it was so low. Mind you, saying that, I've got my Weitecs not far off ad low, and they are 10x better
-
Jardo, you always say I had no issues, lol! I had 3 sets, and the rear shocks went on all 3 sets (one pair on the way to the 'Ring...messed that trip up, haha!), and one of the fronts went on the last set. However, saying that, I ran mine VERY low (front helper springs, and rear adjuster platforms removed), so the shocks were constantly at the limit of their travel. If I were in your position of wanting cheap lowness, I wouldn't hesitate in getting another set. Just don't run them too low, and you will be fine. Even if they do fail, they have a 2 year warrenty, which will see them replaced anyway.

You gave him a refund before he sent it back? ...I wouldn't count on it coming back any time soon!

There's a lot more differences than just the timing belt cover...
-
Eurgh, those tow straps are probably the gayest thing to come from this years "fads". On a track/racing car, fair enough (I even had one on my Audi before they came the latest trend, but I actually needed mine due to having to cut the original tow eye off for the FMIC install), but on an otherwise standard road car, they are SO gay its untrue. At least that polo is a bit modified, but it still sticks out like a sore thumb! Don't even get me started on the "tow" stickers on road cars either...!
-
It is real, there's other videos of it. Danny, I'm an electrician yes...but it wasn't much hellp when doing the car! Switched grounds and stuff don't happen in houses! Mini loom will be waaaaay easier, there's FAR too many sensors in the Audi loom!
-
Haha, yeah! A few of those joins had different coloured cables in them too, very messy!
-
The worst bit of the loom is behind the glove box. There's a good thick wrist-sized bundle of cables going though there. I reduced that to about 10 cables. There's so much unneeded bollocks in the loom There's really not that much in the clocks once you get rid of the bulb monitoring stuff, abs sensors, door sensors etc etc. I had that foamy stuff too...its a b*****d! I pulled the foam off, but under the foam there's still the materially loom tape, which is REALLY sticky, and leave the wires in a right mess! Wasn't impressed with the way some of the cables were jointed from the factory, looked a right bodge!
-
Yeah, Robin, they are twisted together for data screening. The ring IS removeable; I took mine off, and glued the transponder chip onto it, and stuck it in the clocks (I had no ignition barrell. I started the car with a push button, and had the ignition switch under a military style flip cover. "Security" came by the form of a motorsport battery kill switch (not exactly secure, but it was kept in a locked garage when I wasn't using it...and it was so raw to drive, I'm pretty sure anybody that nicked it would've returned it pretty damn quick haha!) Jardo, he probably will, but I remade the WHOLE loom without using a wiring diagram (ever seen the amount of cabling in a bare a3?! (without the dash...90% of it is behind there)) Custom looms take a loooooong time! Plus, I did mine for want rather than need, hence the "slow" progress!
-
On mk4 platforms, it is in the black plastic collar at the end of the ignition barrell, literally right by where the key slot is. 1 green wire, 1 black (was on my a3 anyway). It then goes back into the clocks, where the actual immobiliser circuit is. Most people with engine swaps just do an immobiliser defeat/delete though...
-
I dunno, I think the whole retard thing is fairly apt when Jardo is concerned!
-
I think that has to be the best analogy I have ever heard hahahahaha!
-
Jardo is always right. ...Unless he isn't right, then he "can't be bothered to argue.
-
Plus, what is "better for you" wasn't the point in question. We were saying the ko4 is better than the ko3s. Which it is...every time.
