I actually disagree with you fully there, learning on a streetier bike has loads of benefits. Firstly it will still feel and look like a bike, if you went straight into a seatless comp style bike it will ride very strangely to you without previous experience. Secondly you want to learn how to ride, having a super specialist bike may make some stuff easier but I'd argue that making stuff easier isn't the best way to learn. Riding a streetier bike that is slightly harder on the back wheel will teach you more about how body weight effects moves and increase bike control way more than just jumping on a bike that does half the work for you. Thirdly you'll be able to use the bike in more situations, a seatless comp style bike are very specialist and unless you absolutely know you'll never want to ride a skate park or jumps I'd advise against getting one as a first trials bike, if you go for a more alround streetier model you still have your options open to ride more things.

awesome stuff, the lack of correction hops makes such a difference! Keep it up!

equalled my PB with this 124cm hop at the weekend

In vote here, I was on the fence for a while as I didn't know anything about it, some of the leave arguments seemed appealing to someone with no knowledge but the more I looked into it and after reading articles from informed non corrupt people the in vote made more sense.

I will not resort to click bait, I hate that stuff.

I don't think many of you will be as into this weeks vlog, unless you are actually interested in why I became a trials rider and why I like cats? Either way, this weeks Vlog episode is a bit of a Q&A session....I'll try and make the next one a bit more action packed and less monotone. Ask Ali

just bumping this so everyone can appreciate Chimpy's skills again

you've got the wrong hole The yellow is where you've got it but the green is where it should be I think that's right anyay, I find it hard to mentally build a wheel rather than having a physical thing, definitely not a spoke length issue, it happens to the best of us at times.

I'd be really really rubbish....not even kidding

yeah, they were all roughly the same just small changes in bb height
-
yeah, I loved my Ashton. Something around 1080, +25 and 380 back end would do

I only change it every 6 months or so, I find with larger toothed cogs chains are under a lot less stress and last longer, one reason why I've not gone to an 18t up front even though I'd get the clearance I wanted. I'd quite like to have a go on a more TGS setup, I'd need to get a custom frame though, not a fan of any frames currently on the market (bb is too high) and it'd be nice to have a seat. I'd like to do an evolution style video, I feel my editing skills are lacking to get it how I can picture it in my head though but I'll do it one day, thanks for the suggestion.

I added the bar height as an annotation not realising they didn't show on mobile devices. They're 103cm at the middle of the end of the grip

after a week of failed vlog attempts I tried a bike check video. I get a lot of interest in my bike on social media so I thought I'd go pretty in depth and explain what I run and why. I thought it would be a 6-10 min video but it's turned out closer to 20! This video won't appeal to everyone but I did throw in just a handful of clips too. Inspired Arcade bike check

tried a bike check, it just wasn't coming out like I'd wanted, I couldn't explain things properly and I just wasn't happy with it

having a shit time vlogging this week

none on my fingers and hardly much on my palms either, the only one I do have is on the inside base of my thumb where I wrap it around the bars

As Adam said, that's just what V brakes do, they work almost in reverse to a Magura, less forwards bite but more rearwards hold and that's why I loved them.....a quiet brake that just clamps on when you need it most.

I think I'm just wanting something that means I can get more content out, I've always been a quality over quantity person which is why I only let people see the finished edit in stuff like Clean videos. That has it's plus points as it means people will hold you in high regard riding wise but it's also a double edged sword in that people don't see how long it takes to land stuff and they'll actually think I'm a better rider than I am and potentially be disappointed if they were to see me in person. I don't ride big banger lines every day so these kind of videos are just more "real". The other side is that Danny has the "epic" video thing to a point and no matter how hard all his fans try, they'll always be second to him at that video style. These Vlogs are a way for me to be different in a crowd of people all trying to do the same thing, I don't want to be a Danny copy, I want to be known as myself.

Bunnyhopping high. Twist left or twist right.

yeah, I agree with that, there are times I get caught out, that's why I always say trials teaches bad habbits for street/bmx stuff. -

it does him no favours when it comes to some other stuff though, he struggles to spin out of wallrides as he does them oppo (if I remember correctly) and he often uses a pedal crank to spin rather than just a hop. -
Latest one is up, there's a bit more riding in this one. vlog 4
